Spool, especially for the textile industry
The present invention relates to a spool, in particular for the textile industry, making it possible to reduce to a minimum the deformation of the spools or beams during their loading with yarn.
The coils or beams are of very varied types and in all raw materials according to the uses.
The wires wound mechanically on the spools have a tension. The sum of these tensions creates very significant radial forces on the cylindrical barrel and horizontal reactions on the flanges which cause an elongation of the barrel under these stresses and a deformation of the flanges.
It results
1) That we are limited in the wire loading of the reels, this for two reasons:
The horizontal forces due to the pressure exerted by the son on the flanges tend to move them outwardly. This spacing must not reach a sufficient magnitude to allow a thread belonging to a sheet to slip between the threads of the immediately underlying sheet, taking advantage of the loosening of the latter due to the increase in the space between the two flanges. When weaving or knitting, this thread which is no longer in the correct position will break.
On the other hand, deformations exceeding the allowable mechanical stress could cause coil explosions with the consequences of serious bodily accidents.
2) That the mechanical warping, weaving and knitting operations are hampered by these deformations, in particular they cause a decrease in the productivity of the knitting machines.
On the other hand, the overall dimensions of the coils are standardized and there is no possibility of easily changing the overall dimensions, for example the thickness of the flanges.
The coil object of the invention is characterized in that the flanges are made in two parts using materials of different modulus of elasticity.
The purpose of this is to reinforce said flanges and to prevent their deformation under the action of the forces exerted by the wires wound on the spool.
In a particular embodiment of the coil, the two parts of each flange are cons-tituées by a central part or hub of hard material such as steel and a crown of light alloy.
In another embodiment, a clearance is provided between the contact surfaces of the hubs and the crowns so as to allow the latter a certain clearance during winding.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the coil:
Figs. 1 and 2 show, in section, one end of said embodiment of the coil, with the repetition of the forces exerted and the play formed between the hub and a ring gear.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of a hub.
The reinforced flange of the coil shown in Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a steel hub 1 which is screwed into a connecting tube 3, this hub 1 receives the horizontal pressures due to the reactions of winding the wire on the spool.
The shape of the hub 1 and its calculation are carried out to obtain minimal deformations, the same size, a minimum weight.
The known coils were made in three elements: two forged flanges, machined from a light alloy, mounted by welding or assembled by screws, on a light alloy tube.
In the coil described, the flanges consist of two elements: a ring 2 made of light alloy which remains in contact with the wire, and the steel hub 1 which receives the horizontal reactions P of the wire.
This hub, in order to have the maximum resistance, is a theoretical steel console, the part P of which, on the outside diameter, is substantially at the center of the pressures exerted on the part 2 which transmits all the loads to it.
On the other hand, in manufacturing, the curve a-b-c of the steel hub 1 is not in contact with the curve a-b'-c of the crown 2 made of light alloy. A slight play is sufficient to allow a withdrawal of the end R of the flange 2. On loading, this withdrawal will be gradually canceled and, for the service of the coil, the position variations of R, limited to a minimum, will be favorable. .
This steel hub therefore limits the bending of the flanges on the one hand, from d to dl, and the rotation of the section at a and d2 which gives a large variation to R (see fig. 1 and 3).
Each crown 2 comprises, in its central part, a part 5 forming a sleeve which cooperates with a cylindrical bearing surface 6 of the hubs 1.
The flanges are assembled on the spool by screwing the threaded parts 4 of the hubs 1 on the tube 3, the rings 2 being held between the hubs and the tube by means of parts 5 and 6.
The steel reinforcement of the flanges allows the significant cutting loading of synthetic threads in normal service knitting or weaving.
It allows, given its strength, to increase and even double the warping speeds, resulting in very significant costly installation savings.
