System for reducing the speed of moving rail vehicles Railway technology has created shunting yards for the purpose of train formation. The heart of such a station consists of the drainage system, which in a system that works with gravity is composed of the drainage mountain, the distribution or switch zone and the direction tracks. In order to be able to process good and bad running trolleys in all weather conditions, so that they reach their destination at walking pace at most, the kinetic energy communicated to the trolley must be dosed. To this day, this task is mainly carried out in front of or in the distribution zone with track brakes.
Unfortunately, this technology, as it slows the flow of wagons in the distribution zone, reduces system performance. In addition, no matter how sensitive the braking is, it does not offer any guarantee that the cars will actually arrive at their destination at walking pace due to the various imponderables of the free carriage.
For the purpose of automating such systems, it has therefore already been proposed to install brakes directly behind the distribution zone in the directional tracks, which automatically brake all cars to walking speed, and to install stationary movement devices on it to continue the cars, which are braked to walking speed, to their destination . This saves the dragging and backing work. Corresponding braking and movement devices based on electrodynamics to solve these tasks economically have already been proposed. In order to increase the profitability of shunting systems, however, in addition to automation, an increase in performance must also be considered.
This is the aim of the present invention. The performance of a drainage system is determined by the permissible push-off speed on the mountain and by the breaks in operation resulting from the scrapping of false walkers and repair vehicles, as well as by pressing in the case of non-automated systems. The permissible push-off speed is given by the carriage following time of good and bad runners. In order not to risk damage or wrong-way movement, this must not be less than a certain, speed-dependent minimum value at any point in the distribution zone, which is given by the condition of not catching up and the point switching time.
The risk that a good runner catches up with a bad runner is greater, the lower the driving speed, since the losses in speed of these cars in the distribution zone are then greater and more varied. Experience shows that the permissible push-off speed is proportional to the exit speed of the bad runner from the distribution zone. This means, however, that from a performance point of view it is not practical to brake the wagons in front of or in the distribution zone. The greatest mountain performance can be expected when you first brake in the directional tracks.
Very different braking performances are required, depending on whether it is a heavy good runner or a light bad runner. The brakes are to be dimensioned for the heavy good runner, and there is the risk that the light bad runner is not treated with enough sensitivity and comes to a standstill, for example in the brake. Or it could happen that a slight poor runner who comes up to walking speed at the beginning of the brake is overtaken by a subsequent heavy runner in the brake and pushed inadmissibly.
In order to avoid such incidents even with increased performance, according to the invention a system for reducing the speed of moving rail vehicles with a stationary braking and movement device is characterized in that the braking device is subdivided by inserting sections of the movement device for the purpose of having at least one wheelset one in the system, the vehicle never runs more than the run-out distance, which corresponds to the smallest possible Fahrgeschwin speed when the braking device is switched off, is removed from the following section of the movement device and can be influenced by the braking device.
With such a system, the control for timely switching off of the brake is very simple, since it can be based on the control of the driving speed.
In the drawings, an example of a system according to the invention is shown. Fig. 1 shows the schematic floor plan of a sequence system, each track is symbolized by a line. Fig. 2 shows the floor plan of a system for speed reduction, as it is provided in connection with the distribution zone in each direction track. FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the braking device and FIG. 4 shows the representation of the speed profile of various cars in such a system.
The drainage system shown in Fig. 1 is such for high performance. The drainage hill 1 is equipped with two tracks. The main routes in distribution zone 2 do not contain any brakes. A special feature of this system is a repair track 3, which is connected to the top of the distribution zone via a brake 4. Extreme bad running and damaged wagons are to be removed from this track in order to relieve the remaining parts of the drainage system and to send them as directly as possible for repair.
The system for reducing the speed of the wagons is installed directly behind the distribution zone in the direction tracks 5. In the present example, it consists of a braking section 6, a section 7 of the movement device, a braking section 8, a section 9 of the movement device, a braking section 10 and a section 11 of the movement device for each track. The latter can extend over a more or less large partial length of the entire directional track. Of course, this system for reducing the speed of the car, which is shown in particular in FIG. 2, can also advantageously be used in any conventional drainage system with pre-braking.
The total length of the braking sections 6, 8 and 10 is dimensioned so that the heavy runner can still safely be braked to step speed. The braking sections 8 and 10 are dimensioned so that at any time at least one wheel set of a vehicle running in the system can be influenced by the braking device. For the majority of freight wagons with an axle distance of 5-6 m and a length over buffers of 8-10 m, this requirement must be met with a length of the braking sections 8 and 10 of about 6 m.
The length of sections 7 and 9 of the movement device (press-on sections) are to be dimensioned so that at least one wheel set of a car running in the system is never more than the run-out distance, which corresponds to the lowest driving speed ahead with the braking device switched off, from the following section of the movement device away. The run-out distance is to be understood as the distance that a car pushed off at a certain speed travels until it comes to a standstill. At least one wheel set of a car should come to rest in a section of the movement device when the braking device is switched off before it comes to a standstill, so that it can be transported further by the latter.
With a length of the braking sections 8 and 10 of about 6 m and minde least walking speed, this condition should be met with a section length of the movement device 7 and 9 of 6-8 m. With such a system there is a guarantee that regardless of the location in the braking device where the required exit speed is reached, the transport to the destination takes place. If possible, there should be a braking option at all times until the car leaves the system. The same applies to several coupled wagons.
In practice, such a system will now be divided into two zones, for example. The first zone consists of the braking section 6. This brake should be switched on when a car arrives at a speed which is greater than a specified value of, for example, 3 m / s, and should be switched off again when this travel speed is reached and the foremost wheelset has not yet actuated contact 70. The running-in speed can be measured with sufficient accuracy by the closing time of the contact 60 when the wheel is driven on.
The driving speed in the brake is monitored by a speed measuring device which extends over this and which switches off the braking device 6 if the speed value assigned to the contact 60 is not reached. The speed measuring device can advantageously be based on the impulse generation of a number of contacts 61, 62, 63 ... 6m arranged at regular intervals along one of the running rails and actuated by the wheel.
The second zone; comprises the sections 7 and 9 of the movement device as well as the braking sections 8 and 10. If the wheel sets of a car drive on the contact 70, switch-on pulses are sent to the sections 6, 8 and 10 of the braking device, provided that the driving speed is associated with this contact Value of, for example, 1 m / s exceeds, or switch-on pulses to the sections 7, 9 and 11 of the movement device, provided that the driving speed falls below this value. The speed of entry into this zone is determined with sufficient accuracy by the closing time of the contact 70 when the wheel is driven on.
If the braking device is switched on, the driving speed is monitored by devices extending over the braking sections 8 and 10. As in section 6, these can be based on the impulses generated by the contacts 81, 82, ... 8n or 101, 102 .... 10p. If the driving speed falls below the speed value assigned to the contact 70 when driving through sections 7 to 10, sections 6, 8 and 10 of the braking device receive a switch-off pulse and sections 7, 9 and 11 of the movement device receive a switch-on pulse.
Fig. 4 shows the speed curve of two-axle cars of different weight and driving resistance in the system with constant He excitation of the braking sections 6, 8 and 10.S denotes the course of a slight poor runner. It enters at a moderate speed and, because of its small mass in section 6, is decelerated relatively quickly to the assigned speed value. After the brake is switched off, it continues to run unbraked until the front wheel set actuates contact 70 and is braked to the speed value assigned to contact 70 before the rear wheel set leaves section 6, whereupon it is transported out of the system by the movement device .
A heavy runner enters at high speed and is braked according to curve G. Since the speed value assigned to contact 60 is not yet sufficient until contact 70 is actuated by the front wheel set, braking is not interrupted but continued until the speed value assigned to contact 70 is reached. The curve M shows the speed profile of a middle runner.
In the case of drainage systems with sufficient pre-braking in the distribution zone, the braking section 6 can be omitted, so that in this case the system for reducing speed begins directly with the second zone.
The braking device advantageously consists of an arrangement according to FIG. 3, known per se, with upwardly open running rails 20 of U-shaped cross-section, into which the wheel rims of the wheel sets 21 dip and by means of which, when energized, they move through the conductors 22 of can be flooded with a magnetic flux. The braking he follows by an eddy current and by a mechanical force component resulting from the movable brake rails 23. In this case, switching ampoules 241 can advantageously be used as the pulse generator.
These consist of two contact springs made of ferromagnetic material, melted in an ampoule, which can be actuated by a magnetic flux. If such ampoules are attached to the running rail 20 in the manner shown, they switch when the brake is energized when a wheel drives past, similar to a mechanically operated contact. The advantage over the latter is that there is no need to worry about wear and tear or contamination.
The movement device consists according to Fig. 2 with advantage, as already known, of two voneinan the insulated rails 16, 17, which with the terminals, so powerful electrical Stromquel len 14, 15 are conductively connected that when the rails are moved by a wheel set of a car in which a current of several thousand amperes flows.
The brake section 6 is fed from a feed unit 12, preferably with direct current, while the brake sections 8 and 10 are fed from a feed unit 13 of the same type but independent of 12. This separation is seen in order to avoid collisions as much as possible in the case of dense and unfavorable Wagenfol conditions. The Spei solution of the sections 7, 9 and 11 of the movement device takes place with advantage from secondary transformers 14, 15, etc. connected in parallel with alternating current.
