After cooling, the resulting crystal suspension is filtered off with suction and washed with cold water. Melting point 182184 C. By recrystallization from about 10 times the amount of ethanol, 2,6-dichloropyridine-4-carboxylic acid hydrazide is obtained with a melting point.
