Kupfer in Frage.
Additional patent to main patent no. 464 978 Device for the production of fine ice or the like. Frozen products
The main patent relates to a method for producing fine ice or the like frozen products, in which the ice is produced on the outer surface of a rotating drum that is cooled from the inside, which is immersed in a freezing liquid trough, and the layer of ice formed on the drum surface is done with the help of a scraper is separated, with considerable stresses being generated in the layer of ice on the drum.
Furthermore, the main patent relates to a device for carrying out the method, which has a substantially horizontal, rotatable drum cooled from the inside, which is immersed in a trough containing a liquid to be frozen, the device having a scraping device directed from the outside against the drum shell for severing the layer of ice forming on the drum shell, and wherein the drum shell has a helical guide for a refrigerant.
With the device according to the main patent is a production of fine ice such. B. flake ice, ice granules, flake ice, snow and. like. possible. Such artificial fine ice finds z. B. for cutter purposes in sausage production or for storing fish u. Like. Use. The shape, size and structure of the ice should be relatively light and controllable within wide limits. Furthermore, the device according to the main patent enables the production of fine ice not only on a water basis, but also on the production of other frozen products, for example on the basis of milk, fruit concentrate, etc. is possible.
It has been found that in the device according to the main patent, the layer of ice forming on the drum shell forms cracks easily and without additional action in the area above the liquid trough and can be easily and completely separated from the drum shell when the scraper device is reached and becomes broken or flake ice splintered.
The present invention is intended to improve this proven device for producing fine ice or the like. Cold losses from the guides for the refrigerant to the inside of the drum are to be avoided as far as possible and the available refrigeration capacity is to be given off as far as possible to the surface of the drum and the water or the like or ice located there.
In order to achieve this object, the device according to the invention is characterized in that the helical guide is provided on the outer circumference of a drum core made of a material with good thermal insulation. The helical guide can be incorporated into the jacket of the drum core. It can also be useful if the drum consists essentially of the drum core made of a good heat-insulating material and a tube surrounding the drum core made of a good heat-conducting material, with open-edged, helical grooves being provided in the drum core which, together with the tube, guide the refrigerant form.
The invention is described below with reference to the drawing, for example. It shows:
Fig. 1 in axial section an embodiment of a drum, the core of which consists of a material with good thermal insulation, this core having open-edged helical grooves.
Fig. 2 is a partially sectioned side view of a device with a slightly modified drum and
3 shows a cross section through the device according to the line III-III in FIG. 2.
In Fig. 1, a horizontal drum, generally designated 202, of an apparatus for producing fine ice or the like. Frozen products is shown. The rotatable and internally cooled drum 202 is immersed in a freezing liquid trough in a manner not shown and has a scraper device (also not shown) on its outer surface for separating the layer of ice forming on the drum.
The drum 202 consists, apart from the shaft 231 and the seals to be mentioned, of a drum core 202a made of heat-insulating plastic and a tube 202b enclosing the outer surface of the drum core 202, which is made of thermally conductive material, e.g. B. made of aluminum.
On the circumference of the drum core 202a - seen in the axial direction in the central longitudinal area M, grooves 212 open to the outside are provided helically next to one another, which are covered on the outside by the tube 202b, so that a closed helical guide for the fluid in the drum jacket area results, similarly as has been described several times in the embodiments of the main patent.
Other heat-insulating materials can also be used as the material for the drum core, but plastic has proven particularly useful because it is easy to process, offers good heat insulation values and is chemically neutral to the materials in question or to water. As a material for the tube 202b, other highly thermally conductive materials such as. B.
Copper in question. However, preference is given to the aluminum pipe 202b because it is e.g. B. is cheap to silver and corrosion-resistant to copper.
It is advantageous if the tube 202b is applied to the drum core 202a in a sealing manner, so that no refrigerant can migrate over the creepage path from one groove to the other between adjacent grooves 212. The refrigerant is then forced to take the path prescribed by the course of the groove, which is useful for the inventive production of fine ice, which already easily cracks on the drum 207 and can be removed from the drum with a scraper without difficulty and splinters in the process has made a significant difference.
If very small amounts of the refrigerant get to the adjacent groove on the creepage path, the device according to the invention can also produce fine ice, but this is no longer guaranteed if considerable amounts of the refrigerant no longer need to follow the groove course because they are on a geometrically shorter one Ways the drum 202 can flow through. Therefore, a noticeable gap between the tube 202b and the drum core 202a is to be avoided. In order to achieve absolute tightness between tube 202b and core 202a after the end faces of the drum core 202a, ring seals DR are provided there.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the drum 202 is mounted on a shaft 231 which, if necessary, can also be in two parts, namely only embedded as a stub axle in the two ends of the drum core 202a.
This bearing shaft 231 or its shaft stub has or have an axially oriented, central bore 232 into which a radially directed connecting bore 233 coming from the groove ends opens. Part of the shaft bore 232 is provided with an insulation 234.
In FIGS. 2 and 3, a device designated as a whole by 100 for producing fine ice is shown. This device 100 has a substantially horizontal, rotatable and cooled drum 102 which is immersed in a freezing liquid trough 101. According to FIG. 3, a shear device 103 is provided on its outer surface for separating the layer of ice forming on the drum.
On the outer circumference of the drum core 105 a helical guide is provided through which a refrigerant can flow.
This guide is essentially formed by a guide tube 104 for the refrigerant, which consists of helically adjacent turns. This helically wound guide tube 104 is practically wound onto the core 105 made of a good heat-insulating material. Any notches that may arise on the outer surface of the drum 102 as a result of the rounding of the guide tube 104 are filled, according to FIG. 2, with a material 106 with good thermal conductivity.
A significant advantage of the present embodiments is that the drum core 202a or 105, which is made of good heat-insulating material, in conjunction with the good heat-conducting tube 202b or guide tube 104, ensures that the material provided in the grooves 212 or the guide tube 104 The amount of cold is largely released to the surface of the drum and the water or ice located there. This is therefore formed very quickly and cooled down very intensively to below freezing point. On the other hand, the drum core provides very good insulation so that only a very small amount of cold is not passed on into the ice. In addition, the tube 202b forms the only partition between the ice and the refrigerant, which is necessary for a good exchange of heat and cold.
Furthermore, the drum with the aforementioned materials is very dimensionally stable because of the massive drum core, although the choice of the material for the tube 202b or the choice of its wall thickness is not based so much on stability considerations, but above all on refrigeration considerations. The plastic drum core 202a is also easy to manufacture.
