Description

<B> Additional patent </B> to the main patent No. 307630. Process for the production of a copper-compatible disazo dye. ('<B> T </B> egenstancl present patent is a process for the preparation of a copperable disazo dye. The process is characterized in that 1 mole of 4,4'-diaceto-acetylamino-3,3'-dimethyl-1,

1'-diphenyl with 1 mol of dianotated 4-amino-diphenylurea-3-carboxylic acid-4'-sulphonic acid and 1 mol of dianotated 5-acetylamino-2-aminobenzoic acid.

The new disazo dye obtained is a yellow powder. Fibers made from natural or regenerated cellulose are dyed in clear, greenish yellow tones, which change the nuances only slightly during copper plating and have excellent wet and light fastnesses.

<I> Example: </I> 35.1 parts of 4-amino-diphenylurea-3-carboxylic acid-4'-sulfonic acid are dissolved in 400 parts of water and 8.2 parts of caustic soda, mixed with 13.8 parts Sodium nitrite, cools to 5 and pours 40 parts of conc. Hydrochloric acid.

After some time, the lemon yellow precipitated diazonium compound is neutralized with 9 parts of sodium carbonate and converted into a solution of 38 parts of 4,4'-diacetaoacetylamino-3,3'-dimethyl-1,1'-diphenyl in 500 parts of water and 9 parts of caustic soda dripped in.

As soon as the coupling has ended, 20 parts of sodium bicarbonate and the diazonium compound from 19.4 parts of 5-acetylamino-2-amino-benzoic acid are added. After 12 hours, the mixture is slowly heated to 80, 101 / o table salt, calculated on the volume obtained, is allowed to stir for one hour at 80 and filtered off.

The disazo dye of the formula obtained in this way
EMI0001.0043
is a yellow powder which, when mixed with equal parts of sodium pyrophosphate, dissolves in water and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a yellow color. Fibers made from natural or regenerated cellulose are dyed in clear, greenish yellow tones which, when treated with copper salts according to known methods, change the nuances only slightly and have excellent wet and light fastness properties.
