Abstract
Process for initiating the polymerisation of monomer compositions containing ethylenic unsaturation. The initiating agents employed are compounds of formula <IMAGE> and the monomers are free from any group capable of reacting with the acidic group of the initiating agent. The latter is employed in the presence or absence of air, oxygen, heat or visible or ultraviolet light. The activity of the initiating agent and, consequently, the polymerisation rate are increased by sources of energetic radiations.
