Description

Roadside guardrail The present invention relates to a roadside guardrail, which consists of steel sheets of multiple curved cross-sectional shape that are detachably connected to delimitation posts and which serve to laterally delimit the roadway of motorways.

In known crash barriers of this type, the sheet metal joints are usually easily overlapped, with one of the two longitudinal sheets to be connected to each other, the other protrudes by the extent of its sheet thickness, so that projections arise at the joints of the sliding surface of the crash barrier are a significant source of danger when a motor vehicle hits the plank. There are often changes in the shape of the sheet metal and, as a result of the impact effects triggered, severe damage to the impacting vehicle.

The aim of the invention is to achieve a smooth sliding track which has no protruding points in the area of its effective surface.

The roadside guardrail according to the invention is characterized in that the abutting surfaces of the steel sheets formed by overlapping are formed at one longitudinal end over their entire width and opposite to the middle of the road by the measure of their sheet thickness so that the surface of the guard rail facing the road is flush gone.

The connecting screws are expediently sunk in a trough-like recess at the joints between the metal sheets, so that the screw heads facing the roadway do not protrude beyond the sliding path.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject invention is described below with reference to the drawing.

1 shows a longitudinal view of the area of a sheet metal joint. FIG. 2 shows a cross section along the line A-B in FIG.

3 shows a cross section through a guardrail with a different profile.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show, on an enlarged scale, the cranking of the metal sheets, and FIG. 6 shows, on a large scale, the overlap at the joints.

The crash barrier track la is composed of a large number of mainly corrugated steel sheets 1, which are cranked ver at one longitudinal end over their entire width to the extent of their sheet thickness and connected to each other in the area of their overlapping abutting surfaces by round head screws 2. The individual steel sheets are fastened to delineator posts or 1-iron anchored along the edge of the road by means of a screw 4 each. For this purpose, a support bracket 3a is welded on one side of the flange facing the roadway of the delineator post 3 and flush with its flat outer surface.

The same has a parallel to the road surface extending longitudinal slot 3b for inserting the screws 4 through. The longitudinal slot 3b can also be made directly in the flange of the guide post 3 facing the roadway. The screws 4 are inserted into the track 1a in the wave trough of the profile. With appropriately loosened screws ben 2, individual sheets can be shifted a little along the length of the slot 3b in order to easily insert or remove the screws 4.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 5, the screws 2 sit sunk in a trough-like recess 1c in the sliding surface so that the outwardly curved screw head does not protrude beyond the latter. The transverse webs 5 are deformed to match the upper and lower edge strips of the sliding surface and are fastened together with the guardrails by means of the screws 2. The edge 5a of the transverse webs 5, which is bent at an angle to the alignment of the slideway, rests loosely on the flange of the guide post 3a, where the stiffening and the moment of resistance of the slideway are increased.
