Description

1, i fi-.

(fig. 4).

A method of manufacturing a dial, in particular for a timepiece. The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a dial, in particular. for timepiece.

This process is. characterized by the fact. that we strike at ehatid a block of metal to give it the shape of a plate on a face (the which appear two feet, make at least one hole in this plate and strike (the new this last to thin it without modifying the dimensions of said feet.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, in its various manufacturing phases, a watch dial obtained by the process according to the invention.

The fi-. 1 is a view in. shot of the dial in its first phase.

       The fi # y. 2 is a section on 11-11 of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a plan view in its second phase.

Fig. 4 is a cut in its third phase.

1, i fi-. :, is a plan view in its fourth phase and, the fi; -. 6 is a section along VI-VI of fi-. 5.

For the manufacture of this cadi-garlic, a block of metal is used which is hot struck so as to give it the shape of a relatively thick plate 1, of the order of a millimeter, on one side of which appears 2 feet which already have, after this operation, their final dimensions. A hole 3 is made halfway between the legs 2 (fig. 3). The plate 1 is then subjected to a new striking operation, but this time cold, the feet 2 being housed in corresponding holes in the die. This operation thins the plate which then has a thickness of the order of half a millimeter, without the feet 2 undergoing any deformation; on the other hand, the central hole 3 narrows. (fig. 4).

We are therefore careful, when drilling this hole, to give it a dimension slightly greater than the final dimension that we want to obtain. Other holes, for example for the seconds hand, could. be drilled in this dial at the same time as the central hole, and. by taking the same precautions.

Finally, the last operation consists in cutting the plate 1 with the press to give it. its final perimeter (fig. 5) which is here circular. It is also possible, at the same time, to rectify the hole or holes in the dial.
