Description
Internal combustion engine The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine, the cylinder of which is provided with a circular combustion chamber which has a smaller maximum diameter than the cylinder diameter and a valve opening with a cone-shaped valve seat.
According to the invention, the combustion frame is formed on the one hand by a truncated cone-shaped recess in the cylinder cap that widens towards the piston head and on the other hand by a recess arranged in the piston head, the design being such that the wall of the recess in the Cylinder disks do this with a coaxial, cone-shaped valve seat, and at the inner dead center.
When the piston is located, it runs at approximately the same inclination as the valve seat against the edge of the recess in the piston head and the edge of the recess coincides at least approximately with the outer edge of the recess in the cylinder cap in the axial direction of the cylinder.
The accompanying drawings relate to exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. Corresponding parts are labeled with the same numbers or letters in all versions.
1 shows a section through part of a cylinder of a four-stroke injection internal combustion engine, corresponding to the lines I-I of FIG. 2, and FIG. 2 shows a section corresponding to the lines II-II and
III-III in Figure 1; Fig. 3 shows the upper part of the cylinder with the inlet valve open; FIG. 4 shows the same parts in the inner dead point of the piston during combustion and FIG. 5 with the exhaust valve open; 6 shows a variant during the flushing period; FIG. 7 is a horizontal section corresponding to line IV-IV in FIG. 3 and FIG. 8 is a horizontal section corresponding to line V-V in FIG. 5; 9 and 10 show vertical sections perpendicular to the crankshaft of further internal combustion engines; Fig. 11 shows a section corresponding to Fig.2, as a variant of Fig.10, a gas engine.
According to FIGS. 1-5, 7 and 8, the cylinder of the internal combustion engine has a circular combustion chamber, which has a smaller maximum paint diameter than the cylinder diameter (Fig.l) and a valve opening with a conical valve seat 3. The combustion chamber is formed on the one hand by a frustoconical recess 5 in the cylinder cover 2 which widens towards the piston head and on the other hand by a recess 7 provided in the bottom of the piston 6. The edge of the recess 7 coincides with the outer edge of the recess 5 as seen in the axial direction of the cylinder.
The bottom surface of the recess 7 in the piston and the opposite surface 8 of the Ven tilteller in the cylinder cover are designed as parallel, circular surfaces. The recess and the depression are arranged coaxially to the valve seat. The wall 4 of the recess in the cylinder cover begins at the coaxial, cone-shaped valve seat and runs at approximately the same inclination as the valve seat against the edge of the recess 7 in the piston head. This has the largest diameter at the top.
In the valve opening two mutually guided valves 9 and 11 with the valve plates 8 and 10 are provided. The valve 9 is the outlet valve, the valve 11 is the inlet valve. In Fig. 1, the valves 9 and 11 are shown in solid lines in the closed position. In dash-dotted lines, however, the inlet valve 11 is shown in geöff netem state and the position of the piston 6 when the valve has just opened completely. Then the cross-section of the passage between the valve body and the wall of the recess when seated on the valve disk is smallest.
In particular, the passage cross-section, designated by the distance d, between the seat on the valve plate and the wall of the recess is smaller than the passage cross-section between this seat on the valve plate and the seat surface on the cylinder cover. The part of the piston head surrounding the recess 7 has a conical surface 12 sloping outward from the edge of the recess. The cylinder cover 2 has a likewise conical surface 13 with the same inclination, the tip of which is inside the cylinder cover. When the piston is in the inner dead center position, the surface 12 of the piston 6 comes as close as possible to the surface 13 of the cylinder cover.
The air located between the surfaces 12 and 13 is displaced during the movement of the piston in the inner dead center against the recess in the cylinder cover. The cylinder liner 14 is surrounded by a dumbbell 14 '. A seal 15 is inserted between the cylinder barrel 14 and the cylinder cover 2. The cylinder cover 2 and the cylinder jacket 14 ', possibly together with the liner 14, could th also be made from one piece.
The fresh air passes through the inlet channel 25 into the work space (Fig.7). As a result of the spiral configuration of the channel end 25 ', the fresh air executes a rotational movement as it enters the working space, as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 2, in order to achieve an even fuel distribution and good flushing and cooling of the cylinder.
In the cylinder cover 2 two bores 161 (FIG. 2) are provided which open into the wall of the recess into which fuel injectors 16 and 16 'are installed.
The fuel injection nozzles are evenly distributed around the combustion chamber and are inclined towards the recess in the piston base. Their axes run past the side of the cylinder axis so that the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in the direction of the vortex movement.
The inlet valve 11 is actuated by means of the guide sleeve 17 and the spring plate 18 by the valve lever 19 against the action of the spring 20 (FIG. 3). The actuation of the outlet valve 9 takes place via the valve rod 21 and the spring plate 22 through the valve lever 23 against the action of the spring 24. The channels 27 in the valve 11 and the outlet channel 26 (Fig. 5, 8) are used to discharge the exhaust gases. .
Measured in the axial direction of the cylinder, the recess 7 in the piston head is larger than the recess in the cylinder cap, so that when the valve is closed (Fig. 4), the combustion chamber is largely limited by the piston head. Since the piston crown is always warmer than the cooled cylinder cover 2, even when the piston is cooled, because of the poorer heat outflow to the outside in operation, this design is favorable with regard to the heat losses during combustion and expansion.
In addition to the bores 161 for the injection nozzles, a bore 29 is provided in the cylinder cover, which opens into the combustion chamber in the wall of the recess 5 in the cylinder cover 2 and is used to receive a starting air valve 29 '. Through this valve, pressure air is fed into the working area of the machine to start the machine.
The four-stroke internal combustion engine according to FIG. 6 works with supercharging, the inein other guided valves are shown during the flushing process when both the inlet valve 11 and the outlet valve 9 is open. The scavenging huff flows through the spiral channel 25, 25 'and then between the valve seat 3 and the inlet valve 11 while cooling the wall 4 of the frustoconical recess into the combustion chamber and flows between the outer part 28 of the recess 7 in the piston head while cooling the inlet valve 11 and the outlet valve 9 through to the outlet channel 26 out.
When flushing in the inner dead center of the piston, the outlet valve protrudes into the recess in the piston head, and the flat valve disk 8 comes as close as possible to the flat bottom 28 of the recess. The profiles and dimensions of the recess 5 in the cylinder cover and the recess 7 are designed so that in the state where the two valves, when they are open during flushing in the inner dead center of the piston, together with the recess 5 and the recess 7 form a space which is U-shaped in section through the cylinder axis.
Since the edge of the recess in the piston head coincides with the outer edge of the recess in the cylinder cover, viewed in the axial direction of the cylinder, and no sudden changes in cross-section occur in the flow path of the scavenging air flow from the inlet to the outlet of the combustion chamber, flow losses due to wall detachment and cross flows can be prevented . The speed of the purge air advantageously increases gradually along the flow path.
The adjacent to the recess 7 in the piston head, conical surface 12 of the Kol benbodens rises from the edge of the recess to the outside. The tip of the conical surface is inside the piston. The surface 13 in the cylinder cover 2 has the same inclination and comes as close as possible to the surface 12 when the piston is in the inner dead center. The air located between the surfaces 12 and 13 is displaced ver against the bottom 28 of the piston recess during the movement of the piston against the cylinder cover.
In the internal combustion engine according to FIG. 9, a four-stroke diesel engine, the surface 13 of the cylinder cover 2 and the surface 12 of the piston head that interacts with it are flat. The inlet valve 11 is actuated by the chunk 30 and that of the outlet valve by the cam 31. These cams move adjacent control levers 32 which act on the valve levers 19 and 23 via the rods 33. The supply pipe 34 for the fresh air is connected to the inlet duct 25 and the discharge pipe 35 for the exhaust gases from the machine is connected to the outlet duct 26.
The fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber 1 by the fuel pump 36 via the lines 37, 38 and 39 and the fuel nozzles 16 and 16 '. However, a special pump with a separate supply line could also be arranged for each fuel injection nozzle 16, 16 '.
In the two-stroke combustion engine according to FIG. 10, the scavenging and charge air is guided through the line 34, the spiral-shaped channel 25 and the inlet valve 9 into the working chamber. The air executes a whirling movement when it enters the working space 1 and, during the scavenging, cleans the cylinder of the exhaust gases that escape through slots 261 and the exhaust duct 26.
In the two-stroke internal combustion engine with fuel / air mixture intake according to FIG. 11, spark plugs 162 are installed in the cylinder cover 2 instead of the fuel injection nozzles 16 '.
