The subject of the invention is a spirit level designed as an inclinometer which can be used in particular in the construction industry.
The invention consists in that a support disc is attached to the setting plate of the spirit level, in which an axis for the nabme of a rotatable support carrying a dragonfly is used, whereby locking means supported on the axis are provided for the fixed flight of the support on the support disc, by means of which a sliding surface of the support provided at a distance from the axis can be pressed against the supporting disc.
The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows in elevation a section of the set plate of the N spirit level with it BEFE Stig! tem inclinometer.
Figure 2 is a vertical section through the axis of the inclinometer.
One side wall of the set plate 1 is provided with a recess 2 into which a metallic support washer 3, which has a ssern Ringtianeh 4, is inserted and fastened to the wood of the set plate by means of two screws 5. The center of the support disk 3 is provided with a rearwardly projecting hub 6 into which an axle 7 is inserted and fastened by means of a pin 8. On the axis 7 a circular support 9 is rotatably mounted, which a dragonfly 10 be known type, for. B. made of plexiglass (registered trademark).
The support 9 forms a scale ring 11 on its front side, and on its side it is provided along the circumference, at a certain distance from the axis 7, with an annular sliding surface 12 with which it rests against the support disk 3. The front end portion of the axle 7 is head-shaped with a larger diameter and has a number of axially aligned holes in which pins 13 are inserted, which protrude slightly over the front head end of the axle. An annular spring 14 is inserted between the rear end face of the axle head and the supporting disc 3, against which the rear ends of the pins 13 abut. A locking screw 15 is screwed into the front face of the axle 7, the head of which rests against the outer ends of the pins 13.
When the screw 15 is screwed into the axle, its head presses against the pins 13, which act against the annular spring 14, which flexibly transfers the pressure to the support 9; this is pressed with its sliding surface 12 against the support ring and fixed on it.
Two graduations 16 and 17 are attached to the scale ring 11, each of which interacts with a mark 18 on the end face of the ring flange 4 of the support disc. The division 16 shows the inclination in degrees, and the division 17 in percentages.
To measure an inclination, the set plate is placed on the inclined surface, the screw 15 is slightly loosened and then the support 9 carrying the level is rotated about the axis 7 until the level enters.
The inclination can then be read off on the scales 16 or 17 in degrees or percentages. If a structural part is to be given a certain inclination, the support 9 is adjusted to the desired inclination with one of the two scales. Then, by tightening the screw 15, the support is clamped to the supporting disc. The setting plate can then be placed on the relevant structural part and this can be adjusted until the level 10 has been played. He then has the desired inclination. When the support 10 is set and fixed by means of the screw 15, the setting plate can be carried around and brought to various workplaces without the risk of the adjustment made being lost due to inadvertent rotation of the support.
By arranging the sliding surface 12 on the edge of the circular support 9, at the greatest possible distance from the axis of rotation of the support, a large friction surface is obtained, so that a relatively low contact pressure generated with the locking screw 15 is sufficient to hold the support 9 in the determined position. On the other hand, the intermediate storage of the annular spring 14 eliminates any play of the support between the support disk 3 and the head of the axle 7, and the screw 15 can be used to adjust the pressure transmitted via the spring so that the support is easily rotatable, but not moved out of the set position until the screw is tightened to fix the support.
Through the pins 13, the pressure of the screw is transmitted in the axial direction, perpendicular to the surfaces sliding on each other, which also prevents the support from being displaced from the set position while the locking device is being tightened.
The invention is of course not limited to the embodiment shown.
In particular, a different type of locking device could be used, and the divisions of the degrees or percentages could be arranged differently, for example the divisions could be provided on the fixed support disk.
