Temperature control device The invention relates to a temperature control device for controlling different working temperatures of liquids in hot water containers, in particular the containers of washing machines and dishwashers, with a thermistor immersed in the liquid, for example a heat conductor, whose temperature-variable flow rate via a Amplifier is amplified and acts on a pulse generator at a certain current level, which actuates a switching element, for example a switch that switches off the heating,
or advances a program switch.
Temperature control devices of the aforementioned type using a hot conductor are already known, and the arrangement is such that when a certain temperature and thus a certain current value is reached, a switching coil is excited and a switching process is effected with corresponding current amplification. This arrangement has the disadvantage that in the event of any malfunction in the tem perature control device, for example by failure of a transistor, by opening a line or the like, now the work current required for switching is no longer achieved and thus z.
B. the heating system is not switched off, but continues to work, which then damaging the entire device and can be put out of operation. It is particularly important to note that damage to the heating system can also result in consequential damage such as burning out the machine and building fire.
In order to avoid these disadvantages, according to the invention, the temperature control device defined at the beginning is characterized in that the pulse generator closes the working circuit of the switching element leading to the loads as long as the temperature is below the prescribed temperature and when the predetermined temperature is reached this working circuit opens. This ensures that in the event of any fault in the control device, the pulse generator returns to its rest position and can be switched off or
Further switching of the switching element also switches off the relevant device controlled by the temperature control device or switches it further according to the program and thus protects. In the case of warming serbehältern warm water, for example, the heating resistors, and possibly also the entire facility, switched abge. This results in an intrinsic fuse that works automatically without additional funds and therefore works completely reliably because any interruption in the circuit of the temperature control device can lead to no other effect than switching off or switching on.
The pulse generator can have a single coil which is connected to the amplifier in such a way that the excitation current of this coil decreases with increasing temperature and with a thermistor designed as a hot conductor. The arrangement can be made in such a way that the pulse generator is in the working position at a certain level of excitation and returns to its rest position when the excitation drops to a predetermined level or zero.
This pulse coil can be, for example, the coil egg nes electromagnet, which acts directly or indirectly on the switching element. This means that, for example, this switching element can be switched on and off directly by the armature of an electromagnet, or a pair of contacts in the circuit of a switching coil of a contactor or a stepping motor can also be opened and closed by such a movable element.
A particularly favorable construction results when the pulse generator is an impulse relay, the rest contacts of which lie in the excitation circuit of the switching element. When the impulse relay is excited with the help of a certain current, the normally closed contacts are then opened, whereby the circuit of an actuating coil of the switching element , for example of the shooter, is opened, which is closed in the idle state. When the excitation current drops to a predetermined level or to zero, the normally closed contacts of the relay are closed and thus also the circuit of the contactor's actuation coil, whereupon it pulls and the contactor opens.
The temperature control device with its main components, but excluding the thermistor and the preselection switch, can be combined into a structural unit and accommodated in a housing. This structural unit is preferably connected via plug connections.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. 1 shows a simplified circuit diagram of a control device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the temperature control device according to the invention arranged in a housing, FIG. 3 shows an end view according to FIG.
In the following, the circuit diagram of FIG. 1 will first be described in more detail. The temperature control device is characterized as a whole with 19 be.
The connection network of a three-phase current source is denoted by R, S, T and MP and leads to a main switch 10, from which four supply lines 11, 12, 13 and the neutral conductor 14 lead to the temperature control device. The three switch arms of a contactor designated as a whole with 15 are connected to the aforementioned three lines 11, 12 and 13, and from the contactor lead lines to each Weil a heating resistor 16, 17 and 18, which are connected to each other in the star and are arranged in a tub 20, indicated only by dash-dotted lines, so that the liquid in the tub 20 is now heated when the heating windings 16-18 are switched on.
The switching coil 21 of the contactor 15 is connected to the line 11 and furthermore via a socket 24 to the normally closed contact 25 of a pulse relay designated as Gan zes with 26, on the Re relay coil 27 will be discussed in more detail below.
The primary winding of a transformer 28 is connected to the line T and MP via two sockets 24, with which the normally closed contacts 25 of the relay 26 are also connected. An all-wave rectifier 30, to which a positive line 38 and a negative line 40 are connected, is connected to the secondary winding of the transformer 28. In parallel with the sem there is a smoothing capacitor 31 and parallel to the capacitor and rectifier two resistors 32 and 33, which form a voltage divider for the base of a PNP transistor 34.
A resistor 41 is connected to the plus line 38 and is connected to the emitter of the transistor 34, the collector of which is connected to the minus line 40 via a resistor 42.
A further PNP transistor is denoted by 44, the emitter of which is connected to the resistor 41 and to the emitter of the transistor 34 and whose collector is connected to one side of the relay coil 27, the other side of which is connected to the negative line 40. The base of the transistor 44 is connected via a plug 23 to one side of a hot conductor 45 arranged in the tub 20 of the heating resistors, the other side of which is connected to the positive line 38 via a plug 23.
A group of series resistors 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 is connected to the connecting line between the base of the transistor 44 and the associated plug 23, from their connection points via plug 23 lines to preselector switches 51, 52, 53, 54 and 55, which are operated via the pushbuttons 56, 57, 58, 59 and 60, respectively.
It should also be mentioned that the arrangement of the two transistors 34 and 44 is what is known as a differential amplifier, which is particularly advantageous for the small currents occurring here.
In the following, the operation of the circuit described before will now be explained in more detail. It is assumed that the main switch 10, the contactor 15 and the pulse relay (26) are in the position shown. If, for example, the liquid in the tub is to be heated from 20 to 60, the key 58 is pressed and the preselection switch 53 is closed. Here, the two ballast resistors 50 and 49 are short-circuited. Only the resistors 48, 47, 46 are connected one behind the other in the relevant line, so that they determine the desired temperature in connection with the hot conductor 45.
As a result of the voltage now applied to the base of transistor 44, it is fully activated and relay coil 27 receives a comparatively high excitation current, so that the pulse relay is actuated and thus the normally closed contacts 25 are open. Since the circuit of the switching coil 21 of the switch is open protect, which is in its rest position, d. H. in the closed position, so that the heating resistors 16, 17 and 18 are switched on and are connected to voltage.
As is well known, the hot conductor has a very high resistance at room temperature, of the order of magnitude of 2.5k ohms, which then decreases at higher temperatures and reaches a value of approximately 330 ohms at 90. If the temperature is now increased by the heating resistors 16, 17, 18 in the bot tich 20, the resistance of the hot conductor 45 decreases and reaches a predetermined resistance value at the temperature of 60. During this entire decrease in resistance, the current in transistor 44 falls as a result of the constantly increasing voltage at the base, and thus also the excitation current of relay coil 27.
When the predetermined temperature is reached, this excitation current has fallen so far that the pulse relay 26 drops out. As a result, the rest contacts 25 and thus also the circuit of the switching coil 21 are closed so that the contactor 15 is actuated, which in this case means that the three heating resistors 16, 17 and 18 are switched off.
When pressing other buttons, the process is similar to that described above.
It follows from the entire description of this inventive circuit that in the event of any malfunction in the temperature control device, the pulse relay 26 returns to its rest position in which the rest contacts 25 are closed and the energized contactor is open.
In washing machines or dishwashers, instead of this switch shown here for the sake of simplicity, there is usually a program switch or a step switch. In this case, this contactor is not switched off, but rather the program switch or stepping mechanism is switched on by a pulse by one step, so that the rest of the program can now run to the end, even though there may be an error or an error in the temperature control device There is a fault.
In Figure 2, the temperature control device is shown as a whole. This is housed in a housing designated as a whole with 80, which consists of egg nem housing upper part 81 and a lower housing part 82, which are held together by any fastening means or attached to a carrier. The arrangement of the individual components accordingly to the circuit inside the housing is not shown. It should only be mentioned that a printed circuit board is arranged in the lower part 82, which has a printed circuit on the egg NEN side and carries the components of the circuit according to FIG. 1 including the transformer on the other side.
On both opposite end faces, the housing 80 has a mouth-like opening in each of which a number of plugs 83 are arranged, of which only one group is shown in FIG. 3. Opposite these connectors there is a further group of connectors, which, however, cannot be seen in FIGS.
These connector pins are schematically indicated in FIG. 1 and designated there by 24 and 23, the connector pins of the hot conductor 45 then being arranged on the mains voltage side for even distribution of the connectors on the sides in the actual embodiment.
On the top of the upper part 81 Be labels for the connector are attached.
Instead of a hot conductor, the entire circuit could easily be designed for a PTC thermistor. It is then only necessary to ensure that as the resistance of the PTC thermistor increases, the excitation current of the pulse coil 27 also decreases when the temperature increases.
