Additional patent to main patent no. 321138 Device for guiding films in cinematographic projection apparatusec # By main patent no.
321138 a device is protected, which is characterized in that slide runners of the picture stage and associated pressure runners, which are located on both sides of the picture window, are provided with sliding surfaces, which are arranged and shaped in such a way that the film receives a transverse curvature, which approximately corresponds to the curvature of the field of view of the projection lens,
The film is exposed on the front and back with its image part in the film guide channel and in the image window.
The present invention relates to a further embodiment of this device, which is characterized in that the skids and the associated pressure skids are at least offset from one another on one side of the film guide channel in the transverse direction thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown, and they show: FIG. 1 a first embodiment, FIG. 2 a variant of the embodiment according to FIG. FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment, FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of the film guide channel.
1 shows an embodiment in which the film has the desired transverse curvature corresponding to the Büdfeld curvature of the projection lens in that the pressure runners are offset in the transverse direction of the film with respect to the slide runners of the picture window. The arrow:
1 shows the direction of light coming from the light source, 2, the housing of the projector. The image stage 3 arranged on the projector is provided with skids 5. In the transverse direction of the film guide channel located between the runners, offset from the runners 5, pressure runners 6 are arranged, specifically in such a way that the latter lie between the runners 5.
The pressure skids. 6 can be adjusted by means of adjusting screws 7 in the axial direction of the objective 9, so that the film 4 receives a transverse curvature which approximately corresponds to the field curvature of the projection lens 9 by means of appropriate adjustment. The A set screws 7 are provided above and below the lens and picture window on the lens holder 8.
Each of the pressure runners 6 can, however, also be adjustable by itself, that is to say independently of the other, by separate adjusting screws or other means. A position of the runners, 6 can be done during the projection of the film for the best sharpness of the projection image.
The runners 5 and 6 have cylindrical surfaces as sliding surfaces for the film, so that the same friction between the film and the runners results for different curvatures.
In the device according to Fig.l it is. In contrast to the embodiments of the main patent, it is not necessary for the pressure runners 6 to be pressed against the film 4 by springs, since the film replaces the suspension due to the transverse curvature imposed on it and its internal tension.
In Fig. 2 a variant of the Ausfüh approximately example according to Fig. 1 is shown, in wel cher the image stage 3 with the image window is on the lens side and is attached to the ob jective holder 8 and the pressure skids 6 are arranged on the side of the projector housing.
Accordingly are; to the pressure skids 6 opposite the AndrLLickkufen 5 of the picture stage 3 in the transverse direction of the film 4 offset to the outside so that the film 4 receives the corresponding curvature of the field curvature of the lens 9.
In Fig. 3 a film guide is shown, which is particularly suitable for 8-mm, narrow films, since these only have a perforation on one side and therefore a sufficiently wide strip outside the picture for the film guide, on the other! because they only have a free strip approximately 6.16 mm wide.
The picture stage 22 'has only one narrow film slide 20 and 20'a on either side of the picture window. The pressure runner holder 19 also has only one narrow film slide 24 and 24a on both sides of the picture window, the runner 24 being opposite the runner 20,
but the runner 24a is offset inwardly relative to the runner 20a. The transverse curvature of the film 23 thus depends on the mutual position of the two runners 20a and 24a.
Depending on the set distance of the to pressure runners 24a from the picture stage 22, the film 23 receives a corresponding The curvature of the film is therefore adjustable.
The curvature of the film can, however, be asymmetrical due to the one-sided alignment. This asymmetrical curvature is eliminated in that the edges of the film 23 are guided by film edge guide strips 25 and 26, the strip 2'6 being adjustable and adjustable in the transverse direction.
By moving the strip 26, which presses the film against the other edge guide strip 25, the curvature becomes approximately symmetrical. The film edge pressure bar 26 leaves the full when the film guide channel is open; The width of the film is free and is only automatically pressed against the film 23 when the film guide channel is closed in such a way that the film then has a transverse curvature approximately symmetrical to the optical axis.
The setting of the Andruckkufe 24a he follows by screws 28; it can also be done by other technical means.
Likewise, the runners 24 and 24a can also be effective independently of one another, in that the runners 24 are placed under spring pressure, while the runners 24a can be variably adjusted in their distance from the stage by independent mechanical devices.
By means of the devices described, it is possible to eliminate the curvature of the film opposite to the curvature of the field of view of conventional projection lenses and even to give the film a curvature in the transverse direction to its longitudinal axis which approximately corresponds to the curvature of the field of the lens. As a result, the projection image is as sharp as in the center on both sides, up to the corners, despite the field curvature of the lens. Only in the longitudinal axis of the film is it not adapted to the field curvature of the objective.
There are therefore ge rings out of focus in the longitudinal axis of the film at the top and bottom of the projection image. If you want to give the film a slight longitudinal curvature in addition to the transverse curvature imposed on it, these blurred areas in the projection image are also eliminated. This can be done (FIG. 4) by placing the runners 30 at least in the area of the image window 31 arches in the longitudinal direction according to the B image field curvature of the lens (32),
so that the film also has a curvature corresponding to the image field curvature of the lens in the longitudinal direction. The longitudinal curvature just described, in addition to the transverse curvature of the film, is not of the same importance as the transverse curvature, since the height of the Büdfenwind is significantly less than its width or
the diagonal of the image window and thus the blurring caused by the field curvature of the lens above and below the projection image in the area of the longitudinal axis of the film is not so large that it is disruptive when using good projection lenses.
Particularly when using high-opening projection lenses, care must be taken that the optical axis of the lens. is exactly perpendicular to the stage.
This can be achieved in that when the projection apparatus is assembled, the picture stage is precisely set on its base by means of an adjustable three- or multi-point support; this can be done, for example, by adjusting screws. The image stage is expediently adjusted during the projection of a film on the basis of the projection image, and then the image stage is finally fixed in its position.
