The invention relates to a circuit arrangement in a motor vehicle for switching on the lighting of the motor vehicle by a light sensor sensing the ambient light, which controls an automatic switching device, and by a manually operated light switch.
Such arrangements are known and used in various embodiments. They are primarily used to ensure the lighting of the motor vehicle, even if the driver z. B. at dusk or when driving through underpasses forgets to operate the manually operated light switch.
The known switching devices have so far practically not been able to gain acceptance due to various disadvantages.
In particular, the known devices have partially hand-operated switches from automatic to manual switching of the lighting, which make operation confusing and also involve the risk of operating errors.
A switching device is also known which automatically switches on only parking lights and tail lights when the brightness falls below certain values. However, it must be taken into account that the parking light lighting is by no means sufficient in certain cases and that only a makeshift identification of the vehicle is achieved.
Other switching devices also lay z. B. the switch for low beam or high beam automatically to voltage as soon as certain brightness values are undershot. This has the disadvantage that when the switch is in the appropriate position, the high beam can be operated automatically, which leads to a traffic hazard.
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages of the known, in particular to create a circuit arrangement for automatically switching on the lighting of a motor vehicle, which activates the lighting of the motor vehicle in the simplest way and without additional operating elements, without endangering the traffic by operating a improper lighting could occur.
According to the invention, this is primarily achieved in that the automatic switching device has a switch-off device which is connected to the manually operated light switch and which switches off the automatic switching device when it is actuated to manually switch on the motor vehicle lighting. This ensures in an optimally simple manner that the automatic switching device is switched off at any time by actuating the standard light switch provided in every motor vehicle, so that the driver has the freedom to choose the type of lighting.
It also ensures that, for. B. If the automatic switching device fails, the lighting system can be operated manually without being disturbed.
The disconnection device for deactivating the automatic shifting device can obviously be provided both as a separate device which controls the automatic shifting device or, more advantageously, can also be designed as part of the automatic shifting device.
When re-equipping motor vehicles or when replacing the manually operated light switch, it is also possible to use the light switch itself with a disconnection device, e.g. B. in the form of a normally closed contact, which then supplies the automatic switching device with power as long as the light switch is not manually operated, however, the automatic switching device switches off with each manual operation.
For trouble-free operation and to simplify the subsequent installation of the automatic switching device in motor vehicles, it is particularly advantageous if the power supply through the automatic switching device is electrically connected to the parking light supply line behind the manually operated light switch. The disconnection device for deactivating the automatic switching device when the manual switch is actuated is particularly advantageously also connected to the connection line for the power supply of the parking lights, with the disconnection device behind the manually operated light switch and then the line for supplying the parking lights through the automatic Switching device is to be attached.
In order to avoid that the disconnection device is also actuated when the parking light supply is taken over by the automatic switching device, an element that is only conductive in one current flow direction, preferably a diode, is to be provided in the parking light supply line in such a way that the Parking light supply from the manually operated light switch is guaranteed, but that a current flow in the opposite direction from the automatic switching device to the disconnection device is prevented.
It is particularly advantageous if the automatic switching device actuates the parking light and dipped beam via separate switching elements, since this increases operational safety. In certain applications, however, it is also possible, by appropriate decoupling, z. B. Use of additional diodes, parking lights and low beam to switch via a common switching element.
In that, according to the invention, the switch-off device is already actuated when the light switch of the motor vehicle is actuated manually, i. H. i.e. switching to parking light, low beam or high beam, it can be ensured in an optimally simple way that any type of lighting can be selected using the light switch, although the automatic switching device itself switches on both parking light and low beam as soon as the brightness is switched off when the light switch is not activated falls below lower limit. The determination of the brightness z. B. by a photoelectric element and the automatic switching device per se are already familiar to the person skilled in the art and therefore need not be specifically described.
It is particularly advantageous if a device is provided for switching off the automatic switching device when the starter is actuated, since this avoids overloading the battery of the motor vehicle during the starting process. At the same time, however, it is ensured that the vehicle is again lit according to regulations with parking lights and low beam immediately after the start of the start process, even if the driver has forgotten to operate the manually operated light switch.
The invention is explained in more detail below in an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawings. Show it:
1 shows the schematic representation of a circuit arrangement with the features of the invention and
FIG. 2 shows the circuit arrangement according to FIG. 1 in a somewhat modified form and with a detailed illustration of the automatic switching device.
As shown, an ignition switch 1 of a motor vehicle connects in a known manner a battery 2 after appropriate actuation with the on-board network, from which the essential connecting lines for the lighting system are shown only in part. A manually operated light switch 3 with contacts 3 a and 3 b is connected to the battery 2. In the selected representation, the light switch 3 is clearly fully switched on, so that lamps 4 belonging to the parking light are connected to the battery 2 via contact 3a, and lamps 5 belonging to the high beam of the motor vehicle are connected to the battery 2 via contact 3b and a changeover switch 7 with contact 7a. An actuation of the switch 7 would cause the switching on of the lamps 6 belonging to the low beam via a contact 7b in a known manner.
An automatic switching device 8, which is activated by a brightness sensor 9 when the ambient brightness falls below a predetermined limit value, is also connected to the battery 2 via a normally closed contact 10 and ignition switch 1.
Nevertheless, as shown, in the exemplary embodiment the sensor 9 actuates two contacts 8a and 8b of the automatic switching device 8, the power supply to the lamps 4, 5 and 6 is in no way affected by the latter, because a cut-off device 11 connected to the activated contact 3a denies Normally closed contact 10 holds open.
Obviously, the shutdown of the automatic switching device is guaranteed absolutely reliably as soon as the contact 3a is closed, which is always the case when the vehicle lighting is manually switched to parking light. Even if z. B. under certain operating conditions the light switch 3 is switched back to parking light and the contact 3b opens, the shutdown of the automatic switching device 8 is retained.
However, if in the course of operations, e.g. B. accidentally, the light switch 3 is completely set to 0, although the vehicle is made ready for operation by pressing the ignition switch 1 or is in operation and at the same time low ambient brightness is detected by the sensor 9 and corresponding activation of the contacts 8a and 8b is triggered ensured by the automatic switching device 8 activation of the vehicle lighting. In this case contact 3 a is open, so that the disconnection device 11 is not actuated and the normally closed contact 10 thus closes or remains closed. In this case, supply lines 4b for the parking light lighting are connected to the battery 2 via contact 8a and supply lines 6b for the low beam are connected to power via contact 8b.
Of course, when the engine is running, the on-board network of the motor vehicle is supplied with power in a known manner via an alternator (not shown). For the sake of simplicity, however, only the battery 2 is shown in the exemplary embodiment.
If the supply lines 4b are supplied with power via contact 8a, the disconnection device 11 would obviously also be actuated, since connection point 12 and connection point 13 would be connected to ignition switch 1 in the same way via contact 8a and normally closed contact 10, as would connection point 13 when light switch 3 was actuated is applied to the ignition switch 1 via contact 3a. To avoid this coupling, from an electrical point of view, a diode 14 is provided behind the light switch 3 and after the connection point 13, which allows the battery 2 to be supplied with power via the ignition switch 1, light switch 3, connection point 13, connection point 12 and supply lines 4b to the lamps 4, however Current flow in the opposite direction from connection point 12 to connection point 13 and thus to disconnection device 11 is prevented.
Obviously, the circuit arrangement according to the invention does not require any additional operating elements which could confuse the driver of the vehicle and also ensures that the operability of the lighting system is in no way impaired by the light switch 3 even in the event of a temporary defect in the automatic switching device. This is of crucial importance with regard to the road safety of motor vehicles. In addition, the selected connection between the contact 8b and the supply line 6b ensures that only the low beam of the motor vehicle can be operated by the automatic switching device 8, regardless of the position in which the switch 7 is located.
FIG. 2 shows a somewhat modified exemplary embodiment, in which, however, to simplify the illustration, components that correspond to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 are provided with the same reference numerals. The numbers with rings correspond to the standard connections as they are generally referred to in vehicle electrics.
The arrangement of ignition switch 1, light switch 3, changeover switch 7 and automatic switching device 8 essentially corresponds to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1. In detail, however, the structure of automatic switching device 8, which consists of two complementary transistors 15 and 16, is shown Has amplifier circuit that controls 2 relays 17 and 18. Resistors 19 and 20 are provided in a known manner for voltage division, while resistor 21 is used for negative feedback.
As soon as the sensor 9, which is designed as a light-sensitive resistor, emits a corresponding signal, the amplifier stage is controlled via the base of the transistor 15, its collector, line 22, the base of the transistor 16, its collector path and thereby via line 23, Relay 17 and relay 18 activated. A switched via the collector-base path of the transistor 15 timer 24 is used to briefly activate the sensor 9, z. B. by incident stray light or headlights from other motor vehicles to prevent the automatic switching device 8 from being switched off.
To switch off the automatic switching device 8 when the light switch 3 is actuated, connection point 13 between diode 14 and light switch 3 is connected to one connection of a resistor 25a, the other connection of which is connected to the base of transistor 15. As soon as positive voltage is present at connection point 13 and thus at resistor 25a when light switch 3 is actuated, transistor 15 blocks regardless of the modulation by sensor 9, so that automatic switching device 8 is switched off.
In the same way, a resistor 25, which is connected to the positive terminal of a starter 26, is also connected to the base of the transistor 15. Therefore, as soon as the starter 26 is connected to the positive pole of the battery 2 via the ignition switch 1 and line 27 during the starting process, the base of the transistor 15 is raised in terms of voltage via the line 28 and resistor 25 in such a way that it blocks and independently of that of the sensor 9 given signal, the automatic switching device is switched off during the starting process. This ensures that the battery 2 is disconnected from any additional load from the lamps 4, 5 and 6 during starting.
To inform the driver when the lights of the motor vehicle are switched on, the supply line 6b is connected via a connecting line 29 to a control lamp 30, which is thus connected in parallel to the dimming lamps 6 and accordingly reliably indicates that these lamps are on.
Of course, the invention can be modified in detail and, in particular, other components can be provided in the automatic shifting device 8 without departing from the scope and basic concept of the invention. So is z. B. the use of single-stage or multi-stage amplifier circuits is easily possible and readily known to the person skilled in the art; It is also conceivable to provide electronic switching elements instead of the relays 17 and 18 or to assign the contacts 8a and 8b to a single relay. Likewise, instead of the resistor 25 (25a), another type of automatic shutdown can be used
Switching device 8, e.g. B. by separate switching elements, can be seen before. These and other changes are dem

Road traffic regulations in some countries provide that the front parking lights of a motor vehicle are switched off when the light switch is dimmed.
In these cases too, the parking lights or other marker lights remain switched on. It can be seen that the shutdown device is then connected to the
