Clamp for the detachable attachment of a cable to a conductor In electrical distribution networks, it is mandatory to earth conductors as soon as the relevant network part is switched off in order to carry out work on it. The aim is to prevent people from being endangered if the electricity is switched on unexpectedly.
On the other hand, there is also the need, namely at construction sites, to draw electricity from an overhead line passing nearby, but in view of the temporary nature of the electricity requirement, a permanent, very often expensive installation is out of the question.
In both cases, there is the problem of connecting a conductor to a cable provided for one or the other purpose, which is expediently done by so-called current pick-up or earth terminals.
The invention relates to such a clamp for the temporary, releasable fastening of a cable, preferably an earth cable, to a conductor.
Clamps are already known per se for the purposes mentioned, but many of them have the disadvantage of cumbersome handling and, moreover, are not always reliable and operationally safe.
The present improvement is characterized by a cross-sectionally U-shaped part, the legs of which each have a slot open in opposite directions, and a slidable between the legs, intended to rest against the current conductor, under spring pressure ste existing pressure piece.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view; Fig. 2 shows a side view; Fig. 3 corresponds to the view in Fig. 1 with a partial white section and a conductor fixed in the clamp.
The clamp consists essentially of two legs 1 and 2, which are connected by a base 3 to form a U-shaped whole. A fastening bolt 4 drilled through lengthways is fastened to the bottom 3. A pressure piece 5 is slidably disposed between the two legs and connected to a pressure rod 6 by a Ge thread. This push rod penetrates the bottom 3 and is movable ge leads in the upper part of the bore of the bolt 4. A fuse, not shown in the drawing, prevents the push rod from falling out of the bore.
The length of the push rod is dimensioned such that the pressure piece extends close to the free end of the legs. The end of the push rod opposite the pressure piece interacts with a spring 7 which is arranged in the lower part of the bore of the fastening bolt. The spring rests on a pin 9 protruding on both sides over the bolt 3, which at the same time has a certain role for loading the clamp on a holder.
The leg 1 is ver see with a longitudinal side of the leg opening slot 8, which extends slightly over half the leg width. At the same level on the leg 2 there is an analog slot 8 ', the opening of which, however, points in the other direction rotated by 180. A clamp 10, which is fastened with two screws, is provided for fastening a cable 12 to the clamp.
The functioning of the clamp is such that the fastening bolt 4 of the clamp is fastened to one end of an insulating rod (not shown in the drawing). The length of this insulating rod depends on the distance, respectively. Height at which the clamp is to be attached to the conductor 11. The clamp attached to the insulating rod is now led against the conductor in such a way that it comes to rest between the two legs. The clamp is then pressed against the conductor until it is in the area of the slots. Then the.
The clamp is turned 90 so that the conductor comes to rest in the slots. The pressure piece, which is under spring pressure, clamps the conductor in this position. Then the connection between the insulating rod and the clamp is solved, whereupon the cable attached to the clamp can perform its intended task, be it for grounding or power consumption for any purpose.
The detachment of the terminal from the conductor he follows in a similar way to the assembly by the terminal is released with the help of the insulating rod by means of a partial rotation in the opposite direction of rotation and together with the attached cable 12 is removed ent. In order to obtain a particularly reliable and torsion-proof connection between the conductor and the terminal, it may be useful to expand the end of the slots so that the conductor lies in a recessed trough and is clamped by the pressure piece therein.
