Device for the manufacture of a series of pipes on a manifold The present invention relates to a device for the manufacture of a series of pipes on a manifold using a punch actuated by a jack arranged inside of the collector and of a matrix applied against the outside, the die punch assembly being linked to a cradle which can be moved along the collector and adapted to support it,
and further comprising a locking member forming a guide rod integral with the die and able to engage through a tube already formed in a sleeve mounted inside the collector and integral with the punch, so as to prevent any tilting of the latter during the operation of manufacturing the tubing.
In practice, it turns out that the tubes already manufactured by the combined action of the punch and the die sometimes present, in the state in which they are immediately after the operation, openings in their orifice, or even a capsule. metal that has not been completely perforated. These burrs or this capsule may oppose the introduction of the guide rod into the tubing. Now, the tubes having to be produced in series and quickly, it is a notable waste of time to move the manifold to machine the tube which has just been made, before moving on to the manufacture of the next tube.
On the other hand, it is absolutely necessary to prevent metal burrs from falling inside the drive neck during the manufacture of the tubes, because they oppose the movements and sliding of the punch-holder cylinder, the stroke of which must be very easy. .
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and the device which is the subject thereof is characterized in that it comprises a jerky percussion hammer terminated by a jack punch and capable of engaging in a tubing. already formed and not sufficiently open to open the latter and allow the passage of said guiding rod, and an auxiliary die to guide the punch-pricker in its movement and covering the tubing through which said punch-pricker.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a partially cutaway elevational view of the device.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view on a larger scale, of part of FIG. 1.
The device shown is intended for the manufacture of a series of pipes on a manifold e, inside which is placed a punch g on a jack f, carried by rods dl. Externally, a matrix l is carried by a transverse cradle k,
which can be moved by jacks in the vertical direction on j uprights at the same time as a base plate m which carries flying buttresses n1 and n2 serving to fix in place the manifold e during the manufacture of a pipe by means of the punch g which passes through the metal and pushes it back into the die 1.
The device further comprises a mechanism preventing the tilting of the jack f inside the collector. This mechanism is constituted by a guide rod p integral with the die, shown lifted and which can penetrate through a pipe s already formed to engage in a sleeve q placed inside the collector between the rods dl por tant the cylinder f. This sleeve being integral with the punch. In the tube s which has just been made, and in which the guide rod p should subsequently pass, remains as seen on a larger scale in FIG. 2 a capsule s2 which opposes this passage.
The device finally comprises a mechanism shown in detail in FIG. 2. This mechanism is mounted on the cradle k carrying the die 1, and comprises a jackhammer w, of a known type, and which, as is knows, causes the jerky back and forth movement of a tool under the action of compressed air.
On the end of this jackhammer w (fig. 2) is placed a sleeve v inside which can smooth a jackhammer u, of which a collar ur limits the back and forth. comes inside a recess of the man chon v.
In order to guide the punch-pricker u, the pipe s is capped with an auxiliary die t, provided with a sleeve tl, having a recess corresponding to the dimensions of the punch-pricker u. Externally, the sleeve t1 of the auxiliary die serves to guide and center the sleeve v, fixed at the end of the jackhammer w.
To uncap the tubing s, simply push down the jackhammer w. The punch-puncher u then descends gradually inside the auxiliary die t, pushing the metal of the capsule s2, or the burrs which may remain, inside the die t, without any die falling. metal breakage inside the collector. The initial position of the striker is shown in solid lines.
At the end of the operation, the jackhammer w comes to rest on the plate m and the jackhammer u is in the lower position shown in phantom in fig. 2, having provided inside the tubing s the passage which will allow, during the manufacture of the subsequent tubing, the passage of the guide rod p.
