Bumper bearing for a timepiece mobile. The present invention relates to a bumper pa bind for a timepiece mobile. This bearing is characterized in that the part (the bearing intended to receive the pivot of the mobile is surrounded and. Supported by at least one ring made of elastic thermoplastic material, the shock absorption being obtained solely by virtue of the elasticity of the said matter.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a diametrical sectional view of the first.
The fi-. ? and 3 are similar views, on a reduced scale, of the second and third embodiments.
The bearing shown in, FIG. 1 comprises a pierced stone 1 forming a pad and a counter-pivot 2, which are held in a bearing body 3 intended to be fixed in the plate or in a bridge of the. timepiece.
The pierced stone 1 is driven into a socket 4 presenting. a rim 4a in its lower part. The sleeve 4 is fitted with a hard friction in a ring 5 of resilient thermoplastic material such as: nylon. cellulose acetate, polystyrene, etc. The ring 5 is forced into a recess 6 of the bearing body 3. The counter-pivot 2 is. driven into a socket 7 having a lower rim 7a which rests on a shoulder 8 of the bearing housing 3. A ring 9, similar to the ring 5, adheres tightly to the socket 7 and to the wall 10 of the bearing housing 3.
A collar 11 is cut in the. cylindrical part of the sleeve 7 and is curved so as to rest on the upper face of the counter-pivot \ ?. An annular plate 12 maintains the year 9 chi on the opposite side to the rim 7a of the sleeve 7. The plate 12 is partially engaged in a groove 13 which the bearing body 3 presents. A device of the bayonet closure type, known in itself and not described in detail, keeps the plate 12 in place. The inner edge of the latter is slightly curved downwards and ends in the vicinity of the collar 11.
During a radial impact, the pierced stone 1 moves laterally with its. socket 4, and the absorption of the. force is made only thanks to the elasticity of the ring 5. When an axial shock occurs, for example from bottom to top (fig. 1), the counter-pivot 2 is raised and, in its movement, causes the bush 7 via the flange 11; as a result, the ring 9 undergoes compression in the axial direction and absorbs the force.
In the second embodiment (fig. 2), the pierced stone 1 has around its periphery a shallow groove 14 in which is engaged a ring 15 of elastic thermoplastic material. Ring 15 is. maintained by its outer part in a groove 16 of a plug 17 driven into the a, plate or. in a bridge 18.
Likewise, a ring 19, thinner than 15 and also of elastic thermoplastic material, is. fitted on the one hand in a groove 20 of the counter-pivot 2 and in a groove 21 of the stopper 17. The two stones 1 and 2 are therefore suspended independently of one another in the bearing.
When a radial shock occurs, stone 1 moves sideways and. the. force is absorbed by the ring 1.5. During an axial shock, the counter-pivot 2 is lifted and the force is absorbed by the thin ring 19.
The bearing shown in, fig. 3 also includes a pierced stone 1 and counter-pivot 2. These two stones are: held in place by a single ring 22 introduced. force in the plate or the bridge 18. The ring 22, made of elastic thermoplastic material, acts as a flange. It comprises -an interior projection 23 resting against a shoulder 24 of the counter-pivot 2, and an interior projection 25 resting against a shoulder 26 of the pierced stone 1.
About halfway up, the ring 22 also has an internal collar 27 engaged between the two stones 1 and 2 in order to keep them at a certain distance from one another.
It is easy to see that the radial and axial shocks to which the bearing is subjected are absorbed by the ring 22 by the sole fact of the elasticity of the material which. constitutes it.
The bearings described offer the advantage of having no metal spring. The repositioning of the bearing parts following an impact is done safely and accurately. The manufacture of the elastic rings 5, 9, 15 and 19 is very easy, because the latter can be obtained by simple stamping.
According to a variant, one could also employ rings in the form of a torus. The stones 1 and 2 could be replaced by metallic elements, or even by a ball bearing.
