Description
Device with electrical sliding contacts The present invention relates to a device with electrical sliding contacts making it possible to transmit a high intensity current between a fixed part and a moving part.
The passage of current from a fixed part to a moving part creates a voltage drop that must be reduced to a minimum, especially when it comes to high currents. Braids are often used, but oxidation and warping from movement can break the strands; the electrodynamic forces due to short-circuit currents, for example, lead to the same result.
The device which is the object of the invention overcomes this drawback; it is characterized in that it comprises at least one elastic corrugated blade which is arranged between the fixed part and the moving part, the friction of the corrugations of the blade on the facing faces of the fixed part and of the moving part, assu rant the passage of current from one room to another.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view thereof.
Fig. 2 is an elevation view thereof.
In fig. 1 are shown a current supply shaft 1 and a movable part 2 to which is fixed for example a disconnector knife which transmits the current. Between these two parts 1 and 2 is formed a chamber in which is placed a corrugated elastic strip 3 of phosphor bronze, bearings being arranged at each end of the movable part.
The length and the corrugations of the blade 3 are such that the latter exerts a certain pressure on the shaft 1 and on the part 2 so as to ensure good contact.
Depending on the intensity, the number of contacts can be multiplied by placing several blades 3 next to each other, as indicated in fig. 2; the blades 3 are separated by washers 5. We can also do without these washers because the blades cannot overlap.
Protection against dust is provided by a seal 4, arranged at each end of the moving part.
The current passes from part 1 to part 2, dividing into as many times as there are contact surfaces per part for all the blades. The section of an elastic blade is crossed by only a fraction of the total current, this makes it possible to have a thin and flexible blade which can be deformed to ensure good contact.
