Description
Mobile chair with foot and arm rests
The invention relates to a mobile chair with foot and arm rests.
In mobile chairs of the usual construction, the foot and arm rests are usually firmly connected to the frame of the chair; as a result, which is particularly disadvantageous for severely disabled people, climbing on and off the chair is made difficult.
It is already known, for example, to attach the armrests to armchairs so that they can be swiveled so that they can be moved sideways in order to make it easier to get on and off the chair. In special embodiments, such chairs can also be swiveled about a horizontal axis, with the seat and the backrest being adjustable with different inclinations. There are also wheel chairs with removable footrests are known to better handle the chair and to the chair closer to other objects, such. B. walls, tables or beds to be able to produce. The footrests can be attached to the frame by means of chains, which makes it easier for the patient to loosen or remove the footrests. However, the previously known constructions have the disadvantage that they are not easy to handle by severely disabled people.
The purpose of the invention is to create a mobile chair which does not have these disadvantages and in which, in particular, provision is made that the chair can be easily climbed on and off.
The mobile chair according to the invention is characterized in that the footrest and the armrest are carried by a carrier on at least one side of the chair which can be pivoted outwards and backwards.
According to an expedient embodiment of the mobile chair, the footrests can be adjusted for different leg positions of the patient by an adjustment device.
The frame preferably consists of two parts which are pivotably connected to one another and whose joint is at a height which corresponds to the height of the knee joint of a person sitting in the chair. The adjustment of the angle between the horizontal piece of the side part of the frame and the part that carries the footrest can be done by operating a handwheel.
In the following, a preferred embodiment of the mobile chair according to the invention is explained with reference to the drawing, for example.
The only figure shows a mobile chair with an electric drive motor and foot and arm rests.
The chair has a frame 1, which can consist of tubular steel, as well as a seat 2 and a backrest 3.
The chair has two large front wheels 4 which are not steerable. The chair is also provided with armrests 5 and footrests 6, which are mounted on a carrier which consists of two carrier parts 7 and 8 which can be pivoted against one another. These carrier parts can be pivoted sideways about the practically vertical axis of part 9. The two carrier parts 7 and 8 can be connected to one another by means of a bolt 10, for example. The angle between the horizontal support part 8 and the support part 7 carrying the footrest is adjustable by means of a rotatable handwheel 11 mounted on a housing 14, by means of which two telescopic tubes 12 and 13 can be adjusted against each other.
By turning the handwheel 11 in one direction or the other, the angle between the two carrier parts 7 and 8 is adjusted, whereby the footrest is raised or lowered.
The height of the swivel joint 10 corresponds to the height of the knee joint of a person sitting in a chair; This means that a change in the angle between the aforementioned support parts causes the patient's legs to pivot in the knee joint. Each of the footrests consists of a plate 6 with angled edge parts 19 for supporting the feet. The distance between the plate 6 and the joint 10 can be adjusted individually by adjusting the holding tube 20, at the end of which the plate 6 is tiltably attached.
A control box 22, which is provided with a rotary knob 23 for controlling the wheeled chair, is attached near one armrest. The box can be pivoted about a shaft 24 pointing downwards from the armrest and thereby folded away to the side so that the patient can move the chair close to a table.
