Pipe screw connection with union nut for a tank line, with electrically insulating spacers The present invention relates to a pipe union with union nut for a tank line, with electrically insulating spacers, by means of which unwanted electrical potentials are kept away from the tank and can be measured when installed.
The storage tanks laid in the ground usually have a metallic connection with a pump driven by an electric motor through their product lines. For reasons of personal protection, however, this electric motor must be connected to an earth or neutral conductor in order to avoid dangerous contact voltages in the event of insulation faults. Due to this protective conductor, however, the tank has unwanted far-reaching metallic connections with objects that, due to their location, for. B. Near the train, or their physical nature direct unwanted electrical direct currents to the tank and leak there into the ground.
Such escaping currents wear the tank iron electrolytically and are one of the main risks of a tank leaking.
As countermeasures, it is known to separate the product lines and reunite them with an insulating tube or a solid insulating piece. This measure keeps the undesired currents away from the tank.
But so that the manhole cover of the tank can be easily removed from the manhole when cleaning the tank, the product lines must be provided with a screw connection, so that such a line thus contains a screw connection and an insulating piece. In order to be able to carry out a test of the insulation capability of the individual pipe sections at any time, two insulating sections arranged one behind the other with a metal spacer must therefore always be installed in such lines.
The intermediate metal piece, for example a pipe, serves as a measuring electrode against each outer side or against the tank and pump side.
The present invention avoids the disadvantage of the arrangement of two insulating pieces arranged one behind the other and combines in a simple manner all construction requirements. The invention is characterized in that the union nut is the one measuring electrode and that on each side of the pipe a threaded piece in engagement with the union nut is isolated from the pipe end by an electrically insulating intermediate piece and the two pipe ends that are insulated against one another are the counter electrodes.
In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of a Rohrverschrau according to the invention is shown. The figure shows a section through the screw connection.
On the two pipe ends 8 and 9, the two pipe pieces 5 and 6 are screwed and normally form a normal screw connection with the threaded pieces 1 and 2, which are held together by means of the union nut 3 who the. In the present case, the electrically insulating intermediate piece 7 is arranged on each pipe side between the pipe section 5 and 6. It has a Ge thread on its outside with a stop for receiving the threaded piece 1 or 2. Between the opposite end faces of these threaded pieces 1 and 2 is the sealing ring 4, which is pressed together by the union nut when screwed together.
The pipe sections 5 and 6 can be made of metal or plastic and the electrically insulating intermediate piece 7 can be a piece of cast resin or a solid plastic body.
During assembly, the screwed part consisting of parts 1, 7 and 5 is screwed onto the pipe end 8. The second screwing part consisting of parts 2, 3, 6 and 7 is also screwed onto the other pipe end 9. The seal 4 is then inserted between the end faces of the threaded pieces 1 and 2 and the screw connection is screwed together by means of the union nut 3.
In the installed state, the union nut, which is connected to the threaded pieces 2 and 1, forms a measuring electrode, the pipe end 9, which is connected to the pipe section 6, the one articulated electrode and the pipe end 8, which is connected to the pipe section 5 is connected to the other counter electrode.
