Dishwasher detergent
The invention relates to a dishwashing detergent.
When cleaning bowls, plates, pots, pans, cups and the like, the removal of organic dirt plays an important role. In particular, the satisfactory removal of food residues adhering to the dishes is associated with considerable difficulties; and all the more so when these leftovers have dried up. Machine or hand dishwashing often includes a soak stage to help remove this food residue. However, even after soaking, removal of starchy food residues, e.g. B. of potatoes and protein-containing leftovers, e.g. B. eggs, milk and the like without scrubbing or stirring is mostly still unsatisfactory. In addition, the previous soaking is time consuming.
It has now been found that these disadvantages can be reduced and a considerable improvement in dirt removal can be obtained if a dishwashing detergent containing amylolytic enzymes is applied to the soiled dishes.
The invention relates to a dishwashing detergent with a pH of 7-9 at a concentration of 3 g / l in aqueous solution, which is characterized in that it contains 0.5 to 90% by weight of an organic surfactant, 1 to 80% by weight. O / o of a water-soluble inorganic synthesis salt and amylolytic enzymes in such an amount that the agent has an amylolytic activity of 10-100 maltose units per kg.
Amylolytic enzymes are known. They can be of vegetable, animal or microorganismic origin. Alpha-amylase has proven particularly suitable for incorporation into the agents according to the invention. Their addition improves and accelerates the removal of food residues from soiled surfaces considerably.
The compositions according to the invention contain an organic surface-active substance with cleaning power, referred to for short as a surfactant, which can be an anionic, nonionic or cationic detergent.
Examples of these are the alkylarylsulfonates, alkanesulfonates, alkyl sulfates, sulfonation products of alpha olefins, soaps, alkylene oxide adducts of alcohols or alkylphenols and the quaternary ammonium compounds. According to the invention, 0.5 to 900/0 surfactants are present, depending on the physical state of the agent (powder, aqueous liquid or non-aqueous liquid). For powders and aqueous liquids the amount can be up to 50%, while for non-aqueous liquids a higher amount of up to 90% can be used.
The agents according to the invention contain water-soluble inorganic synthesis salts in an amount of up to 80%, such as sodium triphosphate and tetrasodium pyrophosphate. You can also use the usual additives, such as. B. sodium silicate, sodium sulfate, foam boosters such as coconut oil ethanol amide, dirt-bearing substances such as sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, alkali or alkaline earth salts such as sodium bicarbonate and borax, solvents such as alcohol, hydrotropes such as urea, bleach activators and per-compounds such as sodium perborate. Furthermore, perfumes, coloring agents, etc. can be added if desired. The pH value of the agents according to the invention 7.0-9.0 at a concentration of 3 gIl in aqueous solution.
Most commercially available dishwashing detergents are strongly alkaline, with a pH in the order of 11. However, such high alkalinity has various drawbacks. For example, objects made of soft metals, such as aluminum, are often exposed to the attack of such strongly alkaline cleaning agents, which can etch aluminum to a considerable extent. These highly alkaline detergents also tend to attack the surfaces of glass objects, resulting in burned unsightly surfaces. Strongly alkaline detergents can also cause skin irritation when used for washing dishes by hand, especially if soaked for long periods.
It is another advantage of the invention that with the inventive dishwashing detergents with a pH between 7 and 9 in aqueous solution with a content of 3 gil of the detergent, the above-mentioned supernatants are reduced to a considerable extent, while the cleaning effect is considerably improved. Even an unsightly glass surface which showed a blue discoloration after cleaning with a strongly alkaline cleaning agent can be cleaned in a satisfactory manner with the agents according to the invention, whereby the blue discoloration is removed in a considerable manner or often even disappears completely.
A low-foaming agent is often desirable for dishwashers. In this case the agent can contain from 2-10% of a nonionic detergent, from 40-60% of a condensed alkali phosphate and from 5-15% of an alkali silicate.
A maximum of 500/0 of the nonionic detergent can be replaced with a cationic one.
An anionic detergent or a mixture of an anionic and a nonionic detergent can be used for medium and high foaming agents.
A foam booster can also be added.
It has been found that a further improvement in the cleaning of soiled dishes is achieved by using a dishwashing detergent which additionally contains proteolytic enzymes. Protein-containing dirt is removed more effectively this way.
The amount of amylolytic enzymes contained in the agent according to the invention depends on their activity, an amount being incorporated such that an activity of 105-106 maltose units (M.E.) per kg of finished product is obtained. The amylolytic activity can be determined by the method of P. Bernfeld in Method of Enzymology Vol. I, 1955, p. 149.
The amount of proteolytic enzymes to be used, if any, depends on their activity. In general, the amount is such that the activity of the enzyme in the end product is between 5 and 20 Anson units per kg of finished product. An Anson unit is the amount of proteolytic enzyme which degrades hemoglobin under the standard conditions as described by Anson in Journal of General Physiology Vol. 22 (1938), p. 79, at an initial rate such that an amount of degradation products is obtained per minute which cannot be precipitated by trichloroacetic acid, which produces the same color intensity as 1 milli-equivalent of tyrosine with the phenol reagent.
When a mixture of amylolytic and proteolytic enzymes is used, the ratio in which these enzymes are used depends on their activity. In general, the activity of the individual enzymes should be within the ranges defined above. The temperature at which the agents according to the invention can be used depends on the enzymes used. When alpha-amylase obtained from microorganisms is used, the temperature can be up to 90 OC before the dirt-removing effect is destroyed.
Agents according to the invention can be composed for machine dishwashing and for hand dishwashing and for a pre-soaking stage before the actual dishwashing with the machine or by hand. They can also be used to clean hard surfaces that are soiled with food debris, such as B.
Kitchen utensils, tiles, sinks, pots, bowls and pans.
The invention is further illustrated in the following examples: in these and elsewhere in the description, the percentages given are by weight.

The same procedure as in Example 7 was used with a high-foaming dishwashing detergent of the following composition: 0 / o by weight
Sodium triphosphate 41
Sodium orthophosphate 21
Sodium silicate 5 H2O 19
Pluronic L 62 1.6
Benzotriazole 0.01
Sodium aluminate 0.4 (pH e 11.6)
The value was 3.4, the appearance of the glasses was blue, the silver had tarnished heavily and the items made of stainless steel were not without stains.
The objects treated with the strongly alkaline detergent were then cleaned with the following agent:% by weight
Sodium triphosphate 50
Sodium dihydrogen phosphate 13
Sodium sulfate 4
Sodium bicarbonate 17
Pluronic 7
Benzotriazole 0.5
Sodium citrate 2.5
Protease (1.5 Anson units) 0.75
Amylase (16,000 M.U / g) 0.25
The value was then 2.9, the glasses were no longer blue, the silver had not tarnished and the items made of stainless steel were without stains.
