The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of socket pipes, which offer the possibility of such pipes for example for sprinkler systems and similar purposes from smooth, thin-walled, welded sheet metal pipes with the coupling sleeve in one piece and to be produced in one continuous operation.
According to the invention, the tube is first expanded cylindrically near its end by circumferential bodies, for example rollers or balls. This widened pipe end is then pushed over profiled circulating bodies up to a stop and, at the same time, material is supplied by circulating these bodies and simultaneously pushing them outwards.
According to the invention, the device used to carry out this method consists of a circumferential body in which the balls and profile rollers used for expansion are mounted in a radially displaceable manner, and a mandrel axially penetrating this circumferential part and displaceable relative to it, which has several frustoconical shoulders , through which the balls and profile rollers can be pressed outwards one after the other, and also from a feed device for the pipe.
An embodiment of the method according to the invention and a device suitable for its implementation are shown in the drawing in a purely schematic form and are described below.
FIGS. 1 to 5 explain the individual process steps in the deformation of the socket using longitudinal sections through the pipe end; 6 shows an axial section through the expansion device in the position corresponding to the procedural step according to FIG. 2, FIG. 7 a.
Cross-section along the line VI-VII according to FIG. 6, FIG. 8 a section through the device in the process step corresponding to FIG. 4, FIG. 9 a cross-section along the line IX-IX according to FIG. B.
10 and 11 explain the effect of a material feed.
In Fig. 1 a thin-walled, smooth, ge welded pipe piece is shown before the formation of the sleeve. This tube is initially expanded to the diameter B by rolling near its end to a certain length as shown in FIG. For this purpose, the tube is clamped slightly behind the end to be expanded according to FIG. 6 by means of clamping jaws in a feed device 2, which by any suitable means, for example via a rack 3 and a gear 4, on which a force P acts, in Rich device can be moved against the expansion device.
This expansion device consists of a revolving body 5, which can be driven in any way and has two cages 6 and 7, of which the latter receives a number of radially displaceable balls 8 ble. Inside this body a mandrel 9 is axially displaceable ge superimposed. This mandrel has several, partly conical, partly cylindrical shoulders and is initially pushed so far into the ball cage 7 during the machining process in the direction of the arrow X counter to the Vorsehub- direction of the clamping device 2 that the balls 8 through the cylindrical mandrel 10 radially pushed outwards.
At the same time, the pipe end is pushed forward by the tensioning device in the opposite direction by the distance E-F and a cylindrical widening approx. Diameter B is formed as a result.
By next upsetting the tube, this is then expanded to the diameter A while maintaining the same wall thickness (Fig. 3).
The shaping of the coupling then takes place with the help of the profile rollers 11, which are mounted in the cage 6 so that they can be radially displaced and are pushed outwards through the conical surface 12 as the mandrel is advanced further. During this process, the pipe end is pressed against the stop 13 and material is continuously pushed in so that a weakening of the wall thickness is avoided and, depending on the size of the material supply, even a thickening, i.e. a considerable strengthening at the top, is achieved. As a result, the pipe cross section is given the shape shown in FIG. 10.
Fig. 11 shows, in contrast, which wall thickness the coupling part would get without material advance; it would be so thin that both mechanical and operational safety would be severely impaired.
Fig. 4 shows the profile b of the coupling sleeve obtained in this way.
Depending on the type of coupling, the part c located behind the profile b can then also be used. of the pipe are expanded in basically the same way to a diameter C which is slightly larger than the starting diameter D of the pipe, but smaller than the diameter B of the cylindrical part of the ilTuffe.
