Fig. 2 Eine Draufsicht im Querschnitt nach der Linie A-A von Fig. 1.
The subject of the present invention is an earth drilling device for taking soil samples, comprising a rotatable drill pipe provided with cutting members at its frontal end.
Known earth boring devices of this type are driven back and forth into the ground with the aid of a detachably attachable drive rod provided with handles. so that a soil core is pushed into the drill pipe, which is to be emptied into a sample container after the drill pipe has been pulled out, but often falls back at least partially into the borehole when it is pulled out. Apart from this.
The fact that driving in the drill pipe by hand is tedious and time-consuming, it is difficult to obtain sample cores of the desired length in the natural stratification with the known devices and it is impossible to visually check the sample cores before emptying them into the sample container.
The aim and object of the present invention is to convey the drilled out specimen cores while drilling into a preferably transparent and lockable cylinder serving as a specimen container and thereby to prevent the specimen core from falling out when the drill pipe is pulled out. In addition, the invention seeks to create better conditions for motorized and thus quick and effortless removal of the soil samples.
The subject matter of the invention is characterized according to the invention in that the drill pipe contains a cylindrical recess, to which a drill bit fitted with cutting knives is connected via a shoulder inward and which is used to accommodate an exchangeable one. cylinder sleeve serving as a sample container is intended. The head end of the drill pipe opposite the drill bit is preferably equipped with a drive head detachably attached to its outside, for example screwed, which contains a free passage for the cylinder sleeve to be replaced and for releasable coupling with a drive device, e.g. an electric drill.
is trained. The drive head can thus be removed from the drill pipe exposed to wear and placed on a new drill pipe.
In order to enable the drill pipe to be drilled in and then withdrawn with a constant direction of rotation, the drive head of the drill pipe advantageously consists of a coupling supports provided with bayonet slots for receiving driving pins protruding from the drive device and a flange ring protruding radially therefrom, which enables a predetermined drilling depth to be achieved secures.
The drive device to be coupled with the drive head advantageously has a coupling plate provided with radially protruding driving pins at the end of a drive rod arranged coaxially with the drill pipe, which, in coupled engagement, holds the bottom of the cylinder sleeve inserted in the drill pipe, the drive rod being clamped into the chuck of a portable one Electric drill is designed. The cylinder sleeves are expediently made of transparent plastic, and each of them is advantageously assigned an attachable cover hood.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show:
Fig. 1 An axial section through the entire device after it has been completely bored into the ground.
FIG. 2 is a plan view in cross section along the line A-A of FIG.
3 shows a cylinder sleeve filled with a drill core as a soil sample and closed by a cover hood.
On an external thread at the upper end of a drill pipe 1, a connector 2 is screwed as a drive head, u. this pipe socket 2 carries an outwardly projecting flange ring 21. The wall of the pipe socket 2 contains obliquely extending bayonet slots 20, the accesses of which are denoted in Fig. 2 with 20 '. They serve to accommodate two driving pins 31 protruding radially from a coupling actuator 30 at the lower end of a drive rod 3 designed to be clamped in the chuck of a portable electric drill (not shown) and, in the coupled state according to FIGS. 1 and 2, lies inside the drive connector 2 .
A ventilation channel 32 leads inside the drive rod 3 to the upper end of the drill pipe 1.
In this drill pipe 2, a cylinder sleeve 4 provided with a bottom 40 made of transparent plastic has been inserted from above with the open end downwards before the coupling plate 30 is placed on. Cover hoods 5 are assigned to the cylinder sleeves 4. At the lower end of the recess of the drill pipe 1 to be received in a suitable manner, an inner shoulder is formed as a stop surface for the open end of the sleeve 4. From this point on, the inside diameter of the drill pipe 1 is somewhat smaller than the inside diameter of the cylinder sleeve 4. The outside diameter of the drill bit part of the drill pipe 1 advantageously decreases towards the front end. On the circumference of this end face, hard metal knives 10 are inserted alternately outside and inside.
A commercially available, portable electric drill is advantageously used for the efficient collection of soil samples. in the chuck instead of a drill the correspondingly designed drive rod 3 with the coupling plate 30 of the device shown is to be used. A petrol or diesel engine generator can serve as a power source where there is no mains connection. After an open cylinder sleeve 4 has been pushed into the drill pipe 1 through the nozzle 2, the coupling plate 30 is inserted into the nozzle 2, the driving pins 31 being inserted into the bayonet slots 20 of the nozzle and rotated by about 300. The base 40 of the inserted sleeve 4 is held in place by the coupling plate 2.
After the drill bit of the pipe 1 has been placed on the selected ground location, the device can be put into operation, with the sample core cut by the knives 10 entering the interior of the pipe 1 and the sleeve 4 through the mouth of the drill bit and the displaced air through the Borehole 41 of the sleeve 4 u. the vent channel 23 of the drive rod 3 exits. When the flange ring 21 comes to rest on the floor surface on the connecting piece 2, the predetermined drilling depth is reached and the entire drilling device is withdrawn while continuing to rotate. The drill bit, which is narrower than the inner cross-section of the sleeve 4, prevents the sample core P from exiting when the device is pulled out. After switching off the drill, the drill pipe can be removed from the coupling plate by turning it backwards.
In this way, the sleeve 4 filled with the sample core can be pushed out of the tube 1 and closed with the cover hood 5. If the sleeve 4 is made of transparent material, the sample material corresponding to the natural soil layer can be observed before the chemical analysis and be photographed.
In this way, with the device described, the samples required to obtain the desired test results can be taken efficiently and quickly from a large area.
