Abstract

Barrel body has 2 end faces and a curved, closed jacket. The filling opening is in one of the end faces, and the bung-hole in the jacket surface, near the end face opposite that with the filling opening. Pref. the barrel is assembled from 2 parts, with tongue and groove jointing, welded or glued. The end faces are cambered, and their joint zones to the jackets are reinforced, so that the barrel's internal vol. is approx. spherical. Specif., the barrel is for domestic use, and the capacity is reproducible to conform to weights and measures regulations.
