Unit on internal combustion engines consisting of cooling water pump and alternator. The invention relates to a cooling water pump and alternator best existing unit on internal combustion engines, the cooling water pump and alternator are coaxial and are driven together. Such coaxial arrangements of cooling water pump and alternator with common drive are known in internal combustion engines and offer the advantage of better space utilization and a simplification of the drive.
In these known arrangements, the cooling water pump and the alternator are mounted separately on the engine housing, which creates difficulties in assembly, especially in the case of constructions in which the impeller of the water pump is arranged on the stub shaft of the alternator. With such training, the precise setting of the size of the gap between the impeller and the pump housing, on which the efficiency of the water pump is largely dependent,
awkward and time-consuming, as it is necessary to make this setting when assembling the units on the engine.
The invention now aims to eliminate these disadvantages iuxd consists in the fact that the housing of the cooling water pump and the support of the alternator are connected to a part that can be attached to the internal combustion engine.
Due to the joint machining of the housing of the water pump and the support of the alternator, which are now slightly in the same place. Clamping can take place, an exact alignment of the housing axis with the axis of the alternator is guaranteed, and the assembly of the housing and support can now be carried out easily and in a simple manner independently of the assembly on the engine, without the need for a special setting . In particular for orders
In which the impeller of the water pump sits directly on a stub shaft of the alternator, there is the advantage. that the correct adjustment of the impeller to the housing is guaranteed.
In this case, the housing of the cooling water pump, the support of the alternator and the common base plate, which may be seen before, are expediently formed from a single casting, which simplifies production.
The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.
1 shows a plan view of the unit consisting of the generator and the cooling water pump, the cooling water pump being shown in axial section.
Fig. 2 shows a plan view of the pump housing and the support of the light machine.
FIG. 3 shows a section along line III-III in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 a section along line IV-IV in FIG. 1.
The impeller 1 of the cooling water pump is set on the stub axle 2 of the alternator 3 by means of a screw cap 4 and rotates within the pump housing 5 formed as a spiral housing. The Sangkrüm mer 6 is attached by means of screws 7 to the Pum pen housing. The gap 8 between the impeller 1 and the suction elbow 6 must be set as precisely as possible in order to achieve good efficiency.
The support 9 of the alternator 3 is trough-shaped corresponding to the shape of the housing of the alternator.
The pump housing '5 is now connected to the support 9 through the intermediary of a base plate 10, wherein, as the Ausfüh approximately example of the drawing shows, the Ge housing 5, with the support 9 and the base plate 10 forms a single cast piece. The parts 5 and 9 are connected as a part that can be attached to the internal combustion engine.
The alternator 3 is fixed on its support by means of a clamping bracket 11, which is clamped to the support 9 by screws 1'2. Since the support surface of the support 9 and the housing 5 are machined together, the axis is precisely aligned of the alternator with the housing axis, so that there are no difficulties when assembling the alternator and water pump.
With the mediation of the common base plate '10, this unit can now be fixed on the motor housing 13 by means of screws 14. Here, as Fig. 3 of the drawing shows, the motor housing is designed with a sealing surface 15, to which the pressure port 16 of the cooling water pump is connected, so that the water drain from the pump is passed directly through the common base plate 10, which in turn also one with the sealing surface 15 cooperating sealing. has area. The supply line to the motor is also passed directly through the plate 10.
