Container spout
The invention relates to a container spout with a fastening attachment, which is intended to interact with the container wall, and a collar adjoining this and coming to lie outside the container.
There are also known container and jug outlets which have a plate-shaped collar and a constriction delimiting the insertion edge for the purpose of an airtight seal on the lid. The wall of the hole snaps into this groove or constriction and provides a support and a tight seal for the spout. The disadvantage here is that the tool is complicated by this undercut and the seal is not always satisfactory.
These disadvantages are to be eliminated with the invention. This is characterized in that the part of the fastening attachment adjacent to the collar is cylindrical and consists of an elastic plastic.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
1 shows a section through the spout attached to a container wall.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the container spout alone.
3 is a view of the container spout with the closure cap attached.
The container spout consists of a single piece of plastic and is intended to be placed on the lid 1 of a container, in particular a can or jug. The spout has an annular collar 2 to which a pipe part 3 protruding from the container is connected. The actual pouring opening is closed off by a membrane 4, on the edge of which there is an annular groove 12 which serves as a predetermined tear point. A ribbed pull-off flap 5 sits on the membrane 4. A flexible fastening strap 6 protrudes from the collar 2 and is connected at its end to a hollow closure cap 7.
This closure cap 7 is designed so that it can be pushed easily but snugly over the tubular part 3, as shown in FIG. 3, resulting in a closure for the pouring opening. The ring part 8 below the collar 2 - which is intended to penetrate into the cover - has a cylindrical design and merges into a cone 9 towards its free end. The entire spout, including the fastening strap, cap, membrane and pull tab, is designed as a single piece of plastic, for example made of polyethylene, which is largely elastic, so it returns to its original shape after deformation.
The hole diameter to be made in the cover material before the spout is inserted is selected relative to the diameter of the ring part 8 so that the ring must be pressed fully or with pressure into the cover opening. Under the pressure of the metallic, largely rigid lid edge, the creeping property of the plastic results in a sealing groove after some time - as indicated in FIG. 1 - which contributes to good sealing and pressure on the seat surface. The cone 9 is used for easier pressing of the spout into the lid opening.
The pull tab 5 is flexible and its length is shorter than the diameter of the pouring part 3.
This makes it possible to put on the closure cap 7 even if the pull tab has not yet been removed, the pull tab then being bent over by the closure cap 7.
When used for the first time, the membrane 4 is torn off with the aid of the pull-off tray 5, whereby the opening 10 is exposed and the contents of the container can be poured out. There is an arrow on the upper side of the membrane 4
11, which indicates the pull-off direction to tear off the membrane.
