Description
The invention relates to a disinfectant application device for surgical purposes, which is used in particular for cleaning and disinfecting.
The history of the development of methods for skin asepsis begins with the use of carbolic acid by Lister in 1867. With the advancement of this prior art, the methods and products which serve to improve aseptic conditions in the prevention of postoperative wound infections in which the Ensure previous shave operation and when preparing the surgical site in the operating room. The factors that affect the reduction of postoperative wound infections are diverse and generally well known to those of skill in the art. One of the most important factors of this kind is the achievement of good skin asepsis. Since most bacteria do not penetrate under the corneal funnel above the openings of the sebaceous glands, the majority of the organisms are easily accessible on the surface for aseptic treatment and can be sterilized if effective disinfection methods are used. With regard to surgical disinfection or cleaning methods, it is known that the killing of the bacteria follows a logarithmic curve, which means that the majority of the organisms are destroyed during the first few minutes of disinfection.
An effective and simple method to achieve the asepsis of the skin in surgical treatment methods is the use of a sponge-brush-type application device impregnated with a germicidal agent.
Although this device is an improvement over the multi-part products comprising solutions, sponges, wipes, etc., it suffers from a disadvantage inherent in the device, namely that the germicidal agent already dispersed in the sponge is subject to degradation or destruction.
From US Pat. No. 3,768,916 a disinfection or cleaning unit is known which comprises a pierceable ampoule in which a liquid soap is contained. When using this device, the ampoule is interrupted, so that the soap released is released when the disinfection and cleaning unit is used.
The object of the invention is to provide a disinfectant application device for surgical purposes that does not suffer from the disadvantages of the previous devices and enables simple and good cleaning or disinfection of the skin surfaces to be treated without a deterioration in the germicidal agent.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a) an absorbent sponge with a lower wiping surface and a cavity in the upper region of the sponge,
b) mindestens eine Durchstechspitze in dem Hohlraum, b) at least one piercing tip in the cavity,
c) einen Griff in Form eines Behälters, der ein flüssiges, keimtötendes Mittel enthält, c) a handle in the form of a container containing a liquid, germicidal agent,
d) eine Durchstechmembran, die das keimtötende Mittel in dem Behälter zurückhält und e) eine Einrichtung zur klebenden Verbindung des abgedichteten Behälters mit dem oberen Bereich des Schwammes oberhalb des Hohlraums, so dass beim vertikalen Zusammendrücken des Schwamms die Durchstechspitze die Membran durchsticht und das keimtötende Mittel in den Schwamm eindringen und bis zum unteren Teil der Wischoberfläche fliessen kann. d) a piercing membrane that retains the germicide in the container; and e) means for adhesively bonding the sealed container to the top of the sponge above the cavity so that when the sponge is squeezed vertically, the piercing tip pierces the membrane and the germicide can penetrate the sponge and flow to the lower part of the wiping surface.
In den Zeichnungen zeigen: In the following an embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing. The drawings show:

Fig. 5 is an enlarged exploded view showing the individual parts of the device according to the invention in the order in which they are assembled.
In contrast to conventional surgical preparation devices, a more convenient, one-piece disinfectant applicator for surgical purposes is provided. In particular, the germicidal agent or the germicide is contained in a vacuum-shaped plastic container which also serves as a handle. This avoids possible dangers that can be caused by broken fragments of ampoules and the like. The container handle can also hold a larger amount of liquid than the embedded ampoules, which for practical reasons must be slightly smaller than the sponge or absorbent pad.
As can be seen from the drawings, the invention includes a surgical disinfection or cleaning device 10 comprising a pre-cut absorbent sponge 15 made of polyurethane, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, regenerated cellulose, foam or any natural or synthetic polymer and in can be formed in situ or externally with the aid of a blowing agent, such as a fluorinated hydrocarbon “freon” or carbon dioxide, which can be textured so that it can have either a particularly abrasion-resistant cleaning surface 18 or a fine-cell cleaning surface 17. The sponge 15 mainly serves to prepare the skin before any operations. In order to achieve ideal aseptic conditions, the disinfection or cleaning device 10 contains a germicidal agent 14 in a container handle s formed in a vacuum

Alcohol, quaternary ammonium compounds, etc.) is compatible. The surface of the container handle 11 can be provided with a roughened or textured surface 20 in order to improve the handle. The germicidal agent 14 is retained in the container handle 11 by means of a piercing membrane 12. The piercing membrane can either consist of paper or a film and can be coated with a suitable adhesive with which the container handle is attached to the upper region of the absorbent sponge 15.
In the upper region of the absorbent sponge 15 there is a cavity 16 which receives a piercing tip 13, which can consist of a piece of a molded plastic 15 or a drop of a hot melt adhesive, an epoxy resin or the like, which materials are used in the cavity 16 drips and hardens. Such reinforcements or serrations can also be formed by coating the foam tip with an epoxy resin or a hot-melt adhesive solution, which hardens and gives the piercing tip 13. In all cases, the piercing tip 13 should have a point or edge with a strength sufficient to pierce the piercing membrane 12 when a moderate force is applied to the tip.
Bei der Verwendung des erfindungsgemässen Desinfektionsmittel-Auftragvorrichtung ist es lediglich erforderlich, When using the disinfectant application device according to the invention, it is only necessary to
dass die Person, die die Haut des Patienten für die Operation vorbereitet, einen vertikalen Druck auf den Schwamm ausübt, was zur Folge hat, dass sich der Hohlraum 16 vertikal nach oben bewegt, wodurch schliesslich die Durchstechmembran 12 durchstossen wird, was zur Folge hat, dass das in dem Behältergriff 11 enthaltende keimtötende Mittel in den absorbierenden Schwamm 15 eindringen kann. that the person preparing the patient's skin for the operation exerts vertical pressure on the sponge, causing the cavity 16 to move vertically upward, ultimately piercing the piercing membrane 12, resulting in that the germicidal agent contained in the container handle 11 can penetrate into the absorbent sponge 15.
