Automatic winding mechanism for a timepiece. The subject of the present invention is an automatic winding mechanism for a timepiece, comprising a moving mass capable of transmitting its energy, regardless of its direction of rotation, to the ratchet (the barrel.
This mechanism is characterized in that a pinion, driven by the moving mass, meshes with the external teeth of a double-toothed annular wheel rotating around a bearing plate, a satellite, the latter being in engagement, of on the one hand, with the internal teeth of said wheel and, on the other hand, with a second coaxial wheel to which the plate is freely mounted, this second wheel being connected to the barrel ratchet by the intermediary of a train of 'reduction gears, the direction of rotation in the.
transmission being controlled, on the one hand, by a pawl carried by the plate and engaged in the toothing of said second wheel and., on the other hand, by a. snap-in allowing the plate to turn in one direction.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the mechanism forming the subject of the invention.
The fi-. 1 is a plan view of this embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view, leveling by the axes of the main moving parts, on an enlarged scale.
Fig._ 3 is a sectional view of a detail, on an even larger scale. The automatic winding mechanism shown in the drawing comprises a movable mass 1, pivoted in the center of the movement and capable of making complete turns around its axis. The hub 2 of mass 1 rotates on a tenon 3 integral with a plate 4 fixed to the finishing bridge 5.
A key 6, engaged in a groove of te no 3, maintains. axially the mass 1. Coaxially with its hub 2, the mass 1 has a collar. 7 on which is driven a pin gnon 8 which meshes with the external teeth 9 of an annular wheel 10.
The latter also has internal teeth 11 and is mounted so as to be able to rotate around a plate 12. For this purpose, the annular wheel 10 is made integral with a ring 13 by means of three screws 14 and the ring 13 surrounds the plate 72 with a slight play. The latter pivots freely between a pinion 15 and a wheel 16 adjusted to square on an axis 17.
The plate 12 carries a satellite pinion 18 which is engaged, on the one hand, with the internal den ture of the wheel 10 and, on the other hand, with the wheel 16 on the hub of which the plate is mounted. 12. The satel lite 18 pivots freely on a tenon 19 driven into the plate 12, and is held axially, on the one hand, by the plate of the plate 12 and, on the other hand, by a plate 20 fixed to the plate 12 by feet 21. A pawl 22, controlled by a 23 ft spring loaded at 24, is pivoted between the plate 12 and the plate 20 so as to engage the teeth of the wheel 16.
Under the plate 12 are hollowed out notches 25 arranged circularly, in which engages the end of a ratchet spring 26. The notches 25 and the spring 26 are. shaped so as to allow rotation of the plate 12 only counterclockwise (fig. 1). Fig. 3 shows this arrangement in detail, which offers the advantage of not subjecting the spring 26 to a force. buckling, but only. pull when the plate 12 tends to rotate clockwise (fig. 1).
The spring 26 is fixed on the finishing bridge 5.
Pinion 15 meshes with a wheel 27 integral with a pinion 28 which drives crown wheel 29; the latter is engaged with the ratchet. barrel. 30. The axis 17 is pi voted between the finishing bridge 5 and a winding bridge 31; this last one is. supposed in survey at the. fig. 1. and is shown there in phantom. As for the mobile 27, 28, it is pivoted between the plate 32 and the winding bridge 31.
The mechanism described and shown operates as follows. The movable mass 1 must drive the barrel ratchet 30, through the aforementioned components, so that the latter rotates in the clockwise direction (FIG. 1) whatever the situation. . the direction of rotation of said mass.
Suppose first that the mass 1. rotates in the direction of the arrow A. The pinion 8 rotates in the same direction and drives the annular wheel 10 in the opposite direction, with its satel lite 18. The latter, leaning against the wheel 16 would tend to roll on it by driving the plate 12, but the latter, carrying the pawl 22, carries said wheel 16 with it. The whole thing is done. block, satellite 1.8 being fixed and only serving as a trainer. The pinion 15, fixed on the same axis 17 as the wheel 1.6, drags the wheel 27 and. the pinion 28 in a clockwise direction (fig. 1).
The crown wheel 29 playing the role of a simple return, the barrel ratchet 30 will therefore also rotate clockwise (FIG. 1). If the mass 1 rotates in the opposite direction of the arrow A, it drives the wheel 10 in the clockwise direction (fig. 1). This wheel moves the satellite 18 in the same direction and would tend to make it roll on the wheel 1.6 by driving the plate 12. However, the latter, retained by the snap-in spring 26 entering one of the notches 25, does not can turn.
The pivoting tenon 19 of the satellite 18 therefore remains fixed and the satellite rotates clockwise in place with the wheel 10. It drags the wheel 16 in the opposite direction on the den ture of which the pawl 22 slides without effect. By means of pinion 15, wheel 16 drives wheel 27 in a clockwise direction (FIG. 1). The sequence of movements becomes the same as in the previous case, that is to say that the barrel ratchet 30 is driven in the clockwise direction of the fiy. 1.
It is understood that the pinion 28 could directly attack the barrel ratchet let 30 on the condition that the ratchet 22 and the ratchet spring 26 act in the opposite direction on their respective moving parts, to obtain the antiliorary direction of rotation of the pin. gnon 28.
