The present invention relates to a device making it possible to directly carry out the molding, possibly associated with a twisting or wiring operation, of a wire stored in the form of a crossed winding without cheeks, for example cake or coil.
During the manufacture of chemical threads and mainly glass threads or rayon threads, the material is received in the form of a coil, generally of large diameter, on an inexpensive tube, mainly made of cardboard or thin plastic material, of which the diameter can be of the order of 100 to 300 mm, which allows winding to be carried out at high speed.
In the following description, the invention will be described applied to glass son received in the form of a cake during their spinning, but it is obvious that this is not limiting and that it can also be used for other materials and other types of crossed windings without cheeks.
As a reminder, it will be recalled that the manufacture of glass strands (silionne) consists schematically of extruding through dies of molten glass, the filaments leaving the die being drawn at high speed due to the traction exerted by the spindle.
At the exit of the die, the filaments receive a size and are returned without twisting on a cardboard support.
In general, the diameter of the winding support is, as said above, between 100 and 300 mm, the most used diameters being between 100 and 200 mm, and the winding speed can range from 2500 to 4000 m / min, see more. The windings have a weight which can vary from 250 g to 8 kg of material, or even more than 10 kg, the thickness of the wire on the cardboard support tube being small and generally between 2 and 5 cm.
The current trend is, on the one hand, to increase production speeds and, on the other hand, to increase the weight of the windings.
It is well known that before subsequent use, the untwisted yarns must, in most cases, receive a certain protective twist, which varies according to the application, intended to give cohesion to the filaments, which are then arranged in a helix, which improves friction resistance and, to some extent, tensile strength.
This twist is communicated to the wire during a milling and / or twisting operation.
In general, the term "molding operation" denotes an operation which consists in imparting the twist to the wire at the time of unwinding of the winding, the wire then being returned.
By twisting, we designate the operation which consists in communicating the twist to the thread at the time of its winding.
In some cases, it is possible to combine the molding operation with a twisting operation. The invention is particularly suitable for trades allowing continuous molding and twisting.
Until now, it was recognized that it was impossible to carry out, at least at industrial speed, a milling and / or twisting starting directly from a cake. Indeed, the cakes are non-rigid windings which tend to deform, which poses problems for driving them in rotation and, moreover, due to the size, the turns of wire are glued together and are, as a result, difficult to unwind regularly during the parade, as is generally done during a milling operation.
Consequently, in general, before milling and / or twisting, the yarn is transferred from the cake to a conventional support capable of being used on a mill and / or twisting machine. This prior unwinding operation is carried out by unwinding the yarn from the cake on unwinding, by positively controlling, possibly at variable speed, the rotation of the cake for a constant linear speed of yarn. The tension of the slider which goes up to the cake then makes it possible to easily release the turns from each other.
Now, we have found, and this is what is the subject of the present invention, a new device which makes it possible to suppress the transfer of the wire between cake and coil on an intermediate twisting machine and makes possible the direct use of the cakes on a machine for molding or for molding and cabling combined, which leads to the elimination of an intermediate operation and brings obvious advantages of improving the quality of the wire produced and reducing the total cost of the processing operations.
The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for molding-twisting, or molding-wiring, but it is obvious that this is not limiting.
According to the invention, the device for the unwinding in the process of a spinning cake essentially comprises a vertical spindle t driven in rotation at constant or variable speed, means for centering and positioning the cake on said spindle, means essentially constituted by two cones 2, 8 placed in opposition and fitted at each end of the tube 4 supporting the winding of material 5, means for blocking the two cones.
This device is characterized by the fact that the lower cone 2 is integral with the axis of the spindle 1 and is extended by a circular auxiliary centering element 6, of diameter less than the internal diameter of the cake, the maintenance of the cake between the two cones 2, 8 being obtained by means of a blocking element which connects the lower cone 2 to the upper cone 8, said upper cone 8 being associated with a cap 9 which is of diameter greater than the external diameter of the winding and which facilitates clearing the wire during reeling and promotes the formation of the balloon.
The cap associated with the upper cone is either immobilized against the surface of the cone, for example by means of the locking element, or it forms a unitary whole with said cone.
In addition, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, one of the cones, preferably the lower cone, is advantageous.
suitably associated with an auxiliary guiding and centering element of circular shape, the diameter of which is less than the internal diameter of the winding and of length less than the length of the winding, said guide member being provided with junction elements with the locking element.
The cake is crushed by the clamping between the two cones, and its diameter in the middle decreases slightly to come to bear against the auxiliary guide and centering element which keeps it perfectly in the axis of the spindle.
In this way, during rotation, the cake is perfectly held, on the one hand, by the cones placed at its ends and, on the other hand, in its middle part by the auxiliary guiding and centering element, this which allows it to be driven at high speed in rotation without excessive vibration.
In addition, the presence of the cap in the vicinity of the upper cone makes it easier to unwind the thread turns.
The junction and blocking element which connects the two cones and immobilizes the winding between them is a removable element which bears on the upper cone, passes through said cone and enters the internal recess of the cake, fits onto the 'axis of the spindle and fits on a fixed complementary part.
In one embodiment, the junction and blocking element is constituted by an element the upper part of which bears on the upper cone, this element comprising a spring which tends to separate it from said cone, the lower part of the element opening into the recess of the cake and sliding on the axis of the spindle and comprising at its end a socket which comes to engage with the joining means integral with the lower cone, such a corresponding system, for comparison, substantially the connection mode by socket and bayonet used for electric lamps.
The invention, and the advantages which it brings, will however be better understood thanks to the embodiment given and illustrated by the appended diagram which shows, seen in section, an assembly in accordance with the invention.
As can be seen in the diagram, the device for blocking and unwinding the parade of a wire winding in the form of a cake according to the invention comprises:
a spindle 1 driven in rotation and mounted on a frame in a conventional manner,
- A lower cone 2 secured to the spindle t and extended by a cylindrical part 3 of diameter less than the inside diameter of the cardboard tube 4 supporting the wire winding 5. The cylindrical part 3 is extended by a ring 6, secured to the pin t, which has at its upper part joining means 7.
This ring 6 is, of course, also of smaller diameter than the internal diameter of the winding,
an upper cone 8 comprising a base 9 larger than the outside diameter of the wire winding (cake) 5 and which acts as a cap during the unwinding to release the wire and favor the balloon,
centering and positioning means, constituted by a removable element 10 which passes through the upper cone 8 and which comprises a base 11 on the cone 8, an internal recess 12 which allows its centering on the top 13 of the spindle 1 and, consequently, promotes the maintenance, centering and driving of the cake, a spring 14 placed between the base 11 and the upper part of the element 10 and serving as a clamping element for the assembly, joining means 15 with the complementary joining means 7.
Advantageously, the base 9, which plays the role of cap during the unwinding, is as shown in the diagram, in the form of a bell whose lower edge 16 extends beyond the outside of the cake.
In the illustrated embodiment, the junction elements 7 and 15 are of the so-called bayonet type, which enables rapid and effective release and blocking.
Thanks to the invention, it was possible to use directly on a mill cakes of 3 kg, 220 mm in outside diameter and 250 mm in length, at a spindle speed of 5000 rpm, and this without cause excessive breakage and / or overvoltage, the quality of the wire obtained, in particular the regularity of twist over its length, being comparable to that of a wire twisted in the traditional way, that is to say with prior unwinding of the cake on an intermediate support used to feed the mill.
It had already been proposed to use means for centering and positioning the cake on the spit using cones (see in particular French patents N 751626 or 1539707, or American patent N 1898131). However, these solutions have not been satisfactory and above all do not include a centering element.
The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for the molding of silion wires, without twisting, coming directly from spinning, that is to say in the form of cakes. Until now, in practice, these cakes have been processed on a special twisting machine with controlled unwinding, the speed of which capped at around 150 m / min.
On the other hand, with the application of the device according to the invention on an arrangement comprising in series a rotary food spit on which is placed the cake coming from spinning, a rotary receiving spindle, with continuous passage of the wire between these two spits on of the references, one can reach linear speeds of approximately 300 m / min, and even more, if one takes into account the fact that the food spit working according to the principle of the mill is not limited in speed by the absence slider ring.
