Transportable compressed air container for filling vehicle tires The invention relates to a transportable compressed air container, preferably connected to a tire inflation meter, for filling electric vehicle tires, with a connection device for connecting the inlet port of the compressed air container to a stationary compressed air line.
Such compressed air tanks are able to take up the amount of compressed air required to refill a number of tires and should be refilled after each use by connecting to a fixed compressed air line.
Since the tire inflation process with the help of such a compressed air tank is faster the higher the pressure prevailing in the tank, the aim is to connect the tank to the stationary compressed air line whenever possible during every break in operation. In order to ensure that this actually happens, the invention is based on the object of configuring the connection device in a compressed air tank of the type mentioned at the outset so that
that the establishment of the connection between the compressed air line and the compressed air tank does not involve much more effort than simply setting the tank aside.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the connection device is designed as a pressure coupling which can be actuated by simply pressing its two coupling halves together.
Another useful embodiment of the invention is characterized by such an arrangement of the inlet port and the coupling half formed on it or connected to it, that the pressure causing the sealing of the pressure coupling when this coupling half is placed on the other coupling half connected to the compressed air line is generated by the weight of the compressed air tank and the parts connected to it.
What is achieved hereby is that the coupling process takes place completely automatically when the compressed air tank is placed or hung up at a place provided for this purpose during the breaks in operation.
A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the inlet port is designed as a handle that carries one coupling half at a point which is approximately perpendicular above the common center of gravity of the compressed air tank and the parts connected to it.
In order to facilitate pressing, setting down or hanging up, it is also expedient that, according to a further feature of the invention, one of the two coupling halves has a funnel-shaped insertion piece.
In the drawing, an embodiment of a device is shown schematically with a quick coupling to be actuated by its own weight; FIGS. 2 and 3 show, on a larger scale, longitudinal sections through variously designed couplings of such a device.
The device consists essentially of a compressed air tank 1 and a tire inflator with pressure gauge 2 and actuating valves 3. These parts are united in a common housing ver. An inlet nozzle 4 is connected to the compressed air tank, the end of which is expanded like a funnel at 5 and which receives one half of a pressure coupling. The other half of the coupling is formed in a line section 6 of a compressed air network. A seal 7 is connected to one coupling half.
The pressure-tight connection is made by placing the part 4 on the fixedly laid line 6, the weight of the device preferably providing the closing pressure. In the example according to FIG. 1, the device hangs on the line 6. If a downwardly pointing inlet connection 4 is arranged and the line 6 is laid, it can also be attached.
Furthermore, it is also possible to arrange the inlet port laterally and to press the coupling against a corresponding line piece 6, for. B. to close by spring force.
Check valves 8 and 9 are assigned to both the inlet port 4 and the Lei device 6. According to Fig. 2, the check valve 9 in the Lei device 6 is assigned an actuating pin 10 fastened in the coupling part of the inlet port 4, which actuation pin 10 opens automatically when the coupling is closed. In the example according to FIG. 3, the valves 8 and 9 of the inlet connection 4 and of the line 6 mutually open automatically when the coupling is closed.
In this embodiment, a third check valve 11 is also provided, which closes automatically when the pressure in the inlet nozzle 4 is greater than that in the line 6, and prevents compressed air from the container 1 from flowing back into the network when in the latter the pressure should drop temporarily.
In the example according to FIG. 1, the check valve 8 also fulfills this function, because it cannot be influenced by the clutch, but only by the prevailing pressures.
