Screw connection for pipes made of plastic material The invention relates to a screw connection for pipes made of plastic material, in particular plastic pipes, with a conically widened pipe end stiffened from the inside by a support pipe, consisting of a the pipe end receiving, inside conically narrowing fitting body,
a clamping sleeve arranged in the annular space between the pipe end and the screw connection body and a clamping means which presses the clamping sleeve into the annular space.
A common type of connection of a screw connection with a plastic pipe is that a separate, conical support tube is hammered into the pipe end, which conically widens the pipe end, and that the conically widened pipe end in the screw connection body of the screw connection by means of is attached to a clamp sleeve pushed over,
which is pressed into the annular space between the conical surface of the pipe end and a conical inner surface of the screw connection body by a clamping device formed as a union nut or flange, depending on the pipe size and at the same time acts as a sealing element between the pipe end and screw connection body.
For this purpose, screw connections of the type mentioned are known which have a simple, internally essentially cylindrical and smooth clamping sleeve, which presses with its front end against the screw body and the pipe end in a sealing manner, the front end of the clamping sleeve possibly also slightly in the pipe material can squeeze in, and in this way the clamping of the pipe end acts be.
It has now been found that the fastening, by means of the known clamping sleeves, is not sufficiently secure and reliable when there are high pressures in the pipe and high tensile forces are thereby exerted on the pipe.
Because precisely because of the special properties of plastics, there is a great risk that the plastic material of the pipe clamped by the front end of the known clamping sleeves deforms plastically and evades the clamping effect of the front clamping sleeve end, so that the pipe end of the plastic pipe passes through despite the conical expansion the support tube gradually slips back through the clamping sleeve over time.
In the case of metal pipes, mainly steel pipes, it is known per se to provide the clamping sleeve at its front end with a cutting edge that cuts into the surface of the metal pipe and penetrates the material and in this way prevents the metal pipe from slipping back in the clamping sleeve. This measure is very questionable even with pipes made of copper or lead and is especially not applicable to plastic pipes because of the formation of incisions in the raw material and because of the harmful and disadvantageous notch effect caused by it.
Screw connections are also known in which the cylindrical end of a plastic pipe is clamped in a sealing manner by means of a radially compressible, slotted spring ring on a support tube-like extension of the screw body and is held on the screw body. One of the defects of this type of screw connection is that it is not suitable or is only suitable for plastic pipes made of a hard plastic and, moreover, with a large wall thickness, with the use of very high clamping and deformation forces.
The invention has the task of creating a screw connection of the type mentioned, with the avoidance of harmful or disadvantageous interventions in the pipe material, a firmer and more secure hold of the pipe end of a pipe made of plastic material, in particular a plastic pipe, through one of the properties of the pipe material is achieved in a way that is appropriate to the material.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the front part of the clamping sleeve engages in a sealing and clamping manner in the conically narrowing space between the surface of the tube and the inner surface of the screw connection body and that the clamping sleeve has a smooth cylindrical inner surface and one with Provide longitudinal slots and by means of the clamping means by means of conical pressure surfaces on the clamping sleeve and / or on the clamping means radially compressible rear part has.
This clamping sleeve thus causes a first clamping of the tube at its end protruding into the screw connection body and a second clamping of the tube at its end protruding from the screw connection body. With this double clamping of the pipe, a significantly improved and more reliable fastening of the pipe in the screw connection is achieved and guaranteed if the pipe material is handled appropriately, in particular plastic materials.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the clamping sleeve is preferably provided on its rear part with an inner cross-section of the clamping sleeve that narrows by a certain amount. With such a clamping sleeve, certain pipes and in particular pipes with a relatively large diameter and correspondingly large wall thickness can be reliably clamped in the screw connection for relatively high line pressures.
In the case of pipes with a relatively small diameter and correspondingly small wall thickness, in which comparatively lower forces occur in the screw connection and therefore the pressure of the pipe in the screw connection does not need to be so high and in which there is a certain penetration of the inner-walled shoulder of the clamping sleeve into the Surface of the thinner-walled pipe could possibly have a detrimental effect, the clamping sleeve can also be used to clamp the pipe in the screw connection without a shoulder, which is sufficient and is much safer and more reliable than with the previously known,
customary clamping sleeves in the form of an unslit pipe section, which clamp the pipe surface in a sealing manner only with their front end by being axially pressed into the screw connection body. An even further increase in the aforementioned effect of the slotted clamping sleeve can be achieved in that the outer surface of the clamping sleeve is convex, with the longitudinal slots preferably extending approximately into the region of the apex of the spherical curvature of the outer surface.
In this way it is achieved that when the clamping sleeve is pressed into the screwing body, only part of its axial length protruding into the screwing body rests on the screwing body for as long as possible and thus opposes the axial clamping force of the clamping device with a reduced frictional resistance and that the from The radial pressure forces exerted on the clamping sleeve have a predominantly and reinforced effect on the segments of the rear clamping sleeve part formed by the longitudinal slots,
so that these segments, in addition to the radial clamping force exerted by the clamping element, are also pressed radially against the pipe by the screwing body, whereby the pipe is clamped extremely firmly between the clamping sleeve and the support tube.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing voltage, which shows two embodiments of a screw connection according to the invention with a pipe end in axial center section.
The screw connection shown in Figure 1 consists of a screw body 1, a clamping device designed as a union nut 2 and a clamping sleeve 3. The pipe 4 to be connected to the screw connection is conically widened at its end by a conical support tube 5, which the pipe end of stiffened or supported inside. Before the supporting tube 5 is driven into the pipe end, the union nut 2 and the clamping sleeve 3 have been pushed onto the pipe 4.
To fix the pipe end 5 in the screw connection body 1 and at the same time seal the pipe end 5 against the screw connection body 1, the clamping sleeve 3 is pushed into the annular space between the pipe and the screw connection body 1 and the union nut 2 is screwed onto the screw connection body 1. The end of the clamping sleeve 3 protruding into the screw connection body 1 is pressed sealingly against the conical inner surface 6 of the screw connection body 1 and pressed against the surface of the tube 4 in a sealing manner.
As a result, the tube 4 is clamped for the first time at the front end of the clamping sleeve 3. The pipe material can be thrown into a small annular bead in front of the front end of the clamping sleeve 3 by the pressure of the front end of the clamping sleeve 3 on the pipe surface, which promotes the Klemmwir effect. The end of the clamping sleeve 3 protruding from the screw connection body 1 is provided with slots 7 running in the longitudinal direction of the clamping sleeve 3, so that the rear end of the clamping sleeve 3 can be radially compressed. The rear end of the clamping sleeve 3 is supported on a conical pressure surface 8 of the union nut 2.
The inner diameter of the rear end of the clamping sleeve 3 is reduced relative to the inner diameter of the front end of the clamping sleeve 3 such that the rear end of the clamping sleeve 3 has a circumferential shoulder 9 on the inside. As soon as the front end of the clamping sleeve 3 is pressed firmly against the conical inner surface 6 and against the pipe surface when the clamping sleeve 3 is pushed forward by means of the union nut 2, the resistance increases sharply, so that when the union nut 2 is tightened further, the rear end of the clamping sleeve 3 radially is compressed and thereby the school ter 9 is squeezed into the pipe surface, where in front of the shoulder 9 the pipe material raises into an annular bead.
In this way, the shoulder 9 brings about a reinforced, second clamping of the pipe 4, so that the pipe has an extraordinarily firm and secure hold in the screw connection body 1. The depth of penetration of the shoulder 9 in the pipe surface depends on the extent to which the shoulder 9 narrows the clear inner cross-section of the collet because the shoulder 9 can only penetrate until the collet 3 rests snugly on the pipe surface. The depth of penetration can therefore be determined exactly by the height of the shoulder 9, as a result of which disadvantageous and undesired damage to the pipe surface can be avoided with certainty.
The screw connection shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 has a clamping sleeve 10 which is not provided with a shoulder on its cylindrical inner surface, the outer surface of which, as can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3, is of spherical design, with the longitudinal slots 11 extend up to the vicinity of the apex of the convex curvature of the outer surface.
2 shows the screw connection in a stage which is present at the beginning of the screwing of the union nut 2 onto the union body 1 and largely still in the course of the tightening of the union nut 2. Here, due to the spherical curvature of its outer surface, the clamping sleeve 10 rests against the inner surface of the screwing body 1 with only a small part of its axial length protruding into the screwing body and therefore only causing little frictional resistance.
This point of contact is of course still in front of the deepest point of the longitudinal slots 11. When the union nut 2 is tightened, the front end of the clamping sleeve 10 is pressed against the pipe surface and the rear, slotted clamping sleeve part is radially compressed by the union nut 2, whereby the one from the ver - Screw body 1 on the spherical outer surface of the clamping sleeve 10 exerted radial pressure forces on the rear clamping sleeve part.
As the axial clamping force of the union nut 2 increases, the clamping sleeve 10, which is usually made of a relatively hard plastic, more and more assumes the shape and position illustrated in FIG. Fig. 3 shows that the front end of the clamping sleeve 10 presses against the pipe surface with high pressure and thereby causes a first clamping of the pipe and a seal between the pipe and the clamping sleeve, the pipe material closing in front of the front end of the clamping sleeve 10 can raise a small annular bead that promotes the clamping effect and sealing.
The front end of the clamping sleeve 10 does not necessarily have to be in direct contact with the screw connection body 1 for this purpose. Furthermore, the spherical outer surface of the clamping sleeve 10 flattens out somewhat, so that the contact surface between the clamping sleeve 10 and the screw connection body 1 expands on the one hand towards the front of the clamping sleeve end, which causes a perfect seal of the front clamping sleeve part against the screw connection body, and on the other hand towards the rear The clamping sleeve expands towards the end,
so that the segments of the rear clamping sleeve part formed by the longitudinal slots 11 come even more strongly under the influence of the radial pressure forces exerted by the screw connection body on the clamping sleeve and are pressed with very high pressure onto the pipe surface, whereby the pipe is extremely tight between the slots Clamping sleeve part and the support tube 5 is clamped in a second clamping.
In the event that the hardness of the pipe material or an increase in the anchoring effect make it appear expedient, the intrinsically smooth inner surface of the clamping sleeve 10 can also be provided with roughening in the form of known grooves or ribs or the like running in the circumferential direction be provided.
Tubes made of plastic material are also to be understood as meaning those tubes which may, for. B. made of lead or soft copper.
