la fig. 1 est une vue en plan par-dessous d'une telle table;
la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe par la ligne A-A de la fig. I;
la fig. 3 montre une vue en coupe, agrandie, d'une première folme de construction de la fixation des pieds;
la fig. 4 montre d'une façon similaire une deuxième forme de construction de la fixation des pieds;
la fig. 5 est une vue en coupe d'une troisième forme d'exécution de la fixation des pieds;
The invention relates to a pull-out piece of furniture, in particular a pull-out table, comprising several elements shaped and dimensioned so as to be able to telescopically disengage from the legs of the adjacent element.
We already know a table with three legs fixed by means of a fitting under the plate, the table comprises three elements which can be dislocated by telescopic movement; the feet in the form of a tube and of a decreasing diameter, from one element to another, being slid into one another.
This table has several drawbacks. First, its stability sometimes leaves something to be desired because it is only three feet; second, it does not allow easy shipment because the construction is bulky; in addition, when shipping from the manufacturer to the retailer and buyer, and when moving, there is always the danger that the tube legs will be bent or have bent. which would make it difficult, if not impossible, to then remove the elements correctly.
The aim of the invention was therefore to construct a pull-out piece of furniture having four feet in order to increase its stability and to develop a construction which allows the reduction of the size of this piece of furniture during its transport.
The pull-out cabinet according to the invention is characterized in that each of its elements has at least four removable fixing feet, and that means are provided to ensure an identical useful length of all the feet per element when they are placed under the board of each element.
It should be noted that the proposal of the invention is not completely solved by the sole removable binding, but the latter must also include means ensuring the equal length of each foot. by element, because without it, the element is likely to limp on the flat grounds.
The pull-out piece of furniture according to the invention can therefore be delivered to the wholesaler and / or retailer. even to the buyer, in the form of a flat parcel. very space-saving, including the set of trays accompanied by a set of 4 (or more) tubular feet per element. During display or use, the legs will simply be joined together with the top of each element, and these can then fit together telescopically. The construction according to the invention makes it possible to join to the tops of the furniture more than one set of feet per element: a piece of furniture is then obtained which can have at least two heights. In addition, the feet of the different elements do not need to be all of equal length.
One or more intermediate trays can be added to the mentioned package which can be slid from below on the four feet of one or more elements, which increases the useful surface of the element which includes such an additional tray. It is also possible to join the set of castors that can be inserted from below into the feet of one or more elements, thus obtaining a rolling cabinet.
The removability of the feet also increases the extent of application of the piece of furniture according to the invention, as will be described below in more detail.
The drawing represents, by way of examples, several embodiments of a table, object of the present invention. In the drawing:
fig. 1 is a plan view from below of such a table;
fig. 2 is a sectional view taken along the line A-A of FIG. I;
fig. 3 shows an enlarged sectional view of a first construction sheet of the fixing of the feet;
fig. 4 shows in a similar way a second form of construction of the fixing of the feet;
fig. 5 is a sectional view of a third embodiment of the fixing of the feet;
fig. 6 shows a sectional view of a fourth form of this construction, and
fig. 7 is a side view, partially cut away, of a new use of a table according to the invention.
The nesting table is shown in fig. 1 and 2 as being composed of three elements 1, 2, 3. Each element, or elementary table, comprises a top la, 2a, 3a provided with a protective coating lb, 2b, 3b, for example in Formica, and borders Ic, 2c, 3c in wood, metal, plastic or the like. By the fastening system Id, 2d, 3d, embodiments of which will be described below, the tubular feet 1c, 2e, 3e are fixed to the corresponding plate, in a removable manner. Screws 4 are used to mount the fixing systems on the underside of each tray.
The fixing system for fixing the feet to the top in a removable but reproducible manner, as to the useful length of these four feet, which is shown in figs. 1 and 2, is drawn on a larger scale, in section, in fig. 3.
We first see the body 2a of the intermediate element which was chosen as an example, its coating 2b, and its border 2c.
A recess made in the plate has received a rosette 5 held in place by countersunk wood screws 4. The rosette 5 comprises a vertical part 6 provided with a thread 7 and a stop 8 in the form of a ring. The inner periphery of the stop ring 8 has a diameter equal to or slightly smaller than that of the hole 9; the diameter of the latter in turn corresponds to the internal diameter of the coordinated tube T, intended to receive the corresponding tubular foot of the element 1. The counter-thread 10 of the tube T is slightly longer, by one or two pitches for example, that the thread 7 so that the front face 1 1 of the tube T can abut against the stop 8; for the same reason, the rosette 5 is provided with a notch 12 at the lower end of its thread 7.
The thread pitch of the two male 10 and female 7 threads can be quite steep; it may also be a thread with multiple threads in order to facilitate the insertion of the tubular foot T in the direction of the arrow D. The stop ring 8 limits the stroke of the tube T; since all four tubes of an element are approximately the same length, this ensures that the table will not limp.
Fig. 4 shows a particularly valid embodiment for tops which consist of a fairly hard material, for example metal, oak wood, hardened plastic, etc. This fixing does not need the rosette 5 according to FIG. 3; in the recess of the plate 2a, there is only the ring 6, screwed by means of an external thread or simply driven out. In the latter case, the ring 6 is provided with known external baffles.
The stop is formed here, due to the sufficient hardness of the material of the plate 2a, by the lower face 13 of the upper edge of the recess, which cooperates with the front face 11 of the tube T.
Fig. 4 also shows a possibility of closing the opening 9 in the plate 2a after (or even before) the insertion of the tube T. Indeed, a stopper 14, for example of plastic material, can be inserted into the opening 9 up to 'so that its surface is flush with the coating 2b. Preferably, the stopper 14 has a slight taper.
The embodiment of the binding according to FIG. 5 has an even greater stability of the feet T relative to the plate 2a. The ring 6 is inserted at the very top of the recess of the plate, towards the coating 2b. The tube foot T has a ring 15, driven or formed with the tube or fixed in some other way. The means ensuring the useful length of the feet consists of the cooperation of the upper surface 16 of the ring 15 with the lower edge 13 of the recess in the plate.
If you want to close the opening 9, the stopper 14 'can be inserted according to the arrow E, but this time in the tube T since the latter is located, after fixing, near the surface of the plate 2a.
The stopper 14 'further comprises a round coated 2b which fits into the top of the opening 9.
The execution according to fig. 6 is friction. The rosette 17, fixed in the recess of the plate 2a by the wood screws 4, comprises a vertical part 18 which has its lower surface 19 conical. The same taper is imparted to the tube T, forming the conical surface 20. The upper edge 11 of the tube T will abut against the horizontal inner face 13 of the recess. To ensure sufficient and gentle friction, to equalize a slightly different angle of the two taper, and to ensure that the edge 1 1 will abut in all cases against the face 13, the surface 19 is covered with a layer 21 of elastic deformable material ; for example, if the tube T is made of chromed steel and the rosette 17 and its vertical part 18 are made of steel or brass, the layer 21 is made of rubber with a hardness
High shore, in tetrafluoroethylene, etc.
Conversely, the layer 21 can be on the conical face 20 of the tube T, and the face 19 of the vertical part of the rosette is free of layer.
The embodiment according to FIG. 6 can be combined with that according to fig. 5, that is to say the tube T can be provided with the ring 15, the rosette 17 having to take the form of a ring similar to the ring 6 of FIG. 5.
Fig. 7 shows a new form of use of a nesting table. Element 2 has an intermediate plate 34 increasing the weight and stability of the element. The plate 34 is held at a distance and at the suitable height by support screws 31 screwed into the threaded holes of the legs 2e. The element 1 has only received two feet 1c which are inserted into the corresponding feet 2e of the element 2 and rest there on spacers 30 made of wood or plastic, for example. Thus, the plate 1 is free to be pushed above, for example, a bed 33 thus serving as a bedside table.
Alternatively, swivel casters 32 can be inserted from below by their studs or pegs 35 in the feet 2e; The assembly thus becomes mobile.
The table described finds very diverse applications: as a tea table, bedside, living room, work in households, the office and workshop, as a service table, etc. In fact, its uses are not limited. Several elements, placed side by side, form a large table. If we add several sets of feet of different lengths to the tops, we can for example follow the growth of a child by always providing him with tables of the appropriate height.
Tables having more than four feet, for example six feet, can also be provided; in the latter case, the board usually has the shape of a regular hexagon.
The table tops, of any size or shape, can be made of wood, metal, glass, synthetic material, mosaic, etc. The round or square feet can be painted, galvanized, nickel-plated, chrome-plated, wood, synthetic material, etc.
Of course, the invention is not limited to a table. Any suitable piece of furniture can be considered, such as stepladder, stool, seat, shelf, etc.
