EMI1.1
where R1 to R5 independently of one another are hydrogen, optionally substituted aralkyl radicals having 14 C atoms, aralkyl radicals, optionally substituted aryl radicals or halogen, or their quaternization products of the formula
EMI1.2
where R1-R5 are as defined, R6 is an optionally substituted alkyl or aralkyl radical and XO is an anion.
and the use of compounds of the formula 1 and II as optical brightening agents outside the textile industry.
Optionally substituted alkyl radicals are understood as meaning, for example, the following: C113, CMO, QH7, C4H9 CHeCl, CHoOCH3.

EMI1.4
Optionally substituted aryl radicals are understood to mean, in particular, phenyl radicals which can have substituents such as halogen, especially chlorine and brine, cyano, alkyl, alkoxy, carboxyl, acylamino, sulfonic acid, sulfonamide, carbonamide or alkylsulfone groups.
Suitable radicals of this type are, for example, chlorophenyl, dichlorophenyl, methoxyphenyl, ethoxyphenyl, carbomethoxyphenyl, carboethoxyphenyl, carbonamidophenyl and carboxyphenyl.
Halogens are understood to mean in particular chlorine and bromine.
The anion X is preferably a colorless anion that either originates from the quaternizing agent used or has been introduced by subsequent replacement of the anion present from the preparation for any other, preferably colorless, anion.
Examples of suitable anions are Cl9, BrS, sulfonate groups such as OSOsCH3 OSO :: C, H5S, paratoluene sulfonate, benzenesulfonate, phosphate, acetate, zinc chloride, perchlorate, nitrate, sulfate and oxalate radicals.
According to the invention, the compounds of formula I are prepared by adding 7-hydrazino-2- [1,2,4triazolyl- (1)] coumarins of the formula

Preferred compounds are those of the formula (I) or (II) in
where R1 is hydrogen, CM and phenyl, R2-R5 is hydrogen and Rj; stand for CM3 or C.M.
The compounds of the formula I and II obtained by the process according to the invention can be used as optical brightening agents in the customary manner, for example in the form of solutions in water or organic solvents or in the form of aqueous dispersions. Polyester materials can also be treated with the compounds in such a way that they are soaked in a solution or dispersion of the compound, then squeezed off, dried and briefly heated to temperatures above 150 ° C. Furthermore, the compounds can also be added to casting and spinning compounds which are used to produce artificial fibers, threads, foils and other structures.
The required amounts can easily be determined from case to case, in general amounts of 0.1-0.5 wt. ' o, based on the material to be optically brightened, proved to be sufficient.
The optical brightening agents prepared according to the invention are extremely extensive. They are resistant to bleaching baths containing chlorite, and the optical brightening achieved is very lightfast.

The connection can be made by releasing z. B. from DMF or glycol monomethyl ether acetate.
150 g of 7- 7- [3-methyl-pyrazoly1- (1) 1-3- [1,2,4-triazolyl- (l)] -coumarin are dissolved in 101 boiling chlorobenzene. 130 g of dimethyl sulfate are added dropwise to the solution and the mixture is heated for a further 1 h. The quaternized product which has precipitated is then filtered off with suction while hot. The filter cake is washed with methanol. 180 g of 7- [3-methylpyrazolyl- (1)] - 3- [1,2,4-triazolyl- (1)] -coumarin methosulfate of melting point 236-238 ° C. (Z) are obtained in the form of pale yellow crystals. The compound is very easily water-soluble and gives good optical brightening.

Example 2
One of the compounds listed in Example 1 is added to a conventional polyacrylonitrile spinning solution in such an amount that the concentration of optical brightening agent in the spun polyacrylonitrile fiber content is 0.1% by weight. The spinning solution is spun in the usual way and the fiber material formed is agitated for 45 minutes at a liquor ratio of 1:40 in an aqueous liquor at 95 ° C. which contains 1 g / l of sodium chlorite and 1 g of oxalic acid. The fibers obtained are then pure white.
