Description

Fig. 2 eine abgebrochene Seiten-Teilansicht der Fig. 1,

  Apparatus for making infusion bags
Wet-strength, permeable paper is used for the production of infusion bags for tea, coffee or the like. This material has hitherto been provided with a heat-sealable coating, for example a thin layer of lacquer, for the purpose of forming sealing and connecting seams. The infusion bags made from such materials have the shape of a pillow and are closed with at least three edge sealing seams.

In the case of the known infusion bags, it has been found to be a disadvantage that the taste of the prepared beverage and especially of tea is influenced by the coating and the residues of the solvents with which part of the coating is removed from the bag material in order to restore its permeability.

In order to avoid this, the invention is based on an apparatus for producing infusion bags from webs of wet-strength, permeable paper, the connecting seams of the bags being formed by heat sealing, which according to the invention has such a design. that at the point where the webs are fed to the tools for forming and sealing the bags, at least one device for applying threads or strips of heat-sealable, thermoplastic tasteless plastic to the predetermined web areas is arranged in such a way that these threads or Strips in the longitudinal direction of the paper web takes place.

This achieves the advantage that the contents of the bag can practically not come into contact with the connecting material, which is only present in very small quantities. Another advantage of the invention results from the fact that the application of thermoplastic synthetic material does not contain any solvent which can migrate into the liquid when the contents of the bag are brewed.

The device used according to the invention for applying the plastic threads or strips can optionally be designed in such a way that it comprises at least one ejection device for forming and applying these threads or strips to the predetermined web areas or that supply rolls with prefabricated threads or strips made of the material mentioned are provided , which are first removed from these rollers, then plasticized and finally placed and pressed onto the predetermined web areas by means of suitable rollers.

A device according to the invention for the production of infusion bags of the type mentioned will be explained in more detail below with reference to two preferred exemplary embodiments and schematic drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1 shows the representation of a first embodiment in front view,
FIG. 2 is a broken side partial view of FIG. 1;
3 shows a closed infusion bag produced with the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in a perspective view, FIG. 4 shows a further exemplary embodiment in front view, and FIG
FIG. 5 shows a partial plan view of the production of infusion bags with a device according to FIG. 4.

The embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 shows a device in which the infusion bags 1 according to FIG. 3 are made from two material webs 2 and 3 of moisture-resistant, permeable paper and also filled. The webs 2, 3 are pulled off supply rolls 4 and 5 and welded to a tube by means of circulating, heated pairs of rolls 6, 7 in such a way that in the present exemplary embodiment the tube is divided in its longitudinal direction into, for example, four longitudinal channels by spaced apart heat-sealed seams.

In the area of the sealing seams running in the longitudinal direction of the web, thin threads 10 made of thermoplastic, heat-sealable plastic are continuously applied in a molten state before the two webs 2 and 3 are brought together on one web 2 by means of a known Ausstossein device 8, which has several nozzles 9. The plastic threads 10 adhering to the web 2 represent the necessary connecting material which, after the two webs 2 and 3 have been laid on top of one another, seals these webs firmly together in the area of the applied threads 10 by the action of pressure and heat by means of the roller pairs 6, 7. During the formation of the said tube, certain quantities of filling material are filled into the individual tube longitudinal channels at intervals one behind the other from a measuring and feeding device 11.

So that these quantities remain at the intended location within each longitudinal tube channel, separating webs 12 and 13 are provided between the rollers 6, 7, which divide the tube in sections by simply pressing the webs 2, 3 together. The tube provided with filling material is then conveyed further in a horizontal plane by means of movably guided tongs 14 and 15, which can perform scissor-like movements against one another, and divided into individual sections. In the present embodiment, individual tube sections are produced which are each provided with two consecutive quantities of filling material so that after each individual section is folded around its center line by means of a folder 16 bags 1 with two filled bag chambers are created (FIG. 3).

The laterally to several middle of the inner longitudinal sealing seams still hanging bags 1 are finally separated along the middle of these sealing seams and in a suitable manner, for. B. closed by folding and optionally sealing or gluing tools by folding and folding the open ends of the individual tube sections together and, if desired, provided with a label attached to a thread.

Compared to the embodiment described above, in the device according to FIGS. 4 and 5, bags 20 closed all around by heat-sealed seams are produced in the form of pillows. The bag material is drawn off in the form of two material webs 23 and 24 from two supply rolls 21 and 22 in such a way that the web 23 is conveyed to the web 24 in the transverse direction. On both webs 23, 24 thin threads 30 and 31 made of thermoplastic, heat-sealable plastic are in turn applied in the closed state in the longitudinal direction of the web in the area of the later sealing seams.

Individual blanks 27 are then separated from the web 24 by means of suitable pouring tools and deposited on a conveyor belt 37 running transversely to the direction of the web, which feeds the blanks 27 to a metering drum 28 of a known type, which takes certain quantities of product from a storage hopper 29 and places them on the blanks 27. With the blanks 27 prepared in this way, the web 23 is then brought into congruence and in the area of the pieces of the threads 30, 31 located on the webs 23, 24 are welded by means of a pair of hot-sealing rollers 32, 33, the rollers 32 and 33 each by heated transverse webs 34 or.

35 are connected to each other. Knives 36 are attached to the transverse webs 34 of the roll 32 and cut through the web 23 in such a way that individual bags 20 sealed all around are produced.

Of course, within the scope of the invention, it is easily possible to use only a single web of material for the production of bags of the present type in a manner known per se, which after the application of thermoplastic heat-sealed threads is welded to form a tube and further processed to double-chamber bags 1 according to FIG becomes. Furthermore, it is possible within the scope of the invention to first produce empty bags with filling openings from webs provided with hot-seal threads, which bags are then filled and closed in a known manner.

Instead of using ejector devices for the formation and application of the thermoplastic hot-seal threads or strips on the respective webs, supply rolls with prefabricated threads or strips of thermoplastic heat-sealable plastic can of course also be provided without impairing the performance, which plasticized after the supply roll is removed and then on the material webs are pressed on by means of suitable rollers.
