Wässerige Dispersion. .

Aqueous dispersion. . The subject of the present additional patent is a permanent aqueous dispersion which contains aminotriazine-aldehyde condensation compounds and high-polymer hydrocarbons. The aqueous dispersion can also contain pigments.
Aqueous dispersions according to the inven tion are stable and particularly suitable for producing adhesive coatings on any type of substrate. They can also be used with advantage to fix pigments, d. b. thus used for the production of pigment colorations or prints. The coatings obtained have high adhesive strength and resistance to the usual treatment methods.
The condensation compounds of aminotriazines with aldehydes, in particular formaldehyde, can be used in the form of water-soluble or water-insoluble condensation products. The latter are advantageously used as solutions in organic solvents or as aqueous dispersions with or without a content of organic solvents. It is also advantageous to use those precondensation products which are produced by condensation of the components in the presence of monovalent or polyvalent alcohols.
Suitable high-polymer hydrocarbons are saturated or unsaturated high-polymer aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbons, for example high-polymer cyclohexene, propylene, butylene, isobutylene, or mixtures or mixed polymers of these compounds.
These substances can, for example, by polymerization, e.g. B. at - 50 or below, or by Be acting with aluminum halides and possibly hydrogen halides in the presence of halogenated hydrocarbons. Highly polymeric diolefins such as butadiene, isoprene and their derivatives are also suitable.
Mixed polymers of butadiene with olefins, e.g. B. styrene. The high polymer compounds mentioned are insoluble in water. According to the process, they are used in the form of their aqueous dispersions with or without a content of organic solvents and dispersion-promoting additives.
The aqueous dispersions can contain the water both as an inner and an outer phase.
The amino-triazine-aldehyde condensation products and the high molecular weight hydrocarbons can be applied to the goods by immersing them in the dispersion. As an additive, plasticizing agents, dispersants such. B. polyvinyl alcohol, condensation compounds of ethylene oxide and higher molecular weight aliphatic alcohols or alkylphenols, soaps and the like. a. be used.
Advantageously, condensation accelerators are added, such as organic acids or acid-releasing compounds, for example ammonium rhodanide, ammonium oxalate, aluminum sulfate, etc. In the manufacture of the coatings or when printing on the dispersion, white or colored pigments, e.g. B. titanium dioxide, chrome yellow, iron oxide, vat dyes, insoluble azo dyes, etc., also use. When preparing printing pastes, suitable Verdiekiuigsmittel such.
B. water-soluble cellulose ethers, tragacanth, locust bean gum thickening, mutually used. After application to the goods, it is expedient to temperatures of 100 ° C. and above in order to obtain good fixation.
The joint use of the high polymer compounds mentioned and the condensation compounds results in a number of advantages over using the components alone. So is z. B. In most cases, the temperature required for the real fixation on the fibers in the aftertreatment is lower for the combination than for the components alone, which contributes significantly to the protection of the fiber.
If the combination of the polymeric products with the condensation products is used to fix pigments on fibrous materials, one often obtains prints or dyeings that are much stronger in color and more resistant to rubbing than when using the condensation products alone. At the same post-treatment temperature, the washfastness of the dyeings and prints is better with the combination than with the polymer compounds alone.
