Method for preventing dew point drops in boilers and boilers with
Device for carrying out the method
The present invention relates to a method for preventing the dew point from falling below the dew point in boilers during the transition from night to daytime operation, as well as a heating boiler with a device for carrying out the method.
In many heating systems it is common practice to shut down the system overnight or to reduce the heat output. In technical terminology, this type of operation is called night reduction. The night-time reduction means that when you switch to normal operation, the water that has cooled down in the system overnight flows back into the boiler and cools it down to such an extent that condensate often forms on the convection heating surfaces, especially the flue gas pipes, on the gas side, which is known to increase the risk of corrosion considerably.
The aim of the present invention is to eliminate the risk of falling below the dew point in heating boilers and to create a heating boiler in which such falling below the dew point does not occur.
The inventive method is characterized in that part of the cold return water is short-circuited and led from the return directly into the flow.
The boiler according to the invention is characterized in that flow and return are connected to one another in the immediate vicinity of the boiler by a bypass line and that temperature-controlled means are provided to automatically control the amount of overflow water through the bypass line.
The invention is then explained, for example, with reference to figures. Show it:
1 shows a longitudinal section through a heating boiler in a schematic representation,
FIG. 2 shows a detail from the boiler according to FIG. 1.
The boiler 1 shown in Fig. 1 is equipped with a furnace 3, which is closed off at the front by a furnace door (not shown).
The furnace 3 with the reversing chamber 5 is surrounded by a water jacket 7 which is connected to a flow connection 9 and a return connection 11. The water jacket 7 is penetrated by flue gas pipes 13. The flow connection 9 is connected to the return connection 11 via a bypass pipe 15.
In the area of the confluence of the water return, the flue gas pipes 13 are protected from the direct inflow of return water by means of a baffle plate 17.
In the bypass pipe 15 there is an insert 19 on which a flap 22 is provided, pivotable about a hinge 21, for closing and opening the bypass pipe 15. This flap 22 is also provided with a weight 24 which attempts to turn the flap 22 back into its closed position (dash-dotted line, according to FIG. 2). A support fork 29 is mounted on a bottom or blind flange 27 to terminate the bypass pipe 15, in which a throttle valve 30 is arranged, which is connected to and controlled by a spiral bimetal spring 31. The outer end of the bimetallic spring 31 is fastened in a holder 33, while the inner end is connected to the throttle valve 30.
The throttle valve 30 is connected to the valve 22 in the manner shown in FIG. 2 via a pivoted connection set 25. A stop 34 prevents the flap 30 from over-turning.
The boiler system works as follows:
Normally, the boiler 1 remains heated to the predetermined temperature of 900 C, for example, overnight. The throttle valve 30 is then in a vertical position, while the valve 22 is correspondingly closed. The boiler system's circulation pump is out of operation. When changing from night to day operation, the circulation pump switches on and cold return water flows back through the connection 11 into the boiler 1. This back-flowing water flows past the bimetallic spiral spring 31 and causes it to rotate the throttle valve 30 against its closing movement shown in FIG. 2, opening the valve 22 via the connecting support 25 against the force of the weight 24.
This prevents the entire surge of cold water from entering the boiler, as the main part flows from the return connection 11 via the bypass pipe 15 directly into the flow connection 9 and mixes there with the hot boiler water. The boiler itself is only fed as much cold water as the mixer built into the boiler in the form of the baffle plate 17 can hold in order to keep the water temperature at the critical boiler points noticeably above the dew point temperature so that corrosion cannot occur.
