Shaft sealing arrangement on pumps The invention relates to a shaft sealing arrangement on pumps, in particular submersible pumps. In submersible pumps, the shaft seal works under very unfavorable conditions, as the water is usually polluted and mixed with sand or other wear-causing particles, so that the motor and the bearings would be damaged in a short time if water ran through the shaft seals would pass through.
The invention is based on the object of creating an improved shaft seal arrangement, the essence of the invention being that a non-rotating, elastically displaceable sleeve which surrounds the motor shaft carries part of a flat seal and one or more elastic sealing lips, which rest against a conical surface of a table attached to the motor shaft, and that inside this sleeve there is a helical spring which is supported against a shoulder on this shaft and is arranged in such a way that it abuts the other, rotating part of the flat seal presses on the first-mentioned part and transmits a force to the sleeve,
to keep the sealing lips in contact with the conical surface. In this way, the aim is to ensure that the sealing lips are adjusted according to their wear, the further advantage being achieved that this adjustment is made by the same spring that is required for generating the sealing pressure of the flat seal. In the following description, a preferred embodiment of the inventive shaft seal arrangement is explained, which is Darge on the accompanying drawing in an axial section.
The seal arrangement shown is described in application to a submersible pump of the usual type with a bell-shaped, double-walled housing, in the lower central part of which the rotor 11 is located. This rotor is attached to the lower, self-supporting end of a vertical drive shaft 13 which is coupled directly to the electric motor 15. The runner is arranged between the bottom 17 of the inner housing and the bottom 21 of the sengehäuses from. The bottom of the outer housing is provided with an opening 19 so that when the rotor 11 rotates, water is sucked up through the opening 19 and conveyed through the space between the outer and inner walls of the housing and out of this a connected drain line is conveyed further.
The inside of the pump chamber formed by the two floors is provided with a protective cover 23 made of rubber.
A lubricant container 25 is arranged around the shaft 13 and is formed by the bottom 17 of the inner housing, a cylindrical side wall 27 which extends upwards from the bottom 17, and an upper end wall 29. The shaft 13 is mounted in the upper end wall 29 by means of a roller bearing 31 and is sealed with this by an elastic sealing sleeve 33.
The bottom of the inner housing is as a collar 35, coaxially surrounding the shaft 13, pulled upward ge, which was a relatively large Ab from the shaft. In the space between the collar and the shaft, a sealing unit is inserted, which is held by the bottom 17 of the inner housing and / or the collar 35 with a certain axial play, but not rotatable, and contains sealing elements that slide against the shaft . The sealing unit comprises a sleeve 37, which has a cylindrical outer surface and is inserted with a tight fit in the cylindrical bore of the collar 35 and is also sealed with the latter by means of a sealing ring 39.
The sleeve 37 is held by a rubber membrane 41, which has the shape of a flat, circular disc which is inserted into a turned recess in the outer surface of the housing base 17.
On its upper side, the membrane is designed with a first annular flange 43, which is held in contact with the cylindrical wall of the recess and held in its position by a bead 45. as well as with a second annular flange 47 of smaller diameter which surrounds the end of the sleeve 37 and with a bent edge engages in a groove of the latter. Due to the elastic flexibility of the membrane 41, a certain axial play of the sleeve 37 is made possible.
Within the sleeve 37, two elastic sleeve-shaped sealing lips 49, 51 made of rubber, leather or some artificial material are attached, which bear against a conical body 53 attached to the shaft 13 and which are preferably in contact with this body by surrounding helical springs being held. At the upper end of the sleeve 37, a second seal is arranged, which consists of two flat sealing washers 55 and 57 made of hard metal. The upper disk 55 is attached to an end plate 59 which is screwed into the end of the sleeve 37 and is therefore stationary, while the lower sealing disk 57 is attached to a ring 61 mounted on the shaft and participating in its rotation.
The ring 61 is axially displaceable on the shaft and sealed with this by a sealing ring 63 you. The ring 61 takes part in the rotation of the shaft as a result of the friction of the sealing ring 63 and is pushed upwards by a helical spring 65 which is concentric to the shaft and the lower end of which is supported against a shoulder which is attached to one on the shaft attached ring 67 is provided.
Since the spring 65 has the tendency to expand in the axial direction, the ring 61 and thus the sealing washer 57 attached to it is pressed in position to the sealing washer 55 attached to the sleeve 37, so that there is sufficient stock pressure at this sealing point consists. As a result of this pressure, the sleeve 37 is displaced upwards, the membrane 41 yielding elastically so that the sealing lips 49, 51 are pressed on by the action of the spring 65.
To the extent that the sealing lips wear out, they are pushed further and further upwards on the conical body 53, since when the bearing pressure of the sealing lips decreases, the coil spring 65 expands and pushes the sleeve 37 upwards until substantially the same bearing pressure of the sealing lips is restored. However, the membrane 41 counteracts this movement to a certain extent.
On its underside, the blades of the runner 11 are ver related to each other by an annular disk 69, while the top of the runner facing the membrane 41 is open. Therefore, the vacuum generated on the suction side of the pump in operation has access to the movable central part of the membrane and acts on it in the downward direction. This has the consequence that when the spring 65 is compressed, the sleeve 37 is displaced downward so that the bearing pressure between the sealing lips 49, 51 and the conical body 53 is reduced and there is less wear at this point.
The sealing effect is not impaired by this, as the negative pressure around the lower end of the shaft prevents the water from penetrating upwards along the shaft. Conversely, a small amount of oil can be sucked out of the container 25 through the flat seal 55, 57 into the interior of the sleeve 37 and out of it past the sealing lips 51, 49.
When the pump is switched off and the external water pressure rises to a value that corresponds to the immersion depth, the membrane 41 is pressed upwards and the sealing lips 49, 51 are pressed with strong pressure, which can now be tolerated as the shaft 13 is at a standstill and no wear is to be feared. The invention is not limited to the illustrated and described embodiment, but can experience various changes Abän within its scope.
