Abstract
The device is for use with a screw securing two or more components together. A portion (3) of the screw (2) is expanded by the action of the conical portion of a spreader component (1), which is self-locking in the inserted position, thus preventing the screw working loose. The screw can have a conical recess (4), and to increase friction between it and the spreader component an intermediate layer can be fitted between them. There can be a stop (6) preventing excess expansion of the screw. The spreader component can have a screw thread, and its axis can be inclined to that of the screw. The design allows simple release of the screw and as often as desired.
Description

The invention relates to a fuse for a screw element which is used to connect at least two components.
There are already many possibilities today for securing screw elements against undesired unscrewing. However, the solutions known to date have various disadvantages in their application. For the mechanical safeguards, it applies that they may only be used a few times, often only once, for the task.
In order to loosen screw connections that are secured with adhesive, the application of heat is usually necessary, which is partly not withstanding the remaining components undamaged or which is partly available only with great difficulty.
The invention is based on the object of reliably securing a screw element against undesired loosening and loosening, but the securing should be able to be solved as often as desired and with simple means.
According to the invention, the safety device is designed in such a way that a section of the screw element expediently in the case of a conventional screw, the end opposite the head, can be expanded by means of a conical part of an expansion element which, when inserted, is self-locking and thus prevents the screw element from loosening in the components.
The purpose of this is to ensure that the frictional force created by the pressure on the external thread counteracts the undesired removal torque.
The conical part of the expansion element can, for example, be inserted from the rear end into a slotted part of the screw element which is provided with a conical recess.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
1 shows a longitudinal section and FIG. 2 shows a cross section of a screw element with an inserted fuse. The screw 2 shown in the drawing is provided with slots 3 in its rear end so that this part becomes resilient. Together with the appropriately selected flank angle 4 of the conical expansion device 1, this resilient screw part generates sufficient frictional force when the safety device is inserted to prevent the expansion device from loosening. The spreader is pulled into the screw to be secured with the help of the thread 5. By choosing the right flank angle and the pitch of the thread, it is possible to reliably secure a screw element against unscrewing. The securing is releasable and does not damage the screw element, so that a screw secured in this way can be used and secured as often as desired.
