Die verwendeten 1 : 1-Chrom- komplexverbindungen dürfen die verschiedensten nichtionogenen Substituenten, wie Chloratome, Nitro-, Alkyl-;
insbesondere aber nitrogruppenhaltige Verbindun gen, wie 4- oder 5-Chlor-2-amino-l-oxybenzol, 4-Chlor-5- oder -6-nitro-2-amino-l-oxybenzol, 4-Nitro-6-chlor-2-amino-l-oxybenzol, 6-Nitro-4-methyl-2-amino-l-oxybenzol, 4-Nitro-6-acetylamino-2-amino-l-oxybenzol, 6-Nitro-4-acetylamino-2-amino-l-oxybenzal;

Process for the production of chromium-containing azo dyes It has been found that valuable, new chromium-containing azo dyes are obtained which contain, per atom of chromium, one molecule of a sulfonic acid group-containing monoazo dye and one molecule of an optionally further substituted 8-oxyquinoline complex,
if you treat a mixture of the monoazo dye and the optionally further substituted 8-oxyquinoline in a molecular ratio of about 1: 1 with chromium-releasing agents, or if you first treat a complex chromium compound of a sulfonic acid group-containing monoazo dye, in particular an o, o'- Dioxy, o-carboxy-o'-oxy, o-carboxy-o'-amino or o-oxy-o'-aminoazo dye,
which contains one atom of complexly bound chromium per mole of dye and converts this compound with the 8 oxyquinone.
As 8-oxyquinoline you can use both sulfonic acid group-containing and sulfonic acid group-free compounds, for example 6,8-dioxyquinoline, 5-chloro-8-oxyquinoline, 8-oxyquinoline-7-sulfonic acid and, above all, 8-oxyquinoline itself.
The sulfonic acid group-containing monoazo dyes required in the present process in the form of the 1: 1 chromium complexes can be prepared in a manner known per se by coupling o-oxy or o-carboxydiazo compounds, especially those of the benzene or naphthalene series,
with azo components coupling in the o-position to an amino or oxy group.
The 1: 1 chromium complex compounds used may contain a wide variety of non-ionic substituents, such as chlorine atoms, nitro, alkyl;
Alkoxy, alkyl sulfoxide, alkyl sulfone, sulf - amide and acylamino groups. Particularly valuable results are obtained - but with the 1:
-1 Chromium complex compounds of o-oxo-o'-aminoazo dyes containing sulfonic acid groups of the benzolazonaphthalene series, which have an NO2 group in the benzene nucleus, furthermore with 1:
1-chromium complex compounds of monoazo dyes which contain a 4-chloro-2-aminophenol 6-sulfonic acid or a 2- oxy-1-aminonaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid as a diazo component.
To prepare the monoazo dyes, the 1: 1 chromium complex compounds of which are used as starting materials, the diazo compounds of the amines mentioned below, in particular those that have a nitro group; with z.
B. combine fol lowing coupling components that are in the neighboring position of the amino respectively. Oxy group can be coupled: 2-aminonaphthalene, 2-amino-6-alkoxynaphthalene, 2-aminonaphthalene-5-, -6- or -7-sulfamide, 2-aminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid morpholide, 2-aminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid-N- methyl-, -ethyl-, -isopropyl-, -f-oxyäthyl- or -methoxypropylamid,

When combining the two components, the choice must always be made so that the corresponding monoazo dye contains at least one sulfonic acid group.
The in the present process as starting materials used 1: 1 complexes can otherwise prepared by methods known per se who the, for. B. by using the metallizable monoazo dyes free of complex-forming metal in an organic medium (e.g.
B. in a water-miscible agent such as pyridine, formamide, dioxane, etc.) or in an aqueous, acidic agent with an excess of a salt of trivalent chromium, such as chromium acetate, chromium formate, chromium chloride, chromium sulfate or chromium fluoride, at boiling point or preferably at temperatures exceeding 110 '.
The inventive implementation of the 1: 1 chromium complexes with the 8-oxyquinolines is carried out preferably in an organic agent or in an aqueous, weakly acidic, neutral to alkaline agent, in an open or closed vessel, at ordinary or elevated temperature, e.g. B. at temperatures between 50 and 120. In general, it is advisable to implement equivalent amounts of the metal-containing 1: 1 complex and the 8-oxyquinoline with one another.
The chromium-containing monoazo dyes obtained by the present process are new; they are surprisingly stable and they are suitable for dyeing and printing a wide variety of fabrics, but above all for dyeing animal materials such as silk, leather and especially wool, but also for dyeing and printing synthetic fibers made from superpolyamides or super-polyurethanes. You can use NEN for dyeing nitrogen-containing fibers such as wool, e.g. B. from acetic acid to neutral bath, if necessary with the addition of the auxiliaries customary in dyeing, can be used, for.
B. with the addition of - compounds which have at least one basic nitrogen atom to which at least one radical containing a polyglycol ether chain is bound, the molecule at least three

(preferably -CH2 CH2-O groups) and contains at least four carbon atoms not belonging to such a group, e.g.
B. with the addition of a nitrogen compound of the formula
EMI0002.0104
where R is a preferably unbranched aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having at least 12, preferably 16 to 22 carbon atoms, m and n are integers with a value of at most 2 and p, q and r are integers, the sum p + q + (m-1 ) (r -1) is at least 3 and preferably 6 to 20.
Furthermore, nitrogen-containing fibers, in particular wool with the dyes produced according to the present Ver drive, can be dyed in an advantageous manner if one expediently in continuous Licher operation z.
B. on the padder, applies an aqueous preparation to the fibers, which contains a wool dye and an auxiliary that is able to form a system of two liquid phases with miscibility gap with water and optionally additives, the ratio between the water and the water containing additives Aid is within or near the miscibility gap,
the miscibility gap is already present with a relatively low content of auxiliaries and in a large area of the miscibility gap the auxiliaries-rich phase makes up an essential part and that the fiber material provided with the aqueous preparation is then subjected to a heat treatment.
A class of compounds which meet the conditions described above and which are preferably extracted for the present process are hydrophilic, colloidal solutions-forming, in particular surface-active substances, which are capable of coacervation.
As an example of aids that meet the above conditions, since they are capable of coacervation and are therefore particularly suitable for the above-mentioned process, the implementation products of higher molecular weight fatty acids and oxyalkylamines and, if appropriate, ethylene oxide are mentioned.
You can, for example, without using ethylene oxide, produce such products from higher molecular fatty acids, preferably those with about 12 carbon atoms, and oxyalkylamines, such as triethanolamine or preferably diethanolamm, the reaction being carried out in such a way that the molecular ratio between oxyalkylamine and fatty acid is greater than 1 is e.g. B. is about 2: 1.
After the fibers have been impregnated with the two-phase system, heat fixation takes place, which can usually be carried out with steam, in exceptional cases with dry heat.
Subsequent cleaning is essential to remove excess dye, thickening agents and remaining auxiliary agents. This cleaning is usually done by a warm treatment in a bath that contains a surface-active detergent, optionally in the presence of ammonia or acid.
The dyeings and prints available with the new dyes are generally distinguished by their evenness, the purity of their hues, good lightfastness and good rubfastness; As a rule, they hardly change their appearance in artificial light, and some of them show very interesting and valuable nuances.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. The relationship between parts by weight and parts by volume is the same as that between grams and cm3.
Example 1 37.4 parts of the 1: 1 chromium complex of the dye from diazotized 1-oxy-2-amino-5-nitrobenzene and 2-naphthylamine-6-sulfonic acid are added with 50 parts Stir 1N sodium hydroxide solution in 500 parts of water of approx. 50 until a clear solution has formed.
A warm solution of 22.7 parts of 8-oxyquinoline-7-sulfonic acid in 200 parts of water and 50 parts of 1N sodium hydroxide solution, previously clarified by filtration, is then added, and the reaction mixture is heated to 90 to 95 while stirring. The color of the solution changes from greenish blue to pure green.
After the reaction has ended, if necessary after adding a filter aid such as filtercel, charcoal, etc., the mixture is filtered. The color formed is separated off by adding sodium chloride, isolated by filtration and dried at 956 in vacuo. The dye obtained is in water with. purely green, in conc. Sulfuric acid is soluble in red-violet color and, according to the given process, produces pure, bluish green dyeings on wool.
A similar dye is obtained if 14.8 parts of 8-oxyquinoline are used instead of 8-oxyquinoline-7-sulfonic acid for the reaction with the 1: 1 chromium complex dye.
Example 2 32.0 parts of the monoazo dye from diazotized 1-oxy-2-amino-5-nitrobenzene and 2-naphthylamine-6-sulfonic acid, 14.8 parts of 8-oxyquinoline, 18.4 parts of chromium III formate and 16.8 parts of sodium bicarbonate are mixed with 500 parts of formamide to 130 bis- for a few hours. 135 heated until the starting dye is no longer detectable. There is a color change from blue to red and blue-green.
To isolate the complex formed, the reaction mixture is poured into 3000 parts of a 20%, about 60% warm sodium chloride solution. After some stirring, it is filtered off, the filter cake is washed with 20% sodium chloride solution and dried at 95 in vacuo. The properties of the dye obtained in this way correspond to those of the dye mentioned in the subsequent paragraph to Example 1.
The conversion of the metal-free components is also successful when working in an aqueous, weakly acidic to alkaline suspension at elevated temperature and under pressure.
Example 3 By reacting the 1: 1 chromium complexes of the monoazo dyes listed in the following table under column 1 with the colorless complexing agents contained in column II according to the method of Example 1, further dyes with similar properties are obtained obtained that deliver the shade specified in column III on wool.

<tb> 503H Instructions for dyeing woolen knitting yarn In a dye bath which contains 5 parts of ammonium sulfate and 1 part of the dye described in the subsequent paragraph of Example 1 for 3000 parts of water,
is entered with 100 parts of woolen knitting yarn. In the course of half an hour, the bath is heated to the boil and colored at boiling temperature for another hour. It is then rinsed and dried. A uniform, green color is obtained.
Instructions for dyeing woolen fabrics In a dyebath consisting of 3000 parts of water, 5 parts of 40% acetic acid, 10 parts of sodium sulfate, 2 parts of the Äthylenoxydanlagungsproduk- tes, the production of which is described below and 1 part of the dye mentioned in Example 1 is available, is received at a temperature of 50 to 60 with 100 parts of woolen fabric. After the bath has been heated to the boil within half an hour, it is colored for another hour at the boiling point. After rinsing and drying, the result is an even, green color.
Production of the ethylene oxide addition product 100 parts techn. Oleylamine is mixed with 1 part of finely divided sodium and heated to 140, whereupon ethylene oxide is initiated at 135 to 140.
As soon as the ethylene oxide is quickly absorbed, the reaction temperature is lowered to 120 to 125 and the color continues with the introduction of the ethylene oxide until 113 parts of ethylene oxide are absorbed. The reaction product obtainable in this way is practically clearly soluble in water.
