Device for generating an eccentric circular movement of a tool
The invention relates to a device for generating an eccentric circular movement of a tool, in which a hollow spindle, a guide screw, a pull rod, a screw nut, a bearing bush and a holder are used, furthermore an eccentric bush, a longitudinal support, a transverse support, a tool holder and there is a drive mechanism for the eccentric sleeve.
For example, for the economical use of electrical discharge machining machines, the use of graphite electrodes is necessary, since their wear is comparatively low compared with that of the metal electrodes.
When making graphite electrodes, a profiled tool with the negative shape of the electrode is generally used. While the graphite material is being machined, the profiled tool performs an eccentric circular movement. The machining of the graphite material is a mechanical grinding process in which the shape of the tool is transferred to the graphite surface by means of orbital vibration and an eccentric circular movement under high pressure on the graphite material.
A device is known in which the eccentric movement comes about by means of a lever mechanism. However, the products do not have the required accuracy.
This shortcoming is remedied in accordance with the present invention. The invention is characterized in that the bearing bush is arranged in the hollow spindle mounted in a housing, in which the pull rod is mounted, which is connected by a coupling to the guide screw which engages with the screw nut, and that the pull rod meshes with a left and a right pinion, the right pinion meshing with an upper pinion and the left pinion meshing with a lower pinion, and the lower pinion and also the upper pinion with the eccentric, eccentric to the rod axis arranged sleeve in engagement stand, wherein the holder is connected to the hollow spindle and the horizontal support is rotatably mounted on the eccentric sleeve,
which carries the tool holder and wherein the guide of the horizontal support is firmly connected to the vertical support.
The device according to the invention shortens the lengthy processing of graphite electrodes when conventional methods are used. The set-up is simple and works precisely and enables worn electrodes to be replaced quickly, which increases their service life considerably.
An example embodiment of the device for controlling the eccentric circular movement is shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the entire device, Fig. 2 is a section along the plane AA, Fig. 3 is a section along the plane BB of Fig. 1, while Fig. 4 schematically illustrates the setting of the eccentricity. The device consists of a housing 4, a hollow shaft 1, a guide screw 21, a tie rod 16, a screw nut 20, a bearing bush 17, a holder 5, an eccentric bush 7, a vertical support 23, a horizontal support 29, a tool holder 28 and the drive mechanisms of the eccentric sleeve.
The hollow spindle 1 is drilled through its length and is provided at one end with an inner shoulder for the screw nut 20, at the other with an inner cone for receiving the holder 5.
The hollow spindle also serves to accommodate the sleeve 17 and to hold the holder 5 in place.
The guide screw 21 is provided at one end with a shoulder for attaching the coupling 22. It is used to actuate the pull rod 16.
The pull rod 16 is flattened from one end on two opposite sides and provided with teeth, while the other end is designed to receive the coupling 22. The pull rod 16 is used to operate the left pinion 13 and the right pinion 15 (Fig. 2).
The screw nut 20 is provided with a flange on its circumference for the purpose of fastening it to the cover 19. The bearing bush 17 is used to guide the pull rod 16 (Fig. 1).
The holder 5 is cylindrical and has a conical projection at one end. The axis of the cylindrical part is offset eccentrically with respect to the axis of the holder 5. The longitudinal bore is provided with an opening for the tie rod 16 to pass through.
In the body of the holder 5, perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, four bores are provided to accommodate the left pinion 13, the right pinion 15, the upper pinion 14 and the lower pinion 12 (Figs. 1 and 2).
The holder 5 carries the drive mechanism of the eccentric bush 7 and this itself. It has the shape of a stepped cone and is provided with a conical ring gear 9 on its rear face. The axis of the longitudinal bore 8 of the sleeve 7 is offset eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve 7, but the axis of the conical toothing 9 coincides with the axis of the bore 8. The eccentric sleeve 7 is used to operate the horizontal support 29 (Fig. 1).
One end face of the horizontal support 29 has the shape of a disc provided with sliding surfaces, while the other end face is designed as a circular flange. The horizontal support is pierced along its longitudinal axis. It is used to fasten the tool holder 28.
The vertical support 23 has the shape of a disc provided with sliding surfaces and is provided with a recess bore. It is used to transmit the eccentric movement.
The holder 28 has the shape of a circular flange and is used to hold the machining tool in place.
The drive mechanism of the eccentric sleeve 7 forms the left pinion 13, the right pinion 15, the upper pinion 14, and the lower pinion 12.
The arrangement of the facility is as follows:
In the housing 4, the hollow spindle 1 is mounted on the roller bearings 2 and 3. Inside the hollow spindle 1, the bearing bush 17 is arranged. The tie rod 16 stored therein is secured against rotation by spring wedges 18. A coupling 22 connects the rod 16 to the guide screw 21, the nut 20 of which is fastened in the cover 19 of the housing 4. The guide screw is also connected by means of the spring wedge 24 to the worm wheel 25, which meshes with the worm 26 (FIG. 1).
From the outside, the hollow spindle 1 is connected to the drive 6 via the gear 11. To the right end face of the hollow spindle 1, the holder 5 is connected, through which the pull rod 16 passes to engage the left pinion 13 and the right pinion 15 which are housed in the body of the holder 5, the upper pinion above the pull rod 16 14 and under the pull rod 16 the lower pinion 12 are arranged in such a way that the upper pinion 14 engages the right pinion 15 and the lower pinion 12 engages the left pinion 13.
The eccentric bush 7 is mounted on the holder 5, with an eccentrically offset axis, on which the horizontal support 29 is mounted by means of the bearings 10. The tool holder 28 is attached to this. The horizontal support 29 is mounted with the aid of rollers 30 in a guide 27 which is firmly connected to the vertical support 23 (FIGS. 1 and 3).
The work tool is fastened in the tool holder 28 and prepared for work. The drive 6 causes the gear 22 and thus the hollow spindle 1 together with the holder 5, the eccentric bush 7 and the pull rod 16 to rotate. But before starting machining, the eccentric circular movement of the tool must be adjusted. For this purpose, the worm wheel 25 and thus the screw 21 are rotated by means of the worm 26, so that the pull rod 16 moves to the left or to the right and the left and right pinions (13 and 15) begin to rotate. This also causes the lower and upper pinions (12 and 14) to rotate and to transfer them to the eccentric bush 7.
This rotates around the axis y of the holder 5, so that the point 0 of the eccentric sleeve 7, which is located in the axis X, begins to rotate along the path Z (FIG. 4) around the point O. The sleeve 7 is thereby offset eccentrically by the required amount. As a result of the eccentric movement of the sleeve 7, the horizontal support 29 and with it the vertical support 23 begin to move. As a result of the movement of the horizontal support 29 and with it the vertical support 23 and as a result of the movement of the horizontal support 29 and the vertical support 23 along the coordination, the tool held in the tool holder 28 receives the required eccentric circular movement.
