There are many products, both pharmaceutical and industrial, including plastics used for grouting or bonding, which require the mixing of two components immediately before use.
Until now, these two components had to be stored in different packages and their mixing before use of the product was carried out in poor conditions and required adequate utensils and work which had to be carried out with care. This is a big disadvantage, and in particular in the pharmaceutical field, we see that such products are abandoned by their users in favor of equivalent or similar products not requiring such a preparation.
The fluid dispenser according to the invention tends to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and is in the form of a sealed cylinder provided with a dispensing orifice, characterized in that this cylinder is made in two parts, one screwed on. on the other and containing a first chamber, an intermediate chamber and a third chamber, by the fact that the diameter of the third chamber is between that of the first chamber and that of the intermediate chamber, by the fact that it comprises a piston whose diameter corresponds to that of the third chamber and whose hollow rod has a threaded part cooperating with an internal thread passing through the end wall of the first chamber, this hollow rod being closed by a plug located outside the cylinder, and by the fact that, in the storage position, screwed,
the piston closes the first chamber in a sealed manner with respect to the others.
The single figure of the appended drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention.
The illustrated distributor comprises a sealed cylinder formed of an upper part 1 and a lower part 2 hermetically coupled by a screw thread. The lower part 2 ends with a distribution duct 3, the end of which can easily be opened by cutting off the end patch 4.
The sealed cylinder formed by parts 1 and 2 has a first chamber A, an intermediate chamber B of larger diameter than chamber A, and a third chamber C whose diameter has a value between the diameters of chambers A and B.
A piston 5, the diameter of which corresponds to that of the third chamber C, is carried by a rod 6, the lower end of which comprises a part of large diameter 7. This rod 6 comprises a threaded intermediate part 8 cooperating with a thread made in the upper wall of the chamber A. The rod 6 is hollow and thus communicates with the interior of the chamber A. Its upper end is threaded to receive a push plug 9.
In the illustrated storage position, the piston 5 is pressed against an annular projection forming the lower end of the side wall of chamber A, thus sealingly separating chambers B and C from this chamber A. The upper part of the chamber large-diameter portion of the rod 6 simultaneously seals off the upper part of the chamber A.
The piston 5 is held in this position by the threaded portion of its rod cooperating with the thread of the upper wall of the chamber A.
When the piston is in this position, the stopper 9 is removed, the chamber A is filled with a first component through the rod 6, then this chamber A is closed by screwing the stopper 9 back in place.
The user then unscrews the lower part 2 and fills the chamber C thereof with the second component before screwing it back onto the upper part 1.
The dispenser can thus be stored, the two components being separate.
For use, the user unscrews the piston from the upper part 1, which makes chamber A communicate with chambers B and C. The first component therefore descends into chamber C and mixes with the second component.
By continuing to unscrew the piston, it engages in the chamber C before the thread 8 escapes the thread of the upper wall of the chamber A. It is obvious that the volume of the two components must be less than that of room C.
The two components are mixed by stirring the distributor, then line 3 is opened.
By acting on the pusher 9 to introduce the piston into the chamber C, the user can eject the mixture.
