Waterproof watch case, of generally rectangular shape The present invention relates to a waterproof watch case, of generally rectangular shape, comprising a glass in the form of a cap to which is removably fixed a back having two parallel edges.
This box is characterized in that two opposite sides of the wall of the glass and the edges of the bottom have guides allowing the base to slide relative to the glass, these guides being shaped so as to obtain a wedging ensuring the fixing. tion of the bottom and sealing of the box.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the box which is the subject of the invention.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3 are respectively perspective views of the caseband-bezel, the crystal and the back of this embodiment.
Figs. 4 and 5 are respectively transverse and longitudinal necks of the complete box.
The watch case shown in the drawing comprises three parts, namely a crystal 1 in the form of a cap, a base 2 and a caseband-bezel 3 which are integral with the lugs 4. The crystal 1 is made of transparent material, for example a synthetic material such as the plexiglass brand product.
The box has a general rectangular shape, that is to say that it comprises two rectilinear, opposite and parallel sides, the two on the very sides also being rectilinear in the example shown, but which may, where appropriate, have another form. The wall of the mirror 1 is designated by the number 5. The bottom 2 has on each of its two opposite rectilinear sides a rim 6.
The two long, parallel sides of the wall 5 of the mirror 1 and the edges 6 of the bottom 2 present guides making it possible to make the bottom 2 grout relative to the glass 1 in the manner of a drawer, these guides being shaped so as to obtain a wedging ensuring the fixing of the bottom 2 and the sealing of the box.
In the particular case shown in the sin, these guides are formed as follows on the outer face of the long sides of the king pa 5 is provided a rectilinear groove 7, the direction of which forms a slight angle with the lower edge of the wall 5; view in fig. 2, this groove 7 goes up a little from the front to the back.
Each of the edges 6 of the bottom has a projection 8 directed inwards and the thickness of which, measured in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the bottom 2, decreases from one end to the other of the bottom 2; we see in fig. 3 that this thickness decreases from front to back, the lower edge of the projection 8 rising slightly and having an inclination corresponding to that of the groove 7. The maximum thickness of the projection 8 is at most equal to the width of the groove 7.
To fix the base 2 to the mirror 1, it suffices to engage the projections 8 of the base 2 in the grooves 7 of the mirror 1, taking care to hold the parts 1 and 2 in the respective positions of fig. 2 and 3. In other words, it must be ensured that the bottom 2 presents to the glass 1 its end at which the projections 8 are the thinnest and that, on the other hand, the ice 1 presents to the base 2 its end at which the grooves 7 are closest to the lower edge of the wall 5. When the protrusions 8 are engaged in the grooves 7, the bottom 2 is pushed by sliding it until it closes the opening ice 1.
During this movement, the bottom 2, due to the inclination of the grooves 7, gets closer and closer to the ice 1 and the jam produced requires a force large enough to push the bottom 2 to the end of its race.
A sealing package 9 of compressible material, for example rubber or synthetic material, is interposed between the bottom 2 and the mirror 1. Preferably, this pack 9 is glued to the bottom 2 in order to prevent it does not slip during the installation of the base 2. The lower part of the wall 5 of the glass 1 is cut in a double bevel (see fig. 4) so as to increase the specific pressure of the glass 1 on the package 9 The sealing of the box is thus perfectly guaranteed.
The tube 10 intended to support the winding stem is here made of metal and is embedded in the mass of the crystal 1. It could also have come in one piece with the crystal 1.
The middle-bezel 3 surrounds the wall 5 of the crystal and is adjusted to the notch on the latter. To this end, the crystal 1 has on its two parallel rectilinear sides a groove 11 in which the free edge of the bezel 3 engages (see fig. 4).
To assemble the box described, we start by fixing the back 2 to the crystal 1, as described above, then we cap the whole of the caseband-bezel 3, the lower edge of the latter coming into contact with the edges 6 bottom 2 (fig. 4). At the ends, fitted with lugs 4, the middle part 3 goes lower and comes flush with the underside of the bottom 2 (fig. 5). To dismantle the case, a knife blade is inserted into the seal 12 between the middle part 3 and the edge 6 of the back 2 and remove the middle 3, then the back 2 is slid relative to the mirror 1 in the opposite direction of movement made during assembly.
