Planetary gear train transmission device It is known that, under the effect of torsional loads, the shafts and the gear wheels mounted on these shafts, in particular the pinions of relatively small diameter, that is to say ie of significant axial length, deforms helically, which has the consequence that the teeth also deform in the same way and that the contact surfaces between these teeth and the teeth of the engaged wheel are thus reduced.
The present invention relates in particular to a gear transmission device in which this helical deformation of the teeth is compensated.
In grained transmission devices subjected to high loads, tooth deformation can increase the contact surface load to an unacceptable level. The transmission device which is the subject of the present invention makes it possible to keep the load per unit of contact surface of the teeth below a critical value.
It has already been proposed to form the teeth of a pair so that, under the effect of a load, the torsional deformation of the pinion, or of the pinion and of the wheel, as the case may be, brings the teeth into alignment between them. with each other. However, the realization comes up against manufacturing difficulties and a drawback is that the alignment can only be exact for a predetermined value of the torsional load.
The planetary gear train transmission device forming the object of the present invention, comprising a sun gear of relatively small diameter and relatively long in relation to this diameter, at one end of which the neck is applied, and at least one satel lite wheel of larger diameter, meshing with the sun gear and carried by a landing gear, is characterized in that it comprises elastic mounting means supporting the axis of the satellite wheel and arranged so as to allow an angular displacement of the axis of the planet wheel to break its parallelism with the axis of the sun gear,
by the effect of the action and reaction forces to which the wheels and pinions integral with the planetary axis are subjected as a result of the application of said torque, in order to place the teeth of the planet wheel practically in the direction general helically deformed teeth of the sun gear.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the transmission device forming the subject of the present invention, constituting a reduction planetary gear train, arranged between the turbine and the propeller of a group. gas turbine propeller thruster of an aircraft.
The single figure of the drawing is a view, in axial section, with cutaway, of said reduction gear train.
Gear transmission devices of the type shown are called upon to transmit high torques at high speeds and with relatively high reduction ratios. They are moreover subject to limitations, as regards their size, by the construction and arrangement of the propulsion unit of which they form part. It was therefore necessary to include large and small diameter wheels and pinions in these reduction transmission devices.
The gear train shown is mounted in a housing 1, inside an annular duct 2 arranged so as to allow air to enter the compressor of the group, and it is disposed in front of the shaft 3 of this turbocharger and behind the shaft 4 of the propeller of the aircraft.
The shaft 3 of the turbocharger is keyed on an input shaft 5 at the front end of which is formed a sun gear 6 of small diameter and significant length. The propeller shaft 4 is hollow; it is connected to a landing gear 7 which carries three sets of planet gears, only one of which is shown in the drawings. Each of these assemblies comprises a shaft 8 on which is formed a satel lite wheel 9, of relatively large diameter, which meshes with the sun gear 6, and a pinion 10, of relatively small diameter, but this being larger than that of the Spur gear 6, which is attached to shaft 8, on the rear side of wheel 9.
The planet gear 10 meshes with a ring 11 having internal teeth and which is mounted on the pa king of the casing 1 which is also the wall of the air intake duct.
The landing gear 7 comprises two discs, front and rear, 12 and 13, each having a central opening, the three satellite assemblies being mounted between these discs, in roller bearings 14 and 15, the satel lite wheel 9 being adjacent to the front disc 12 and the pinion 10 being adjacent to the rear disc 13, while the discs 12 and 13 are connected to each other at three places on their internal face, located between the satellite assemblies, by columns hollow 16, formed integrally with the rear disc 13, and which are fixed to the front disc 12 by means of bolts and adjusted studs. This front disc is formed integrally with the hollow rear end of the propeller shaft 4, which is supported by a bearing 18 carried by the housing 1.
The front end of the input shaft 5 is supported by a roller bearing 19 mounted inside the hollow part of the propeller shaft 4. The rear disc 13 is connected to a sleeve 20 which surrounds the rear end of the input shaft 5 and the front end of the shaft 3 of the turbocharger. This sleeve 20 is supported by a ball bearing 21 disposed on the rear end of the input shaft 5 and also in a set of bearings 22 which is fixed to the housing 1, this set comprising a ball bearing 23 and a roller bearing 24 arranged side by side.
Accessory drive members intended, for example, to operate fuel or lubrication pumps, are connected to the shaft 3 of the turbocharger and to the rear end of the sleeve 20 respectively, by means of bevel gears. 27, 28 and radial shafts 25 and 26 passing through the air intake duct 2.
When torque is transmitted from the shaft 3 of the turbocharger to the input shaft 5, the reaction load acting on the teeth of the sun gear 6, which must be of relatively small diameter in order to allow the desired reduction ratio. , causes a helical deformation of any generatrix of this pinion 6 and therefore of the teeth thereof. If we consider each set of satellites in isolation, we see that if a load is applied to the teeth of the wheel 9 by the teeth of the sun gear 6, another reaction load, of greater value, is applied in the same general direction to teeth of pinion 10 by teeth of toothed ring 11.
These two applied loads tend to destroy the parallelism of the axis of the shaft 8 of the satellite assembly with the axis of the input shaft 5. The columns 16, connecting the front and rear disks 12 and 13 arm, are made of such material and constructed to allow, to a certain extent, a relative rotation, elastically limited, between the two disks of the arm, around the input shaft axis. The greatest load transverse to the axis of the shaft of the satellite assembly is supported by the roller bearing 15; the smallest load, by bearing 14.
The construction is therefore such that the relative rotation of the disks 12 and 13 can be predetermined so as to compensate for the helical deformation of the solar pin.
Furthermore, since the reaction load applied to the teeth of the two pinions of the shaft 8 varies with the torque applied to the input shaft 5, this compensation for deformation can be approximately correct for values of this. torque between significantly spaced limits.
The alignment between the teeth of each planet wheel 9 and those of the sun gear 6 therefore does not depend on the bending of the planet shaft 8, but on the torsion of the landing gear 7 and the displacement of said shaft which result.
In the embodiment which has just been described, the energy transmission is effected by the two discs, front and rear, of the landing gear. When calculating the rigidity of the columns 16, it is therefore necessary to take into account the reaction torque exerted from the shaft 26 on the rear disc. On the other hand, the reaction torque coming from the shaft 26 has no influence on the torsion of the suspension arm nor on that of the sun gear 6.
Although, in the example described above, the wheel 9 which meshes with the sun gear 6 is located on the side of the front disc 12, thus ensuring maximum displacement of the shaft 8, in certain cases, provision is made for respective reverse positions of wheel 9 and pinion 10 on shaft 8.
