A/A', B/B', C/C usw. dar.
I' zum Punkt A bzw. A' in die Ausgangslage zurück.
Controlled Lathe The present invention relates to a controlled lathe with at least two controlled feed directions for the tool.
Known mechanically or hydraulically controlled lathes with a longitudinal slide for moving the tool in the direction of the axis of rotation of the work piece and a cross slide for moving the tool in a perpendicular direction have the disadvantage that the cutting conditions of the tool are not for everyone on the same workpiece performed turning operations are optimal.
For example, when longitudinally turning a first surface, the cutting edge of the turning tool with the working surface forms an optimal setting angle, this is no longer the case when a subsequent facing of a second surface inclined to the first surface.
The purpose of the invention is to avoid this disadvantage.
According to the invention, the lathe is characterized in that the tool is attached to a round slide which is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the workpiece and whose drive is also controlled.
An embodiment of the invention is then described with reference to figures. There are shown: FIG. 1 in a schematic representation, parts of a lathe and a numerical control, FIG. 2 in a schematic representation, the tool movement during a machining process.
In Fig. 1, a longitudinal slide 3 and a transverse slide 5 of a lathe can be seen. The longitudinal slide 3 is slidably arranged on anchored Füh ments 1 in the machine bed. The cross slide 5 is slidably arranged on guides, not shown, which are located on the longitudinal slide 3. A base 6 is screwed onto the cross slide 5. A round slide 7 is arranged on the base 6 so as to be rotatable about an axis 24. The round slide 7 carries a tool holder 9 with a tool 10, the tip of which is denoted by 12. Furthermore, a workpiece 14 can be seen which is clamped in a driver 13. The guides 1 of the longitudinal slide 3 are parallel to the axis of rotation 17 of the driver 13. The direction of movement of the longitudinal slide 3 is referred to in the follow with the y-direction.
The direction of movement of the cross slide 5 is perpendicular to the y-direction and is referred to as the x-direction. The axis of rotation 24 of the round slide 7 is perpendicular to the axis of rotation 17 of the workpiece 14 and perpendicular to the x and y directions, that is to say in the z direction. The angle of rotation of the round slide 7 about the axis of rotation 24 is denoted by p in the following.
An adjusting spindle 19 is provided by a not Darge, fixed in the longitudinal slide 3 threaded nut leads ge. Another adjusting spindle 21 is guided by a nut, not shown, fastened in the cross slide 5 thread. A third adjusting spindle 23 is guided through a bearing 8 fastened on the base 6 and is in engagement with a ring gear (not shown) fastened to the round slide 7.
Each adjusting spindle 19, 21, 23 is coupled to an actuator 25, 27 or 29, which contains, for example, an adjusting motor, a transmission and circuit parts that are required to convert an electrical manipulated variable into a control current for the motor. Furthermore, a measuring element 31, 33 or 35 is coupled to each adjusting spindle 19, 21, 23.
A perforated tape 41 is arranged as a program carrier between two support reels 40. A reader 42 emits electrical impulses to a program control unit 43. This is connected on the one hand via the line 45 to other machine parts, not shown, and on the other hand via the line 47 to an interpolator 49. Output signals of the interpolator 49 reach one of the inputs of the comparators 57, 59 and 61 via the lines 51, 53 and 55. The output signals of the measuring elements 31, 33, 35 are fed to the other inputs of the comparators 57, 59 and 61. The outputs of the comparators 57, 59 and 61 are connected to the actuators 25, 27 and 29, respectively.
The punched tape reader 42 supplies coded control and form signals stored in the punched tape 41 to the program control unit 43. In the program control unit, these signals are decoded and stored and the decoded signals are distributed according to their various functions. For example, signals which relate to switching information, ie preparatory and auxiliary information, such as switching main spindle speeds of the coolant inflow etc. on and off, etc., are switched to line 45. Shape signals or coordinate signals, which correspond to path information, are switched through to line 47, however.
A test system can also be built into the program control unit, which on the one hand checks the signals coming from the tape reader and on the other hand checks the functions of the machine control using a test program. In addition, the correct coordination of the signals takes place in the program control unit.
In the interpolator 49, the target value specification signals for the drive of the longitudinal slide 3, the cross slide 5 and the round slide 7 are generated. From the few pieces of information coming from the punched tape via the program control unit 43 for the curve pieces that make up the trajectory, Along which the workpiece is to be machined, numerous path points are determined by the interpolator within each curve segment and transmitted as setpoint values to the comparators 57, 59, 61.
The query of the preset values stored in the interpolator 49 or the triggering of arithmetic operations is carried out by control signals that are fed to the interpolator via the program control unit 43 from the punched tape 41. Such control signals arrive at the interpolator 49 at the beginning of the machining of each stretch of the work surface of the workpiece and include, for example, information about the total feed in the x and y directions, the radius of rotation and the angle of rotation p of the tool tip. For this purpose, the interpolator 49 contains computing and / or storage elements in a known manner.
In addition, the setpoint values determined for the various feed directions x, y, 99 of a curve segment are coordinated in the interpolator 49 in such a way that the tool remains continuously engaged with the workpiece along the desired trajectory and the same at every point on the trajectory Forms an angle to the tangent to the trajectory. The interpolator 49 outputs separate pulses for each coordinate x, y, p to the lines 53, 51, 55, the distance between the pulses corresponding to a fixed increment of the relevant coordinate of the trajectory and the pulse frequency determining the longitudinal speed of the tool the train is.
The setpoint values determined by the interpolator 49 for the drives of the longitudinal slide 3, the cross slide 5 and the round slide 7 are compared in the comparators 57, 59, 61 assigned to these drives with the actual values supplied by the measuring elements 31, 33, 35. The deviation obtained by the comparison is fed to the actuators 25, 27, 29 as a manipulated variable.
The measuring system containing the measuring elements can be digital. In this case, the comparators 57, 59, 61 consist of differential counters, the status of which is fed to the actuators 25, 27, 29 via a digital-to-analog converter (not shown). If, on the other hand, the measuring elements work analogously, the comparison of the target / actual values is also carried out analogously. For this purpose, the digital setpoints of the interpolator 49 are fed to the comparators 57, 59, 61 via digital-to-analog converters (not shown). If the measuring system is not incremental but rather absolute, the pulses coming from integrator 49 must first be added up in integrators with the correct sign.
In the numerical control shown schematically in FIG. 1, an internal interpolator is used, which calculates the points of the path to be followed by the tool and the setting angle of the tool for each point and generates the corresponding default values for the drives. Another possible embodiment of the control is, in a manner known per se, the use of an external interpolator that stores all interpolated individual values in digital or analog form, for example on a magnetic tape, and feeds them to the control. The control of the lathe is then easier because it no longer contains an interpolator.
In contrast, the programming is more complicated and there is a dependency on a data center and a failure-prone and complex magnetic tape playback system.
For machining operations in which only one coordinate direction x, y is moved in each case by only shifting the cross slide 5 or the longitudinal slide 3 (FIG. 1), the requirements of a pure path control are decisive.
These include the specification of the start and end point of the route along which it is moved, or just the end point alone, as well as the specification of the setting angle of the tool with respect to the work surface of the workpiece and the feed rate. The corre sponding default values can be taken directly from the punched tape 41 or the program control unit 43, since they are stored there in any case. The interpolator is therefore not necessary per se for such machining operations.
The same applies to the creation of recesses, such as grooves, the contour of which is arcuate, but only provided that the distance between the rotary tip 12 of the tool 10 from the axis of rotation 24 of the round slide 7 for a given setting angle with the radius of the circle arc of the recess matches. If this is the case, only the round slide 7 needs to be turned for turning, but not the longitudinal slide 3 or the cross slide 5.
An automatic adjustment of the tool in order to give it a predetermined, for example constant setting angle to the work surface in every position along a predetermined path, as well as the Nachfüh ren of the tool along the desired path, but be conditioned simultaneous movements of the tool in all three directions x , y and (p. This is also necessary if the setting angle of the tool to the work surface is to be adjusted so that the tool tip remains in contact with the workpiece at the junction of two sections of the path that do not continuously merge into one another.
In this case, the tool has to be rotated around its tip, which requires simultaneous feeds in the x and y directions as well as a turning of the round slide. The interpolator 49 is therefore provided in a manner known per se in order to generate the default values for the drives corresponding to the directions of movement mentioned in accordance with the functional relationships between the coordinates x, y, p. Since the trajectory of the tool tip 12 depends on the angle of rotation p of the round slide 7 about its axis of rotation 24, it is useful to program the trajectory of the axis of rotation 24 and the angle of rotation p of the tool 10 corresponding to the desired trajectory of the tool tip.
The sequence of a processing step is described below with reference to FIG. The cylindrical workpiece 14, partially shown in section through its axis of rotation 17, is shown here with the end face already being worked, which consists of two plange turned parts and a circular channel 16 limited in section by a circular arc section. The path 65 of the pivoting center 24 of the turning tool 10, which corresponds to the axis of rotation 24 of the round slide 7 (FIG. 1), is denoted by the letters A to I and consists of the lines A-B, B-C, C-D, etc. together. The corresponding path 67 of the turning steel tip 12 runs according to points A 'to I'. The straight lines connecting the turning steel tip 12 with the pivoting center 24 accordingly represent the straight lines A / A ', B / B', C / C etc. for each position.
To achieve the optimal cutting conditions, the turning tool 10 has a corresponding setting angle y between the cutting surface 11 and the working surface 15 or a setting angle a, with which the straight line connecting the turning tool tip with the pivot center 24 with respect to the working surface 15 or the tangent to the trajectory the turning steel tip 12 is inclined at the machining point. In FIG. 2, these setting angles a are shown for different points C, D ', E', F 'and H'. In order not to complicate the overview, the turning tool 10 itself is only shown at point C of the turning tool tip 12. In Fig. 2, the three directions of movement y, x and q, corresponding to the directions of movement of the longitudinal slide 3, the cross slide 5 and the round slide 7 (Fig. 1) are shown.
In the starting position, the pivot center 24 of the turning tool 10 is at point A and the turning tool tip 12 at point A '.
In a first movement process, the pivot center 24 is displaced in the x-direction to point B, so that the turning steel tip 12 comes to rest in point B '. According to FIG. 1, this is done by moving the cross slide 5. In a second movement process, the pivoting center is shifted in the y direction from point B to point C or the turning steel tip from point B 'to point C. For this purpose, the longitudinal slide 3 postponed. The turning steel tip 12 is now set up in the position required for machining the end face of the workpiece 15 and also has the desired setting angle a to the subsequently machined surface.
In the third movement process, the workpiece is facing up to point D '. For this purpose, the cross slide 5 is again moved in the y-direction so that the pivot center comes to rest in point D.
Now the channel 16 has to be turned, for which the turning tool first has to be brought into the desired setting angle a to the tangent to the circular arc-shaped path 16 at point D '. For this purpose, in a fourth movement process, a simultaneous displacement of the longitudinal slide 3 (y-direction) and the cross slide 5 (x-direction) as well as a rotation of the round slide 7 by the angle ss in such a way that the turning tool tip 12 at point D 'remains in peace. The pivot center 24 makes a Be movement along an arc from point D to point E, the resulting shift of pivot center 24 in the x or y direction by corrective shifts of the longitudinal and cross slide accordingly and depending on the z movement be retired. The points D 'and E' therefore coincide.
In the subsequent fifth movement process, the actual machining process, the turning tool 10 is guided along the trajectory 16 by simultaneously moving the longitudinal slide 3 (y-direction) and the cross slide 5 (x-direction) as well as by rotating the round slide so that at each point the connecting straight turning steel tip pivot center with the tangent to the trajectory forms the same constant angle a. This means that the optimal cutting conditions for the turning tool are met at every machining point. During this process, the pivot center describes a circular arc between the points E-F-G, the center of which is the center M of the circular arc-shaped contour 16.
The total rotation is 2 ss for reasons of symmetry.
At point G ', in a sixth movement process, the turning tool 10, as already described, is rotated about its tip 12 so that the setting angle to the subsequently machined surface of the workpiece 15 is again a (angle of rotation ss). The pivot center follows an arc of a circle, namely from point G to point H.
In a seventh movement process, the face turning of the edge part of the workpiece 14 takes place by moving the cross slide 5 (x-direction) to move the pivoting center 24 from point H to point I and thus the turning steel tip 12 from point H 'to point I' .
In the eighth and last movement process, the swivel center 24 and the turning tool tip 12 return to the starting position by moving the longitudinal slide 3 (y-direction) from point I or I 'to point A or A'.
For all these movement processes, the drives are controlled by the interpolator 49. While the displacements of the tool in the x or y direction, for example in the sections AB or BC, are the control of an individual drive, who moves the tool within a specified distance at a specified feed speed, must be supplied to all three drives adjustment signals in the case of the curved trajectory, taking into account the cutting angle of the tool, which are in a certain given mathematical relationship.
It is readily apparent that for this purpose the characteristic values of the trajectory, i.e. H. the curve of the tool tip 12 should be entered and stored in the interpolator 49, but rather those of the curve of the axis of rotation 24 and the angular position of the round slide 7.
While an exemplary embodiment with a numerical control is described above, there is also the possibility of solving the object on which this invention is based with a hydraulic or electrical control with control means known per se. For this purpose, however, separate input means, such as templates, rail fields or the like, which are coordinated with one another, are necessary for each direction of movement x, y and p. A numerical control has the advantage over these solutions of greater versatility and accuracy.
