La présente invention a pour objet un appareil avertisseur pour mouilleurs de lit; cet appareil est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une souree de courant, un relais à deux contacts, un dispositif d'alerte et une paire d'électrodes maintenues par un support isolant à faible distance l'une de l'autre, en ce que le tout est agencé, d'une part, de l'acon que, lorsque les électrodes sont mises en communication par du linge mouillé par de l'urine, le relais soit excité et ferme son premier contact, et, d'autre part, de manière qu'un circuit de maintien se ferme alors et fasse passer dans le relais un 1 courant plus intense qui attire davantage l'armature et ferme le second contact, lequel est disposé de fanon à mettre en circuit le dispositif d'alerte.

L'appareil représenté comprend une source de courant 1 constituée par une pile de lampe de poche, un relais 2 à deux eontacts, un dispositif d'alerte 3 et une paire d'électrodes 4, 5.
Le pôle positif de la pile 1 est relié à un interrupteur 6 qui conduit au point de jonction 7. Ce dernier est connecté, d'une part, à l'armature 8 du relais et, d'autre part, à l'électrode 4. L'électrode 5 est reliée, d'une part, à ]'enroulement du relais 2 et, d'autre part, au premier contact 9 de ce relais. Ce contact 9 est formé par une lamelle flexible, susceptible de céder quand l'armature 8 appuie fortement contre elle. Le second contact 10 du relais 2 est disposé en retrait du contact 9 et est relié au dispositif d'alerte 3, lequel est connecté au pôle négatif de la pile 1. Ce pôle négatif est également relié à l'enroulement du relais 2.
Chaque éleetrode 4, 5 est eonstituée par deux plaquettes métalliques 4a, 4b, respectivement 5a, 5b, découpées en dents de scie et séparées l'une de l'autre par une lame isolante 11 formant support. Des tenons métalliques 12 maintiennent ensemble les deux plaquettes d'une même électrode. Les dents des deux électrodes sont enchevêtrées comme montré à la fig. 2.
L'appareil décrit fonctionne de la manière suivante: On place la paire d'électrodes 4, 5 dans le lit du mouilleur, de façon qu'elles soient en contact avec du linge recevant l'urine. Tant que le linge est sec, aucun courant ne peut passer dans le relais 2.
Quand le linge se mouille, il s'établit le circuit suivant: pôle positif de la pile 1, interrupteur 6, point de jonction 7, électrode 4, électrode 5, point de jonction 13, enroulement du relais 2, pôle négatif de la pile 1. Comme la résistance entre les deux électrodes est considérable, le courant passant dans le relais 2 est faible, de sorte que l'armature 8 ne ferme que le contact 9. A ce moment, le courant passe par le circuit de maintien suivant: pôle positif, interrupteur 6, point 7, armature 8, contact 9, point 13, enroulement du relais 2 et retour au pôle négatif de la pile 1.
La résistance de ce circuit étant beaucoup plus faible que celle du premier circuit, le relais 2 est fortement attiré; l'armature 8 fait céder le contact 9 et entre en contact avec le second contact 10 du relais 2. Le courant est alors conduit dans le dispositif d'alerte 3 par le circuit suivant: pôle positif, interrupteur 6, point 7, armature 8, contact 10, dispositif 3, pôle négatif de la pile 1. Le dispositif 3 peut être un vibreur, une sonnerie, une lumière, etc.
Pour interrompre le signal d'alerte, il faut ouvrir l'interrupteur 6.
La paire d'électrodes 4, 5 est reliée par un cordon au corps de l'appareil et y est bran chée au moyen d'une fiche.

The apparatus shown comprises a current source 1 consisting of a flashlight battery, a relay 2 with two contacts, a warning device 3 and a pair of electrodes 4, 5.
The positive pole of the battery 1 is connected to a switch 6 which leads to the junction point 7. The latter is connected, on the one hand, to the armature 8 of the relay and, on the other hand, to the electrode 4 The electrode 5 is connected, on the one hand, to the winding of the relay 2 and, on the other hand, to the first contact 9 of this relay. This contact 9 is formed by a flexible strip, capable of yielding when the frame 8 presses strongly against it. The second contact 10 of relay 2 is set back from contact 9 and is connected to warning device 3, which is connected to the negative pole of battery 1. This negative pole is also connected to the winding of relay 2.
Each éléetrode 4, 5 is eonstitué by two metal plates 4a, 4b, respectively 5a, 5b, cut in sawtooth and separated from each other by an insulating blade 11 forming a support. Metal tenons 12 hold together the two plates of the same electrode. The teeth of the two electrodes are entangled as shown in fig. 2.
The apparatus described operates as follows: The pair of electrodes 4, 5 are placed in the bed of the moistener, so that they are in contact with the laundry receiving the urine. As long as the laundry is dry, no current can flow to relay 2.
When the laundry gets wet, the following circuit is established: positive pole of battery 1, switch 6, junction point 7, electrode 4, electrode 5, junction point 13, coil of relay 2, negative pole of the battery 1. Since the resistance between the two electrodes is considerable, the current flowing through relay 2 is low, so that armature 8 only closes contact 9. At this time, current flows through the following holding circuit: positive pole, switch 6, point 7, armature 8, contact 9, point 13, winding of relay 2 and return to the negative pole of battery 1.
The resistance of this circuit being much lower than that of the first circuit, the relay 2 is strongly attracted; armature 8 gives way to contact 9 and comes into contact with second contact 10 of relay 2. Current is then conducted in warning device 3 by the following circuit: positive pole, switch 6, point 7, armature 8 , contact 10, device 3, negative pole of battery 1. Device 3 can be a buzzer, a bell, a light, etc.
To interrupt the warning signal, open switch 6.
The pair of electrodes 4, 5 is connected by a cord to the body of the apparatus and is connected thereto by means of a plug.
