The present invention relates to an installation for presenting elongated parts.
This installation is characterized by the fact that it comprises a movable member. playing the role of conveyor, having housings for the parts to be presented, means making it possible to produce a vacuum in said housings and means making it possible to move said movable member in contact with the parts. which are then in bulk, so that part of them are sucked into the housings and are then taken by the transporter to a use station.
The drawing represents. by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention and a variant.
Fig. I is a schematic elevational view of an installation for presenting and controlling elongated parts.
Fig. 2 is an axial section of this installation, taken along line II-II of FIG. 1, and
fig. 3 is a side view of a variant.
The installation shown is intended to present and control elongated parts I such as pins or the like lying loose in a container 2. This installation comprises a rotating disc 3 driven step by step by a motor 4.
This disc has, on its edge 5, housings 6 arranged radially with respect to its center, and which are each connected, by channels 7 formed in the thickness of the disc, to an annular chamber 8 surrounding the hub of the disc, designated by 3a. This chamber 8 is connected by a pipe 9 to a pump 10 intended to produce a vacuum therein.
The disc 3 plunging, tangentially, in the container 2, parts I are sucked by the negative pressure prevailing in the chamber 8 and engage in the housings 6. As a result, the disc 3 continuing its rotation, these parts are thus successively brought to a workstation, for example to the location of the arrow 11 delafig. 1.
The installation further comprises a control device comprising an elastic blade 12 arranged so as to be located between two contacts 13 and 14, without touching them, when it is resting on a part I of the correct size, and to close the 'one or the other of the contacts 13 or 14 depending on whether it is in contact with a piece I that is too short or too long, which provides an indication concerning the accuracy of the pieces which appear successively opposite said blade.
It should be noted that, in order to promote the pick-up, by suction, of the parts I by the disc 3, the container 2 may be subjected to the action of a stirrer producing the agitation of the loose parts in the container.
As a variant, the chamber 8 may be angularly divided into two parts, as indicated by the phantom 15 in FIG. 1,
The main one, subjected to the depression and the other, of smaller dimension, subjected on the contrary to an overpressure. When the mouth of the channels 7 passes into this second chamber, the negative pressure prevailing in the housings 6 is replaced by a jet of air which expels from these housings any waste or impurities which may be there.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, parts 1 are presented vertically at station 11. If this position is not favorable for the use of parts. for example their taking in barge by a machine tool, the disc may have another shape, for example that of the disc 16 of the variant of FIG. 3 which presents the parts, at the location designated by 17 in this figure, in an oblique position, slightly inclined relative to the horizontal.
