Device for issuing and printing self-adhesive labels
The invention relates to a device for dispensing and pressing on self-adhesive labels which adhere to a carrier tape.
Devices for dispensing self-adhesive labels located on a carrier tape are known in which the tape coming from the supply roll is drawn intermittently over a deflection edge at which the labels detach from the carrier tape due to their stiffness and can thus be easily removed.
The invention is based on the object of creating a device of the type mentioned, with which the self-adhesive labels are issued in a particularly simple manner and in rapid succession, that is, are made available and attached to an object of any shape, for example a can, a Bottle, bag or other packaging can be attached.
On a label dispenser, in which the carrier tape is drawn in steps around a deflecting edge by a pull-off device to detach the labels, this object is achieved according to the invention in that the deflecting edge is arranged near the lower, front narrow side of the device and you have one for rolling on the labels on the objects to be labeled serving elastic pressure roller is upstream, wherein the deflecting edge has such a distance from the pressure roller that a standing label in the dispensing position on the pressure roller is so far that the front label edge can be pressed against the object to be labeled, while the rear edge of the label still on the liner or
slightly adheres to a device part, and the guide of the carrier tape in front of the deflection edge is directed against the pressure roller in the area below the roller axis, and that the take-off path of the carrier tape corresponds exactly to a label height and the self-adhesive labels are lined up directly on the carrier tape.
By operating the pull-off device, the carrier tape is pulled around the deflection edge by one label height, so that the foremost self-adhesive label is largely detached from the carrier tape and lies with the front edge under the pressure roller, while its rear edge is still on the carrier tape or a part of the device or is connected to the next label via a perforation. The label that is brought into the dispensing position is thus secured against falling out.
By means of a movement leading and at the same time pulling the pressure roller with the underlying label against the object to be labeled, the label that is held ready can be pressed on and rolled on at the same time. This easy-to-perform, hammer-blow-like movement enables up to 3000 price labels per hour to be attached to the objects to be labeled with the device according to the invention without great fatigue. The elastic pressure roller ensures that even curved objects can be provided with labels. The arrangement of the pressure roller on a narrow edge of the housing makes it possible that the labels can also be attached in recesses and, for example, hats or shoes can be labeled on their insides.
In the following description, exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 a vertical and
Fig. 2 is a horizontal longitudinal section of the new device,

Fig. 4 is a vertical cross section, which is in front of the trigger device,

1 to 4 show a preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention, in which the deflecting edge 31 is formed by the front edge of a guide plate 30 directed against the elastic pressure roller 32. The guide plate 30 also serves as a counter pressure plate for a printing unit moved by the hand lever 7. When the hand lever 7, held in the expanded position by a spring 6, is pivoted into the hollow handle 1 of the housing, the printing unit is moved against a label resting on the guide plate 30. When the hand lever 7 is pivoted back, the pull-off device for the carrier tape 28 is set in motion by an advance corresponding to the label height and the printing unit is moved back into its initial and inking position.
The device consists essentially of a housing provided with a handle 1, which encloses two frame walls 3, 4 held at a distance by a spacer 2, between which the hand lever 7 held in the spread position by the tension spring 6 is mounted on an axis designed as an eccentric shaft 5. The hand lever 7 each carries a lever plate 8, 9, the fork-shaped ends of which point beyond the pivot point to the left over an axis 13 of the printing unit with underlay coloring 14, which axis 13 is mounted in the wheel arch 10 and in slots 12 of the frame walls 3, 4 is performed and type wheels 11 carries.
A driving pin 15 is attached to the lever plate 8 and engages in a slot-like recess 16 of a flange 17 of the driving sleeve 19, which sits on an axle 20 mounted in the frame walls 3, 4 and carries the rolling coupling 18.
While the inner ring of the rolling coupling 18 sits firmly on the driver sleeve 19, the outer ring carries a sleeve 21 which acts as a gripping roller and to which a counter roller 23 mounted in the hinged bottom 22 is assigned. A backstop 24 engages the teeth of the counter roller 23.
So that the advance of the labels or the withdrawal of the carrier tape can be set very precisely, the hand lever 7 is mounted on the eccentric shaft 5, which is easily adjustable from the outside in the housing. By turning the eccentric shaft 5, the fulcrum of the hand lever 7 is shifted so that the driver 15 engages more or less deeply in the slot 16 of the free clutch and accordingly turns the gripping roller 21 by a smaller or larger angle when the hand lever 7 pivots.
The spool 26 for receiving the supply roll is arranged above the upper housing wall so that the label supply is clearly visible. The coil 26 is held by the frame wall 3, which protrudes upward through the cladding sheet 1, and on the protruding part of which a coil axle 54 is attached.
A guide plate 25 directs the tape 28 coming from the reel 26 to the left under the printing unit 10, 11, 13 over the guide plate 30, from where the carrier tape around the deflection edge 31 and further between the guide plate 30 and the hinged bottom 22 and between the gripping roller 21 and the counter roller 23 is discharged through it.
When the hand lever 7 is swiveled in, the lever plates 8, 9 press the printing unit 10, 11, 13 downwards and at the same time the driver pin 5 located in the lever plate 8 rotates the inner ring of the roller clutch 18 in idle so far that when the hand lever is now released, which is under spring tension 7 not only does the printing unit 10, 11, 13 return to its original position and is colored by the underlay coloring 14, but at the same time the roller clutch 18 also comes into operation and rotates the gripping roller 21 sitting on its outer ring. The carrier tape 28 is pulled one label height over the deflecting edge 31 and the front edge of the label 29 printed in a previous work cycle is brought under the pressure roller 32 with the rear edge still adhering to the carrier tape 28.
The drive of the new device takes place in such a way that the hand lever 7 moves the pressure roller, which is slidably guided in the housing, via the fork arms 8, 9 and moves the overrunning clutch with the driver 15, which frees when the lever is swiveled in and the that when the lever is swiveled back
The carrier tape rotates by a gripping roller 21 that pulls off the label. By briefly pulling the hand lever 7 several times, the first label can be brought into the correct position in relation to the deflection edge 31 and pressure roller 32, so that all subsequent labels, provided the label advance exactly matches the label height, are brought into the correct position for rolling onto objects.
The device has a particularly easy-to-use shape in that, viewed in longitudinal section, the housing part, which accommodates the pull-off device 21, 23, the deflecting edge 31 and the printing unit 10-14, has the shape of a flat rectangle at its front, lower corner the pressure roller 32 is arranged and the handle, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the housing, attaches to its rear, upper corner.
In order to also be able to use a continuous self-adhesive tape that adheres to a carrier tape, a cutting device 33, 34, 35 is arranged between the deflecting edge 31 and the pressure roller 32 in the embodiments shown in FIGS Parts is operated.
After the front, printed end of the label tape has been detached from the carrier tape 28, it is cut off by a knife 33. The knife 33 engages in a slot 34 between the cutting edges 33a, b. The knife 33 is carried by the end of a rocker 35 which is mounted pivotably about the axis 36 and is moved by the lever plates 8, 9 coming down. The entire arrangement is located in a hinged base 22 'which can be exchanged for the hinged base 22 shown in FIG. 1.
As FIG. 6 shows, the distance between the deflecting edge 31 and the interface for the knife 33 is as small as possible. After cutting through the label tape 29, the two parts of the label tape adjacent to the interface stick to the counter-cutting edges 33a and 33b. The sticking of the cut label to the cutting edge 33a adjacent to the pressure roller 32 has the effect that it does not fall out of the device before rolling.
The sticking of the label strip, which has not yet been cut, on the counter-blade 33b is avoided by the inherent rigidity of the label strip, which is advanced when it is pulled. The adhesive effect is reduced there by a strong inclination of the counter-blade 33b because only a very small area of the label strip can adhere as a result of the incline.
According to FIGS. 6 and 7, the carrier tape 28 is provided with perforations 55 into which gripping cams 57 of the gripping roller 21 engage.
FIGS. 8 and 9 show a support frame which is to be fastened to a table top, for example, and which consists of a shell-shaped housing 37 with two support jaws 38 and a counter-jaw 39.
A screw 40 with a pressure plate 41 on the inner end and a wing head 42 on the outer end penetrates the counter-jaw 39.
The housing has a side wall 58 in which - as FIG. 8 shows - a slide 43 can be moved longitudinally and is actuated via a lever 44 with a handle 45. This lever is mounted at 46 in the support frame and is brought into its end position by a return spring 47. It engages with its inner, cylindrical end 48 in a corresponding recess 49 in the slide. With its free edge 50, this influences a bolt 51 (FIGS. 1 and 2) which protrudes laterally from the housing 1, 3 of the device. The device is screwed on via a threaded attachment 52 (FIG. 2) through a knurled nut 53 provided on the support frame, whereby it is held against rotation by the engagement of the coil axis 54 (FIG. 1) in a recess 55 (FIG. 9).
The device lies in the support frame in such a way that the pressure roller 32 points upwards, the handle 1 to the left, but the handle 45 of the lever 44 connected to the support frame to the right. With this arrangement, the hand lever 44, 45 can be actuated with one hand and the object to be labeled can be guided over the pressure roller 32 with the other hand, unhindered by this movement.
