Method for embossing ribs with a dovetail profile in strips and device for carrying out the method It is known to create wall and roof cladding in such a way that bands made of metal or plastic, which have ribs with a dovetail profile transversely to their longitudinal direction, in be laid horizontally, with fastening tongues with a dovetail-shaped profile attached to the wall or roof substructure, which grip into the ribs of the bands and hold them.
For a quick and exact laying of the bands, it is necessary that both the distances between the ribs and all the dimensions of the ribs themselves have great accuracy.
The deformation of the ribbons, that is to say the embossing of the ribs, was previously carried out on eccentric presses, whereby two operations are required for embossing a rib, with a first punch embossing a W-shaped rib and a second punch leveling the bottom of the rib which creates the dovetail profile. At least in the first embossing cycle, the material is drawn into the die from both sides, and this drawing in of the material is one reason for the dimensional inaccuracy of the spacing between the ribs. However, drawing in the material also results in uneven hardening of the material, which can be the cause of further dimensional inaccuracies.
The dimensional deviations are usually relatively small and are not visible and hardly controllable during manufacture. They only show up on the construction site when the tapes are laid, as they make the laying work more difficult and can thus lead to unpleasant delays. In addition, leaks on the roof can be a further consequence of inaccuracies in the dimensions. Due to the large width of the belts, large and heavy presses are required for production, which are not only expensive to purchase but also take up a lot of workshop space. But it is z. B. impossible to set up such a heavy press on a construction site and to stamp the tapes on the construction site.
This is a further disadvantage because the embossed tapes are bulky and difficult to transport.
The present invention aims to avoid the disadvantages mentioned. It relates to a method for embossing ribs with a dovetail profile in strips, the ribs running at regular intervals transversely to the longitudinal direction of the strip, and a device for performing the method.
The method is characterized in that the position of a rib to be embossed is determined by rolling the tape on a cylinder with several dies arranged at the desired rib spacing, in that an embossed rib is held in its die until after the embossing of the next rib, and that each Rib by one-sided Einichen the tape parallel-walled ge marks and the dovetail profile is achieved as a result of the stretching of the tape when running off the cylinder.
The device for carrying out this process is characterized by a step-by-step rotating cylinder with several matrices evenly distributed on the circumference and embedded in the Zyader, as well as two adjacent punches that can be moved radially to the cylinder and are in operative connection with the cylinder that after a Turning step of the cylinder, first the pre-punch, then the post-punch is lowered into the die and after lifting both punches, the cylinder rotates one step again.
The method according to the invention makes it possible to provide embossed ribs with a dovetail-shaped profile for cladding and roofing certain strips with the accuracy required for laying. At the same time, it allows the device to be implemented in terms of volume and weight in such dimensions that it can be built as a portable machine tool, so that it can be set up on the construction site and the bands can be made in the immediate vicinity of the installation site .
The method of the invention and an exemplary embodiment of the device Ausfüh are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. In the drawing: Fig. 1 shows a side view of a die with a laid tape and lowered pre-punch, Fig. 2 shows the same die when both punches are lowered, Fig. 3 the formation of the dovetail profile by stretching the band, FIG. 4 a side view of a roller with band and punches, FIG. 5 a device according to FIG. 4, built as a machine tool,
FIG. 6 shows a side elevation of FIG. 5 and FIG. 7 shows a transportable machine tool.
A plurality of matrices 12 distributed at regular intervals on the circumference are embedded in a cylinder 11, of which only one is shown in FIGS. 1-3. The die 12 has sharp-edged U-profiles and extends over the entire length of the cylinder 11. The end surfaces 13, 14 of the legs run flush with the cylinder surface. A groove 15 is cut out in the middle of the sole surface, so that a right sole surface 16 and a left sole surface 17 are formed. The vertical surfaces 18, 19 advantageously have a slight suit.
The stamp is in two parts and consists of a pre-stamp 20 and a post-stamp 21 and both stamps extend over the entire length of the cylinder 11. The pre-stamp 20 has the die surfaces 13, 18, 16 opposite pressing surfaces and the post punch 21 has the die surfaces 14, 19,
17 opposite pressing surfaces. The pre-punch 20 has a rounded bead 22 on the width of the groove 15 for forming a bead 24 in the band to be embossed 23. The parting plane 25 the two punches 20, 21 runs over the bending edge between the beaded bead 22 and the bottom surface 17.
For embossing a rib with a dovetail-shaped profile, which is used to fasten the band, the band 23 is stretched from the right side over the cylinder 11 and the die 12, with the tape held on the right side. Thereupon, first the pre-punch 20 and then the post-punch 21 are pressed into the die. When the pre-punch 20 is pressed in, the band experiences a pressure along the surfaces 13, 18, 16 and the bending edges lying between them, which makes the band harder and stiffer at these points.
The band 23 is bent away from the surface 16 over the bead 22, but without experiencing any compression, which is why the flexibility of the band material in the bead 24 is retained. The tape 23 runs freely from the die away from the separating surface 25 . If the post-punch 21 is then pressed into the die, the tape is drawn further into the die from the left-hand side and pressed along the sides 17, 19, 14 and over the edges lying between them, as a result of which the material in the left half of the bead is also hardened and stiffened. The band 23 also hugs the left side of the cylinder curve. This state is shown in FIG.
When this state is reached, the two rams 20 and 21 can be raised again. The dovetail profile of the rib is achieved when the band 23 is lifted off the cylinder 11 and stretched in the area of the cylinder curvature. This process is illustrated in FIG. 3. As a result of the compression suffered, the shape of the pressed surfaces and the edges in between is retained, but the spike 24 is raised more so that the outer bending edges approach each other and the dovetail profile shown is created.
The device shown in FIG. 4 contains a cylinder 11 which can be rotated about an axis 26 and which has four matrices 12 evenly spaced around the circumference, as in FIG B> 1 shown. The two punches 20, 21 are arranged opposite the upper die, and the tape 23 is fed into the device from the left. If a rib is now formed by pressing in the two punches 20, 21, as described for FIGS. 1 and 2, then after the punch is raised, the cylinder 11 becomes the cylinder turned a quarter turn.
The pressed remains. Rib lie on the right side of the cylinder in its die, and the band 23 is drawn from the left to emboss the next rib. The dimensional accuracy of the distance between two ribs is due on the one hand to the constant, regular spacing of the dies on the cylinder circumference and on the other hand to the fact that the tape is held on the right side of the die and the tape runs in on the left given to the die. If the cylinder continues to rotate a quarter turn, the rib on the underside of the cylinder moves out of the die, as for F.ig. 3 .
The device according to FIG. 4 can expediently be supplemented to form a machine tool, as indicated in FIGS. 5 and 6. The cylinder 11 is between two vertical walls 30, 31 of a frame-shaped housing with a base 32 and a top wall 33 </ B > stored. The cylinder 11 can be driven by a motor 34 via a belt drive 35 , with a transmission (not shown) for converting the continuous rotation into a between the belt drive and the cylinder gradual rotation is to be provided.
The two punches 20, 21 and a hydraulic device 3 6 for raising and lowering the punches are arranged above the cylinder 11 . The tape 23 is unwound from a supply roll 37 and, after the embossing of the ribs, is wound onto a finished roll 38 . In order to be able to emboss different rib profiles as required with this embossing machine, the dies and punches can be exchanged.
The addition of a device according to the invention, as shown for example in FIG. 4, to a complete machine tool according to FIGS. 5 and 6 is not the subject of the invention, since such an addition every mechanical engineer is possible. But it is a technical advance of the invention that it enables a machine tool whose volume and weight are much smaller than in a previously required eccentric press for the same bandwidth. A machine tool, as indicated in FIGS. 5 and 6, for embossing strips one meter wide has a width of 1.2 meters and a weight of two Metric tons.
It is therefore suitable to be mounted on a trolley, as shown in Fig.7. This makes it possible to drive the machine to the construction site and to stamp the tapes near the installation site and to lift the finished roll from the car onto the roof substructure with a crane. This considerably simplifies the roofing.
