(US PS 3 819 966)
The invention relates to a system with at least two actuating drives controlled by a common actuating signal and to the use of the system for adjusting air flaps in a ventilation and air conditioning system.
In the area of air conditioning in buildings, especially with so-called parapet and ceiling devices, the heating and cooling energy supplied to the room is primarily metered through air flaps. These air flaps are adjusted by suitable devices, so-called actuators.
The actuators in turn receive the control signal from temperature controllers, the energy form of the signal being pneumatic or electrical. Pneumatic energy has certain advantages over electrical energy. For ventilation reasons, a room to be air-conditioned requires several such parapet or ceiling devices, depending on its size. All devices in the same room must be controlled by the same controller, as otherwise there is a risk that mutual interference will result in energy losses (e.g. simultaneous heating and cooling).
However, the control of several parapet devices from the same controller requires that the flaps run as parallel or synchronously as possible. With pneumatic drives, this synchronous operation is given by the principle. In the case of electric actuators, this synchronous operation is achieved using the current state of the art in two ways. By scanning the flap position z. B. by means of a potentiometer coupled to the flap, the flap position is compared with the controller signal by a so-called control relay in each individual actuator and corrected if necessary. This method is technically and costly.
Another method is to use synchronous motors in the actuators. These synchronous motors enable good synchronous operation. Reversible synchronous motors require a capacitor that is matched to the motor to generate a rotating field. As soon as the actuator reaches an end position, it must be completely separated electrically from the other motors by suitable means, otherwise it will execute uncontrolled movements due to reverse currents and in turn affect the other motors and make synchronous operation impossible. This electrical separation can hardly be achieved with relays, since their differences in the pick-up and drop-out times again call the synchronous operation of the drives into question.
Either this compromise of poor synchronization has to be accepted, or so-called isolation electronics have to be used, which ultimately increases the price again. Leaving the synchronous motor on in the end positions causes vibrations and noise and is therefore of limited use.
Despite its many advantages, electrical control is inferior to pneumatic control in key points.
A synchronous motor has also become known which has a drive shaft provided with a clutch of constant torque such that the maximum load on the motor, corresponding to the constant torque which the clutch is able to transmit, cannot be exceeded. This synchronous motor is not suitable for the solution of the problem set out below, since it has no transmission and, moreover, no use according to the invention is provided in this prior publication. (U.S. Patent 3,819,966)
The invention is now based on the object of creating a system with actuators with which it is possible in a simple manner to operate several folding motors for parapet and ceiling devices electrically synchronously.
The system according to the invention is characterized by at least two synchronous motors which each act on the actuator via a gear unit and a torque-limiting clutch.
This means that several actuators can be connected electrically in parallel and operated from one controller. When one of the two end positions is reached, the torque is limited by the coupling without the motors having to be switched off and affecting each other.
The clutch is advantageously designed in such a way that by interposing the clutch, with or without its influence, the same maximum torque is always transmitted with a sufficient service life.
Different types of couplings are possible. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
1 shows a schematic diagram of the reversible electric actuator with a torque-limiting clutch, the actuator executing a stroke movement.
Fig. 2 shows the details of an embodiment of the torque-limiting clutch, designed as a mechanical slip clutch.
The reversible motor 1 shown in FIG. 1 transmits its torque to the end gear 3 via intermediate gears 2 acting as a reduction. This end gear 3 is also designed as a mechanical slip clutch. The force is transmitted via the end wheel 3 through an internal thread to the non-rotatable threaded spindle 4, whereby it executes a lifting movement. If a flap operated in this way reaches its end position, the counterforce increases the torques in the gear until the clutch on gear 3 slips.
Fig. 2 shows a possible detailed design of the slip clutch.
A spur gear 11 designed as a ring sits slidingly on a hub 12. Laterally prestressed steel disks 13 are firmly riveted to the inside of the hub 12. On the outside, the steel disks 13 press with a defined force on the spur gear 11. This spur gear 11 is advantageously manufactured from a plastic whose static friction is not or insignificantly greater than the sliding friction. The pretensioning of the steel disks 13 is selected so that the frictional force resulting from the contact pressure of the steel disks 13 on the spur gear 11 and the coefficient of static or sliding friction of the two surfaces meeting one another corresponds to the desired maximum transmission force. The frictional force acting per unit of area must not exceed a certain level in order to avoid excessive heating and thus premature wear.
The following dimensions are possible for an application: Hubs 12 internal thread M8, external diameter 16 mm Friction disc 13 internal 14 mm, external 26 mm
Thickness 0.3 mm,
Preload 0.5 mm spur gear 11 outside (pitch circle) 29.5 mm sliding surface of friction disc 13 and spur gear 11 total 80 mm2 for the max. Transmission of a torque of 1.5 cmkg
By choosing a drive with a torque-limiting clutch, limit switches are not required. This gives the user a device with which he can easily assemble the device without having to set travel-dependent limit switches. At the same time, it is possible for him to operate drives in parallel from the same controller in the simplest possible way, without the motors influencing each other due to the parallel connection of the reversible capacitor motors.
Ultimately, when one of the two end positions is approached, the motors connected in parallel and thereby the air flaps are synchronized again in their position.
