Detachable pipe connection for plastic pipes The invention relates to a detachable pipe connection for a plastic pipe.
Both plastic pipes and metal pipes, it is known to expand the pipe end to be connected conically and to clamp it between a conical outer surface of an axially drilled inner piece and a hollow-conical inner surface of a nipple with the aid of a union nut. In practice, however, it has been shown that the ends of plastic pipes grasped in the manner mentioned can slide out relatively easily from the means used for pipe screwing, even if the conical pressing surfaces of the inner piece and the nipple are roughened or with grooves or
Ribs are provided. If the expanded pipe ends are clamped more tightly by tightening the union nut, on the other hand, damage occurs in the case of plastic pipes which impair the quality of the pipe connection and can even lead to leaks.
To eliminate the described inconveniences, it is proposed according to the invention to provide the axially pierced inner piece with an outer surface in the form of a spherical zone and the associated nipple with an inner surface in the form of a corresponding hollow spherical zone, between which surfaces the spherically expanded end of the plastic tube is clamped is by means of a clamping sleeve loosely inserted into the nipple, which is pushed over the plastic pipe in question and has a spherical zone-shaped end part, the outer surface of which rests against the hollow spherical zone-shaped inner surface of the nipple.
Although it has already been proposed to push over the ends of plastic pipes to be connected to each other, clamping or reinforcing sleeves, but these never had a spherically flared end portion and were not in connec tion with an inner piece and a nipple of the described, inventive training be uses.
Two exemplary embodiments of the pipe screw connection according to the invention for a plastic pipe are shown in the drawing.
1 shows the first exemplary embodiment with two plastic pipes to be connected to one another in an axial section with the individual parts separated from one another; Fig. 2 shows the same in use; Fig. 3 shows, also in the state of use and in axial section, a second embodiment of the pipe screw connection, which allows the connection of an individual plastic pipe with a pipe section or the like made of another material.
In Fig. 1 and 2, 10a and 10b denote two plastic pipes that should be connected to each other. Each of the tubes has a spherically widened end 11a or 11b, which is intended to be pushed over a common inner piece 12. The inner piece 12 has an axial bore 13, the diameter of which corresponds to the inner diameter of the tubes 10a and 10b. Furthermore, the inner piece 12 is provided with two outer surfaces 12a and 12b, each of which has the shape of a spherical zone corresponding to the inner surface of the widening 11 a or 11 b of the plastic pipes.
In a plane of symmetry of the inner piece 12, there is a circumferential bead 14 on this, against which the front ends of the expanded pipe ends 11a and 11b can rest, as FIG. 2 illustrates.
A clamping sleeve 15a or 15b and a nipple 16a or 16b are pushed onto each of the plastic pipes 10a and 10b. The clamping sleeves 15a and 15b are designed the same and each have a cylindrical part 17a or 17b and a spherically widened end part 18a or 18b, the outer surface of which matches an inner surface 19a or 19b of the associated nipple 16a or 16b in the form of a hollow spherical zone can be brought when the relevant clamping sleeve is inserted into the nipple, as Fig. 2 shows.
The clamping sleeves 15a and 15b are shorter than the associated nipples 16a and 16b. A union nut 20 is pushed over the one nipple 16b, the internal thread 21 of which can be screwed to a corresponding external thread 22 of the other nipple 16a.
To releasably connect the two plastic pipes 10a and 10b, the following procedure is followed: First, the pipe ends to be connected are converted into a plastically deformable state by heating and expanded spherically with the aid of a tool, not shown. Instead of the tool used for the deformation, the inner piece 12 is now inserted between the widened end parts 11a and 11b of the pipes by pushing both pipe ends 11 a and 11 b over the spherical zone-shaped surfaces 12a and 12b of the inner piece 12 are pushed.
The two clamping sleeves 15a and 15b are then pushed over the expanded pipe ends 11a and 11b and then the two nipples 16a and 16b over the sleeves 15a and 15b. Finally, the union nut 20 is screwed to the external thread 22 of the nipple 16a. In order to enable a sufficiently tight tightening of the union nut 20, this and an extension 23 of the nipple 16a z. B. provided with hexagonal surfaces for attaching screw wrenches seln.
When tightening the union nut 20, the spherically expanded end 11a or 11b of each plastic tube is by means of the correspondingly expanded end part 18a or 18b of the associated clamping sleeve 15a or 15b between the surfaces 12a and 19a or 12b and 19b of the inner piece 12 and the nip pels 16a or 16b clamped. The spherical zone-shaped design of the surfaces pressed against one another ensures an extraordinarily good connection and effectively counteracts the tubes 10a and 10b from sliding out. The outer surfaces 12a and 12b of the inner piece 12 can also advantageously be provided with grooves running in the circumferential direction.
The clamping sleeves 15a and 15b contribute significantly to a good connection by strengthening the plastic pipes and protecting them from damage that could possibly occur when the nipples 16a and 16b are rotated with respect to the plastic pipes.
In an advantageous embodiment variant, not shown, the clamping sleeves are slotted in their longitudinal direction, so that they are pressed against the plastic pipes in a flexible manner, even in the radial direction, when the union nut is tightened.
In another embodiment, also not shown, the clamping sleeves are each provided at their widened front end with an inwardly projecting peripheral edge which engages over the front end of the widened end part of the relevant plastic pipe.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially only in that it is only provided for connecting a single plastic pipe 10b. The inner piece 32 engaging in the spherically widened end 11 b of the pipe is now part of a pierced counterpart 33, which also has an outer thread 34 for screwing on the union nut 20. In addition, this pipe screw connection has a single clamping sleeve 15b and a single nipple 16b, which are of the same design as the correspondingly designated parts of the case of FIG. 1 and 2.
The clamping of the plastic tube 10b takes place in a completely analogous manner as in the first example described. The counterpart 33 can, for. B. be part of a tap, an apparatus, a machine or any pipe or fitting.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, too, the clamping sleeve 15b could be slotted in its longitudinal direction and / or have an inwardly projecting peripheral edge at its widened front end.
