Sieht man z.
Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt durch diesen Haltestreifen,
Retaining strips for inserting a tooth filling when sealing the teeth
The invention relates to a retaining strip for introducing a tooth filling, in particular for anterior teeth.
It is known that when filling the teeth, in particular front teeth, with plastic silicate cement matrix strips are used, which consist of either a transparent plastic film or an aluminum film. These strips are inserted between the teeth and after the filling has been stuffed, pressed with the fingers against the tooth to be filled in such a way that the filling underneath the strip adapts to the tooth.
The disadvantage of this generally customary way of working is that the matrix strip has to be held by the operator while the filling material is hardening. Furthermore, it is unfortunate that the obstruction of the working area by the fingers holding the strip makes it difficult or even impossible to remodel the still plastic filling under the strip; so there are often annoying excess filling.
It is also already known to remove these overhangs by screwing the die strips using a special device. or to hold clamp effect. However, these auxiliary devices cannot be satisfactory either, because they do not bring the tensioned matrix into contact with enough firmness and also with insufficient precision on the tooth.
Certain tooth and jaw shapes do not allow their use at all. It is also very often not possible to remodel with the filling instrument, because during this work the matrix becomes detached from its position due to the conical shape of the teeth.
None of these previously known matrix strips for front teeth, whether they are held with the fingers or with a mechanical holding device, a clamp and the like, are in no way so close to the tooth to be treated and provided with the desired retraction pressure that the work to be achieved is successful is satisfactorily guaranteed.
The invention has set itself the task of creating a strip serving as a holding die, in which all the deficiencies indicated have been eliminated, in that the holding strip holds the tooth independently and without additional devices securely and firmly.
It is taken into account that the holding strip, even if it is applied, can still be corrected in any way. The die enables more precise, more convenient and time-saving work.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the said retaining strip is designed to be adhesive to a certain extent at both ends on the side that comes into contact with the teeth when it is applied. On this side of the strip, a gap remains free from the adhesive coating in the middle, which is then intended to lie against the edge of the cavity as the actual die. As a result, the strip can be quickly put on and adjusted, with a reliable holding effect being ensured by sticking it on.
If you see z. B. before, the glued end pieces made of tensile material, z. B. to manufacture from elastic band, the desired pressure effect is created at the same time when the holding strip is slightly put on train is glued to the teeth. The elastic material can optionally also be provided glued to the strip.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the end pieces of the holding strip that have been made adhesive are identified by a different color or the like in relation to the adhesive-free middle part, so that this middle part always comes to rest reliably at the filling point.
The adhesive end pieces are advantageously protected by a film that can be peeled off before use. The adhesive effect is retained even if the strip is stored for a longer period of time.
On the other hand, the peelable film results in a more convenient and easier handling when applying the auxiliary strip.
The invention with its details is explained and described in more detail below, for example with reference to drawings. Show it:
1 shows the retaining strip in a view of the side that comes to lie on the outside when it is put on,
2 shows a longitudinal section through this holding strip,
3 shows a schematic, perspective representation of the application of this strip applied to the front teeth.
The retaining strip 1 consists, for. B. made of celluloid or aluminum. Its two end parts are provided with a rubber coating on the side of the strip that comes to rest against the teeth, e.g. B. rubber adhesive. The middle part 5 of the strip 1, which comes into contact with the tooth filling when the strip is applied, remains free from the glue.
The rubber coating 4 of the end parts 2 and 3 is each covered by a peelable film 6 for protection against the effects of air and for better handling in the manner of conventional bandages.
This film has in the middle part of the strip 1 exposed cover flaps 7, with which the film can be easily grasped with the fingers to remove it before it is applied.
It is also possible to provide the end parts 2 and 3, which are held on the teeth by adhesive action, of elastic material, so that the retaining strip can be attached to the teeth with a certain amount of tension, which results in a good elastic pressing of the central part against the tooth filling results.
From Fig. 3 it can be seen how the retaining strip described is applied to the front teeth. The tooth 8 to be filled is covered with a central part 5 at the filling point 9. The adhesive part 3 is glued to the front surface of the teeth 8 and 10 (labial) and the part 2 to the rear surface (palatal) of these teeth.
